Actually, I think bioware could make a badass dating game, and give the japanese a run for their money. :)

But seriously, Bioware has been hitting the right note with their romances IMO. Not too much, not too little, and becoming ever more inclusive as they go on (hate on ME3 however you like, it certainly handled romances very well, and was quite progressive on SS romances).

At least you knew what you were getting into. Jacob was so much worse.

I like what happens with Jack and Miranda, but they appear too little!

It's unfair imo how much more content the squad mate LIs have. :/

Quantity did not do well for Mass Effect.  I'd rather they went with about 3-4 quality romances, regardless of it still being the same cast.

If there's going to be many romances in the game, then all of them should be of a certain quality.

That, I agree with. All romances in the game should be well-developed and fully fleshed-out character arcs.

No more jacob romances. Ever.

Bioware romance content always optional but some people buy their game because romance.
It's help increase their sales but it's not the main content (for now)

Anyway, you can't deny that some fans obsessed about it too much...

Apparently bionut obsesses about it. When/IF he gets DAI he should focus on how he wants to play the game and not so much about how others choose to play it.

ME2-3 were called dating sim for reason. Don't see a problem in lots of romances, provided quality is good.

The problem is that adding extra things the fans demand does impact other aspects.

But I've gotten past caring, so I leave you with just that knowledge and perspective in mind.

I too am tired of the nudity/sex/etc. threads.  Frankly, I don't give a **** if they include those things or not.  Relationships, however, are vital to good storytelling, whether adversarial, competitive, friendly, romantic, supportive, etc.

What I want to see are relationships in which supporting or challenging each other is the focus instead of "omg! my pc kissed X!" or "they did the sideways salsa!" or "it's X nekkid!!!"  Two characters standing up for each other, bettering each other, being there in difficult situations - those are much more worthwhile scenes to me than some pixelated boobs or awkward sex scenes.

I don't care how others play the game. :?

@Bionuts: I think you might want to look to a different company then.

Cause dating game is what a large population seem to want (if threads on the BSN are any indication) - and Bioware IS a business.

I'm holding out for when they mature their so called "romances" (about as deep as teen dating currently) - and integrate them into the story.

Until then, just ignore that part - there's plenty more to Bioware games than the dating sim aspect.

I love that bioware includes these relationships. Bioware is the only company that, at least for me, can put romances into a game and make it work. While it may not be the main focus it's still important to many peopl.

Yes, shame on us for having feelings and liking love and intimacy.

Let's abolish romances as they are clearly not a proper part of the game but a completely seperate entity that should not be enjoyed.
Let's focus on more violence and nudity instead! I want to see boobs, dicks and entrails all over the place! That is clearly so much more mature than allowing your character to be human and connect with other characters on an emotional level!
I think we should really discuss which character we'd like to kill most instead.

1. Late to the party, eh?

2. Nudity falls more under the romance demands, than it does non-romance demands.

3. Romances aught to be done well, which is debatable in a lot of cases. And should not be such an important factor that the forums end up strangled and choked on endless threads demanding more catering, and more arbitrary aspect based romances (IE race, apperance, gender, etc), rather than anything based on a real, deep character trait, like their personalities or beliefs.

4.More romance threads turn into kill threads when someone elses love interest is brought up, than I care to really keep count of.

5. Can't people be against romances becoming a the be all and end all of a character, without that meaning they want to destroy all romance?

6. Why so angry?

1. Fashionably late

2. Maybe, but to me it seems like it tends to be advertised by the people lobbying for a more 'mature' DA experience rather than those who simply enjoy the romances

3. People like discussing aspects they enjoyed in the game and making suggestions that might improve those aspects. A lot of topics doesn't mean that people want romance to become the main aspect of the game and most of the discussions center around small things (like hugging) or suggestions for character types people would find interesting. Not that all romance topics are top quality, mind you, but they don't have to be. Sometimes, the romance topics are simply fun. At least until people start taking everything too seriously again and start another sexuality discussion.

4. I haven't seen a romance thread yet that turned into a kill thread.

5. Of course they can. But at the same time, people should be allowed to enjoy the romances and discuss them without being accused of caring for nothing else or being lonely 14-year-old boys who can't get a RL girlfriend.

6. Angry isn't the right word. Simply frustrated. *shrug*

All of the romances are terrible to be perfectly honest. There are probably smutty romance novels more well-written than the the romances everyone on the internet is so obsessed with.

I think the nudity thread only wants them to have realistic romance scenes and do away with the underwear sex where it was appropriate. No is asking for full on nudity just people just want romances scenes to real and not where it feels uncomfortable to watch type thing.

The only worse than awkwardly animated dry humping is awkwardly animated sex.
