I don't know if this has been mentioned in any detail in another thread (possibly in the incredibly long Game Informer/Twitter threads) but I've noticed several concept arts that portray - what I'm assuming to be the Inquisitor - with a large black bird, possibly a crow or raven.

Has it been confirmed as a pet or creature in-game, or is it simply there to make the artwork look infinately cooler (something that it succeeds at imo).

Even if it has already been talked about before, I still think it warrants its own thread.

'Cos its awesome. And I totally want it for myself the Inquisitor.

Possible sighting of the bird above (who I'm assuming is) Iron Bull?

Let me know if you've spotted him anywhere else...just so I know I'm not crazy.

What if it's Flemeth? dun dun duuunn.

It's probably just a mini companion. You could use the bird to send out messages or something. And if you didn't romance anyone you can have deep conversations with the bird about how lonely you are.

I would love a raven/crow/whatever pet perching on my shoulder. If I could name it I'd call it 'Emergency Rations'.

If I had a raven his name would be Nevermore.

Maybe it's a familiar or something? I dunno, a raven would be a pretty cool pet to have.

I think it's an awesome idea, if true. Brings me back to the ol' Ranger class.

In particular I think that a rogue inquisitor would look considerably more bamf with the inclusion of a raven perched on their shoulder.

...and along with that hat...

Hmm with that floppy hat and a raven are we only going to have one eye?

Having the raven as a spy might be an interesting angle, although I am already wary of trusting crows after playing 'Chains of Satinav' recently.

Naw, I had a raven once for a pet - was a real pain. After he died (of natural causes) I said to myself, "Never-more."

Slinks out of thread

It's from Antiva. I guess you could even call it... an Antivan Crow.

Ooh, I found another one :) I feel as though it's a little more than coincidence at this stage...

It could also just be symbolism.

Which, by some sources, doesn't bode very well for dear Inquisitor.

Ravens are often associated with knowledge and cunning.

Odin has two Ravens that tell him everything that happens in the world.

Although the one is desert seems to say 'food soon'

It does seem to be showing up pretty consistently.

I like the theory that says it is Morrigan, being all G-man to the Inquisitor's Gordon Freeman.

I'm going to name the bird Beatrice and try to make my character look as much like this as possible.

Depending on whether or not it is acknowledged in-game (by other companions or whomever), I may be rather suspicious of it, knowing that there is the possibility of individuals (I'm looking at you, Morrigan and Flemeth) possessing shapeshifting abilities.

Otherwise, it's probably just a summoned pet, kinda like the mabari in DA2

Oh no, see that's where your mistaken. The bird is actually the one who wears "that hat" and will peck the eyes out of whoever tries to take it away.

If I had to guess, I say it is something like a ranger class, summon a bird or something like that maybe

I support ravens wearing stylish hats

I hear they make difficult pets, though magic ravens might be a whole other story.

I like the idea it's a shapeshifted Morrigan.

I'll only get suspicious when I get 'Raven disapproves' messages.

 I suppose that would be a bit of a give-away.

Gives a new meaning to "swooping is bad", at any rate...
