I've played through the Mass Effect series many times now and I still don't know who to romance...or rather who is the best romance. I've got my thoughts which I would like to share with you if possible. If there are some unflattering remarks about your favourite character then I apologise in advance.

Also, this if for FemShep options.

First, Kaidan. He was the first that I romanced on my first playthrough. It made the most sense to me after reading through forums and fanfiction of the series. He was loving, wasn't afraid to stand up to Shepard's choices and backed her (mostly) through the games. However, during the last playthrough, I noticed something in ME3. He was a right pain in the butt. I know he's a video game character but there was something in voice that sounded condescending. I hated him. Yet, in fanfiction, he's brilliant.

Secondly, Garrus. My favourite. He's funny, the banter between Shepard and Garrus is simply amazing and he just seems the right choice. Of course, there can be no babies and us fangirls would like babies to be seen. Also, kissing is kinda not an option. He's willing to put his life on the line for Shepard and vice versa. There's no Shepard without Vakarian. And there are a few times where you think, 'Could get this more sickly?' But Garrus seems like the perfect choice to me.

Thirdly, Liara. I haven't romanced Liara yet so I might do this one in another playthrough but to me Liara always seemed like the kid sister who always looked up to Shepard so romancing her would seem a bit weird.

I have romanced Jacob and Thane....Thane winning out of the two because of his angst-emo-I'm-dying-thing.

But I would like to remain with the three original choices if possible.

And I would like to hear your thoughts as to which option is best for femshep.

There isn't really a "best" choice that's right for all Shepards because people like different characters. Usually, your favorite character will end up being the romance you enjoy most - except in the case where a romance is poorly done, like Jacob's in ME3. The main three you listed are mostly considered to be well done.

I think you might have answered your own question here. And there is a kiss scene during his Citadel date (in the main game, not talking about the Citadel DLC because I haven't seen it), in case you didn't know and want to look it up on youtube.

As for the babies, adoption is a good solution. I'm sure there are a lot of orphans after the war.
