For me romance is not the main part of the game. Although I can live without it, it is one of those ingredients that adds to the experience. I am glad it is there and I hope they'll give it attention in their new titles.

Romances.

Can't live with them... can't have a Bioware game without 'em... amiright?!

In all seriousness, I think romances should be completely abandoned in a random Bioware game. I'm not saying it should be DA:I, or ME4, or what. But they should just not have a game with romances... and tell no one about it beforehand. Just come out with a game and <BAM> no romances.

Just so you'd see the true colors of people and find out if they really are playing the games because they like the games, or because they really want to engage in romance content.

The only inanimate objects I'm interested in romancing are Companion Cubes and giant bags of weed.

I understand wanting romance in the game, but there does come a point when all of these requests for one night stands, sexual scenes, huggy wuggy, kissing, etc., can be a bit much.

I don't ever want Bioware to be some front for people wanting to "free" themselves from imaginary bonds.

Quick straw poll, what flavour of popcorn would everyone most like to get intimate with?

Awakening didn't have any romances, and a lot of people were angry because of that. However, that was an expansion, I wonder if it'd be a bigger deal for a full game.

I see a lot of sexy, naked, hugging, twirling, kissing threads, etc. And while all of that is good and dandy... I truly hope there never is a Bioware game that pays too much attention there. There are dating games out there. I'm sure of it...

oh man yeah god forbid someone like the game for a different aspect than you right cause its completely impossible to like the game while mostly enjoying the romance

exactly why is it a problem that some people like the game for the romance

are they holding you at gunpoint forcing you to engage in zevrans massage

are they bombing bioware headquarters if their fave isnt romanceable

do tell

If this is your concern then you should direct it towards the Mass Effect team instead as the "Citadel" DLC is probably
(& hopefuly) as close to a "Dating Sim" as their games will ever get.

Seing as the Romantic content in these games are optional, it would be hurendous game design to sink all of their resources into content that most players wont engage in. So your worries will never materialise;)

But wanting better Romance archs with more exclusive content baised on your choice is never a bad thing. In fact, I hope it is one of the areas that DAI will improve upon the most as long as it doesn't come at the cost of the story or some how hinders the Core gameplay.

I view it as follows; The main game is the delicious Cake that everyone wants a piece of & Romances are like a selection box of tastey Muffins & Chocolates. Optional, but can make the expierence alot better if there is something there that tickles your fancy:police:

Someday Bioware should release a dating sim and not tell anyone what it is beforehand.

There is an easy work around OP... plain yet simple and very effective, don't initiate that aspect of the game. Or are you just trying to apply your preference on everyone else. I've enjoyed them in most of BW games from BG2, Jade, Kotor and even in Hordes of the Underdark expansion for NWN >>>> onwards. If anything, I wish that had ore depth.

They should have more depth. because Saints Row 4 mimic'd Bioware romances perfectly :D

It's true. Bioware doesn't need to add bare breasts and genitals to prove that they're "mature" or "not in the 50s".

There's nothing wrong with liking romance in a game. But liking a game for the sole reason of it having romance besides it being slightly creepy (imo), it makes that person miss out on a fun experience in games just because they wanna two video games characters fall in love with each other
