*shrug* Call me boring, but I like a game that contains both romance and action. Bioware seems to be doing a decent job with both of those elements thus far.

It seems that most people on these forums judge a character more on their romance than on who they are as characters. So many request for arbitrary trait based romances such as kossith romances, dwarf romances, elf romances, templar or mage romances, gay romances, bisexual romances, even saw a poster request a platonic sexual romance...I don;t even.

But the one thing you'll never see posted here in the forums is "I want a romance based on the characters personality". Or "I want a character just for the character and who they are as a person." it's all about what they are, before who they are.

It's true. Bioware doesn't need to add bare breasts and genitals to prove that they're "mature" or "not in the 50s".

or idk they could show whatever they feel like showing because theres nothing inherently wrong with breasts and genitals and its not like it isnt already a rated m game so i say go for it

as long as they still treat the characters respectfully i am all for nudity

oh man yeah god forbid someone like the game for a different aspect than you right cause its completely impossible to like the game while mostly enjoying the romance

exactly why is it a problem that some people like the game for the romance

are they holding you at gunpoint forcing you to engage in zevrans massage

are they bombing bioware headquarters if their fave isnt romanceable

do tell

There's nothing wrong with liking romance in a game. But liking a game for the sole reason of it having romance besides it being slightly creepy (imo), it makes that person miss out on a fun experience in games just because they wanna two video games characters fall in love with each other

but why does this concern you so much

it aint your business how they want to play the game

and furthermore enjoying one aspect of the game more than others doesnt constitute "missing out" on the rest, it just means they like that one part of the game more

maybe the romance is the fun experience for them

why does everyone elses preference even matter you?

Bioware showing nudity? I think you got your parties mixed up. Bioware roamces are more PG than a tween romance novel. You will never even see an ass shot anymore, the most you'll get is underwear or a bra.

There is an easy work around OP... plain yet simple and very effective, don't initiate that aspect of the game. Or are you just trying to apply your preference on everyone else. I've enjoyed them in most of BW games from BG2, Jade, Kotor and even in Hordes of the Underdark expansion for NWN >>>> onwards. If anything, I wish that had ore depth.

They should have more depth. because Saints Row 4 mimic'd Bioware romances perfectly :D

Saints Row can be a very amusing game series :D

I see a lot of sexy, naked, hugging, twirling, kissing threads, etc. And while all of that is good and dandy... I truly hope there never is a Bioware game that pays too much attention there. There are dating games out there. I'm sure of it...

Funny. This thread is gonna turn into one sooner or later.

Why is what a person does or does not find fun anyone's concern but their own?

A number of video game fans seem to really want to prove to other video game fans that their tastes are somehow objectively better. I don't get it either.

Putting optional content in the game that I would not personally choose to see is a total waste of resources! Anyone who posts in a thread on the BSN discussing romances is obviously only interested in the romances and that is wrong! Everyone who wants Bioware to have more mature romance scenes is obviously a perv or a social justice warrior!

Did I miss anything? can this thread end now?

A person's sexual "identity" plays a large part in their "personality". :o:O

Oh, I ENJOY the current romances in their games. However, adding anything more is just sort of a waste.

Does it define who they are as a person? Because I very much doubt it does, nor is it the most important part of themselves. Same with race.

Reading these forums though, you'd think the opposite was true, that race and sexuality was the only thing that matters in a character.

I disagree, if Bioware intends to keep adding romances they should have more depth

well you did just assert that you think playing the game for the romance is creepy and makes them miss out on a fun experience as if theres a set definition of whats fun in a game so yeah

I'd imagine that for most people somebody's gender is in fact more important than their personality when it comes to romance.

Define mature? As in "this relationship is mixed at best and we get into fights when we disagree" or "I want a full frontal shot right out of a cgi porno"? Which type of mature are we talking about?

Also, I have yet to see a thread about a characters personality, and if it did exist, it was severly outweighed by the sheer amount of threads demanding companions that meet the arbitrary attribute quota.
