Instead of the usual Mabari, we get a crow instead. Like how its played out in DA2.
Also, love that desert concept art. Looks really awesome.

Or it's DA:Inquisition's version of the Hook Beetle.

But a raven is ok .
I hope it's not a shapeshifter though...I won't lie anthropomorphism always work with me.
I like talking dragon , talking bird etc...
But I can't help but think about the meme with the cat in the ceiling .
And then I think Morrigan is watching you , or Flemeth is watching you.
And it's just awkward.

So the only logical conclusion is that the Inquisitor is a taxidermist in his/her spare time.

In Dawn of the Seeker didn't evil blood mages shapeshift into ravens? It was sort of their thing, spies!
Hmm...I have yet to see Dawn of the Seeker, but if that's the case then it sounds very interesting. How closely does the movie tie in to what we might expect from DA:I? Do you think there might be a change of coming across anything tied to the movie?
I'll have to make some time to watch it...

The story of Dawn of The Seeker probably exists as a piece of the canon (around background things the player has no input into). Honestly, I didn't like it very much at all, so I hope it doesn't tie in very much. I thought the characters were mostly poor, very one dimensional. Saturday morning cartoony one dimensional, like Smurfs with the Chantry and blood magic. Stylistically, I doubt there's very much crossover at all, apart from maybe the appearance of dragons.

It looks cool for sure. The corvid + the Inquisitor's clothes in some of the concept art we've seen so far reminds me of Assassin's Creed and the bird of prey motifs there (this is not a bad thing).

DotS is canon, it's Cassandra's backstory. It's referenced a few time in World of Thedas too. The DVD backstage video with Mike, Mark and the lead artist (Matt?) is also quite interesting, that's the first place I heard of Thedas story and with hints of where it might be going. And the blood mages dragon cultists did use raven/crow shapeshifting in it.
The movie is pretty much: Templar/Chantry is corrupte, Mages aren't bad unless they are Blood Mages. There was also dragon cultists vs dragon hunters.

There were also several at Ostagar. I'm sure all of them were Morrigan.

There are also some birds when you arrive in Kirkwall.
Great...
Now if we do have a pet raven , I'm going to spent all game not trusting the poor animal.

If she has ingratiated herself into Orlasian society, she must be doing it without them being aware of her magic. Meaning that she operates undercover. She can come and go as she pleases in the form of a bird.
The Blood Mages in DotS took the form of Ravens to spy and flee. Morrigan is a naturally adept shape-shifter. A raven should be no problem for her.
There is an Irish goddess known as The Morrigan (among other names) who is the patron of battle and strife who takes the form of a raven flying over the dead.

I have always thought it a missed opportunity that Morrigan didn't have a connection to a raven, either reguarly turning into one or having one as a pet that follows her everywhere, because of its obvious connection with the Irish myths.Shadobald wrote...
I subscribe to the raven = Morrigan theory for a number of reasons.

So Morrigan being the Raven would be perfect and would definitely give cause to an overreacted fan squee:happy:
(And if it is not Morrigan, I will call it Lenore)

Likely because DG had no mental connection to the Irish mythos when he named her Morrigan, but rather used the name from a character a friend of his used in tabletop games.

There are too many parallels. It's not only a coincidence.
Further example: The origin of the Morrigan in the Irish myth is likely the celtic godess Rigani, which is considered as mother of gods. And what is Morrigan, if you do the ritual?

I'm just going by what he said himself. He may have changed his mind though.
Morrigan is a name I took from a character a friend of mine had in a game I ran years ago. She might have gotten it from the Celtic goddess, I don't know, but I just liked the name.
Unless you'd prefer to think that there is added meaning behind the name choice, in which case I must say that is very canny of me.
