Anyone got any tips for playing this guy?  I was playing him as level 16 on silver yesterday, and he dealt lots of damage but went down very easily too.  Using the Reegar V, but still feels like the cooldowns are too long.  Any tips for keeping him alive?  I went down about 5 time in a silver game lol

No pull, Power Synergy on Charge, all top on Cluster Grenades. Use Grenade Capacity 5 and a Venom/Raider/Claymore with incendiary ammo.

I like the Wraith or the Raider on him. No pull of course. Set things on fire, charge, drop some nades, repeat.

Hit and run. I spec him with a 6/0/6/6/6 build and Adrenaline Module III and Grenade Capactity are the two consumables/Gear I always use. For ammo you want either Disruptor or Incendiary (my personal preference). On Silver you have more margin for error but on higher difficulties you definitely don't want to get caught out in the open with your pants down. Good weapons to use are : Venom,Wraith,Claymore(I wouldn't recommend it until you get more comfortable with him),Talon and Raider. His damage output is insane but remember to always be moving

Thanks, I tried the claymore, but even with reload cancel it was too slow to crowd control. I don't currently have any IA, trying to save up credits to buy a load of RPs and APs.

If you're after consumables, buy JEPs for level 1&2 stuff, and regular SPs for level 3 stuff (while still unlocking guns/mods/characters/etc)

Acolyte shot + Charge = instant kill everything except bosses.
No consumables required.
200% cooldown.

Use ponus power. It amazing. I once charged like 13 times in a row. Invicibility frames FTW. 

Bonus power is not kind with me. I prefer barrier recharge. The only class I use it on is the volus vanguard.

It s the only vanguard with which I use the bonus power on the charge tree. The barrier is so small that U almost only use the shield gating anyway. So 2 or 3 charge in a row are quite usefull. Also the raider is great for quick damage to health after removing the remaining shield with the first shot. But It's quite heavy compared to the wraith ?

On my alt account, i've been practicing with him also ... only have Grenade cap 1 .. but he still dominates.

IMO he's far too powerful for silver, but i'm only comfortable playing him vs Reapers and Cerberus on Gold right now.

Right now I'm using the Hurricane on him .. works pretty well, but I can't just charge into a group of enemies unless I'm going to throw 1-3 grenades .. I get the feeling that using another weapon with more 1 shot hitting power would probably be better on him ... for more of a 'shoot, then move' philosophy

I just rolled the Raider and I have a Venom at II ... at these lower levels, are these guns powerful enough to use with him in Gold?

Raider is definitely powerful even at I. Its been a while since my Venom was at II but if hosting I'd use it. Off host I'd go Raider (lag helps it plus no BS Phantom DR). Out of curiosity what is your recharge speed with these two guns Max?

Venom for me is more used to prime for FE and stagger, rather than killing things rapidly. Throwing more than 1 grenades is a given at any time when you felt needed no matter which weapon you are using.

I think Raider 1 is good enough for him. But bonus power is probably a given consider how heavy. You might want to consider bringing acolyte if you take Raider. It's a good substitute for Venom. Venom 2 should be OK too. If you have a Wraith at any level I would suggest you try it out too. My Wraith I works pretty well on both DA and DV on Gold.

Pull is definitely quite useful on silver.....I remember playing with it. It's not half as fun as no pull, but effective as well.

Use raider cluster nades and and bonus power charge with incendiary ammo. Also take a power amplifier rather than cyclonic mod.

If you are out of incendiary ammo, then disruptor is probably your second best choice as you can set up tech burst for yourself instead of fire explosions. My favorite weapon on him is the hurricane, need to try the venom though. Go for max power damage bonuses, power dmg bonus on charge and bonus power charge (his charge is more for I-frames and damage than for shield restoration). Take grenade capacity and throw lots of nades. Don't go over 3 ranks in pull.
