Since we already have a ''Armor you'd love in DAI'' -thread I thought we need a similar thread about the weapons we want in DAI.

So, what weapons would you like to see in Dragon Age Inquisition?

I'll start:

The German two handed ''war knife'':

One handed Falchions:

The mordaxt and halbeards:

And super heavy crossbows, arbalests that have draw weights in excess of 500lbs and thus need to be cocked with a winch.

I'd like to see more pole-weapons in general. Spears, poleaxes, billhooks, and the like.

Those weapons look good to me.

I may be the minority, but I actually don't like overly wacky or weird fantastical looking weapons in fantasy games. For instance, I always found mods for weapons in games like Skyrim, because I hated that the only way you could keep up with the difficulty in the game was to eventually advance through all of the weapon types, because I always preferred the way the regular Iron or Steel weapons looked as opposed to the Elven, Glass or Daedric. I just like basic, functional looking weapons, I don't need so many swirls and engravings, just give me a damn sword.

While they're not really weapons, I think it'd be pretty neat if we had use of Cats and Weasels if we're laying siege to castles/forts/etc.

Weapons themselves my vote is for things like Corseques, Fauchards, Halberds, and Guisarmes. I think we're pretty covered when it comes to sword types, daggers, and bows. A few new designs for them though would be welcome. Projectile weapons, like throwing knives, throwing axes...those would be awesome too.

Please.

Throw me into the realistic looking weapon group too.

That makes two of us!
Realism aside I also think that the more simple but sophisticated (compared to the typical fancy RPG fantasy weapons) looking meele weapons look way more menacing.

I agree, we need more polearms with lots of reach to kill the huge beasts like dragons. You're not going to kill them by stabbing their toes.

I want a big **** off anime sword twice the size of my character with a bloody engine attached to it. It also has to have a **** load of neon lights adorned all over the blade and have the ability to somehow fold into a gun that can fire magical bullets that cause intense flashes which will induce epilepsy upon my enemies.

It also has to make mechanical sci-fi sounds when I swing it.

Well, everything that's in the OP, actually. Aside from that, a Yataghan. I don't know which culture of Thedas could it fit, but I think it would go great with the art-style and the gameplay:

And something like this for rogues (it seems to be called Hudiedao Swords and is from China):

P.S. Count me as another one who dislikes"overly wacky or weird fantastical looking weapons in fantasy games".

Conventional weapons not good enough for you, eh?

Well, if you get attacked by some Orlesian homicidal maniac, don't come crying to me!

I actually find weapon design to be one of the weakest points of the series. They either end up looking extremely bland or absolutely ridiculous. The Witcher games (take a shot) have beautiful swords that are both elegant and practical - a stak contrast to their DA counterparts, which usually are neither. I know some people think they lack variety, but I strongly disagree.

Daggers, however, are what I dislike the most. The majority of them are downright bizarre.

A three-click exploding pen and an invisible sports car.

Or if we're being realistic, a short spear with a long blade, throwing axes, and flaming sword because I want to feel like I'm in A Game of Thrones.

A Variation of a Katana wouldn't be too bad. If I remember correctly D&D bases games used to have these in their world

Mage weapons like the spellweaver sword not just a staff. I want to fight with a sword in one hand and a staff in the other when I play as a Mage.

As much as I like rapiers and basket-hilt swords (my favorite type of sword is the scottish broad blade basket hilt) I don't think Dragon Age combat can handle that properly. I would prefer not to have rapiers in DA than see them used like an axe.

They could have seperate rapier and dagger trees for rogues, and thus seperate animations.
