I don't mind nudity, but getting horny playing video games is very, very, awkward.

I understand that, I stay away from Anime porn because it feels awkward watching. How people drew it amazes me

Look, I don't want it to be a Dating Sim either, but I think that every good story needs a certain degree of love and romance.
So far I liked Bioware's approach: while they didn't dominate, they added nicely to the main chars personal story.
For example in ME3, when Shepard is completely devastated by his last dream, and Tali says she will always be there for him.
Or in DA:O, when Morrigan is in a relationship with the Warden, she reveals that she developed real feelings for him, and that it became more than a mission given from Flemeth.

This is what makes a story feel more... real to me.

I agree with this post wholeheartedly. It works.

Inquisitor/whomever: Hey random party member?

RPM: Yes PC?

Inquisitor/whomever: So... yeah we've flirted a bit for the last while and we're about to attack the evil tower of Doctor professor arch-magister Malicious and I was thinking maybe we should have a pre-final mission bang?

RPM: Sure.

*the next day*

Inquisitor/whomever: Well that was perfectly pleasant.

RPM: NOW WE'RE IN LOVE FOREVER AND EVER!!!

Just about every Bioware romance.

I don't really have anything against the romances, but they are kind of ridiculous.

A truly great adult RPG has to have balance~ fighting, politics, love and humor. In my opinion, everything real life has to offer and then some.

I have to say I agree with luna it all seems to have a nice balance just like real life so why not have fighting and some fun on the side :o

Except, you know, both Dragon Age games thus far. This only happens in Mass Effect.

Some of the romances in Mass Effect 3 were different as well.

Yes Xil thank you for once again killing the joke.

I'd give you the glorious Buzz Killington award but I'm sure you'd have your cuttlefish minions "re-educate" me.

Ah screw it here you go!

He just didn't want fans enjoying aspects of the game he doesn't like.
So he needs to worry about his games and not those of other players.

I. ENJOY. ROMANCES. IN. DA.

hur dur dur i should not have to state it as many times as I have. I just hope that it doesn't take content away from the companions. Sorta like Jack in ME2.

Good gracious, you're right. Here's my contribution to the cause:

"It's ruining my immersion of a Sebastian-clone Thedas population."
"I'm a heterosexual male gamer. The only romance should be with sexy females. No ******, except lesbians, lol."
"Scrap romance alltogether in favor of a FPS MP involving primitive guns and mage projectiles. The maps must include the standard desert, jungle, tundra, someone's house, abandoned mining industrial warehouse and quarry."

I think those elements just add to making a good story, but yea I see your point.

well, yes and no - why?

because there are certainly very good love stories (with dating etc. being the major focus) that have a very good plot etc. too (i would just want to be informed if they make such a game (so that there are no miss-understandings about what's important etc. :)

greetings LAX
ps: a little more focus then in the last games would be something that i would approve of (Romance-Sub-Plots are one of the things that make Bioware games "different" (and IMHO better!) then the run of the mill RPGs out there...the last two - IMHO bad - games notwithstanding)

Some players in another seem to be celebrating the Game Informer update that does say Bioware is cutting back on romances for DAI.
shrugs.
OF course the romances shouldn't be the focal point of the game but they should add to it.
Romances are a big deal to many players I suspect .
I am one of those.
For me it isn't about sexual stimulation like Bionut says but it's realism.
Falling in love is real. Many of us have experienced it and through subrogation a big word where we step into the warden's shoes or hawke's shoes and relive that experience through them.
DA shouldn't become a hack n slash like some players want it to be.
Blood, gore, and genocide.
If it becomes that I won't buy it.
So Laidlaw and Darrah need to think again.

I see a lot of sexy, naked, hugging, twirling, kissing threads, etc. And while all of that is good and dandy... I truly hope there never is a Bioware game that pays too much attention there. There are dating games out there. I'm sure of it...

I thought this is what Bioware fans wanted.

Well Inquisitor has on his head a lot things if they cut romances that would be justified it is kind even strange that in every game have to be romance that would be even refreshing i don't mind romances because that let us know character more than just as friend but for time to time they can change that in awakening i was fine with that even if they handle interactions with companions bad.

After thinking about this some more, I also do not want another "Dragon Age: Relationship" game. While I did enjoy its presence in "Dragon Age: Origins", I found "Dragon Age II's" relationships to be a little too unmanly. Leliana's story was short and sweet. I was going to created a thread on this subject a few days ago. Once BioWare turned an innocent story feature into a political stunt, I did a complete 180 degree turn on the romance issue. If I want to spend a romantic night out, I can just give my girlfriend a quick phone call. I do not need a digital and soulless character to say, "I love you".

I prefer flesh, blood, heart, and soul.
