Would anyone want choices that don't feed the player's ego in DA:I?

I'm not speaking for games or series. Merely the themes portrayed within them. Dragon Age could be great. It could be crap. Haven't played it, so can't say either way.

...than why are you here? In a discussion on the third game in the dragon age series?

You can't speak for "themes" unless you played the games

DA2 has an Elixer of Heroism

I'll probably buy and play at least DA:O sometime before Inquisition is released.

DA:O is such a long game though. It's easy to get lost. Tbh i haven't finished it past the elven/werewolf mission.

I agree with the developers, and side with them, a lot. That has nothing to do with the points you're trying to make (things like, a hero should never die, for proper heroism men need to have muscular bodies and women need to have full breasts).

Don't paint this as you and Bioware against the world because that is not true at all.

First of all, I've never said anything of the sort. Saying that player characters (not just 'good' ones) shouldn't die no matter what in BioWare games which are filled with promises of choices that matter and very heavy investment in the player character is an incredibly different thing from 'Heroes should never die.'

And although I'd be hesitent to phrase it as 'need,' I certainly believe that beauty is a good and desireable thing. And thus characters are better for it. In fiction and in real life. It sure as hell shouldn't be a mark of shame as a great many people on the BSN love to imply.

Calling Davey's first character now.

Male Human noble, romances Leliana, Elves, Mages, Harrowmont, and then a massive b*tch fest at the ending.

As for the topic--YES.

Please, less wild choices like "decide who is the king of a country" and more along the line of choices within the linear story. So basically the same thing happens, but how we approach it, collateral damage, etc., changes.

Don't you think you should have a grasp on the series' tone and objectives before discussing the path the next game should take?

No. I want the option to kill everyone who pisses my PC off. ...Including companions. Basically, a "[Attack] What the **** did you just say?" option.

Fair enough. Heroes shouldn't die is still a poor statement in my opinion.

And no one's saying it is a mark of shame. But painting it as necessary, as you do, is also a bad move--and one that has nothing to do with defending Bioware and the developers.

You big liar.

I'd like my fiction to be filled with incredibly attractive characters, please. That means flawless skin, shiny hair, gorgeous eyes, slender waists, and yeah, full breasts wouldn't hurt either. Nice deep voices for the guys and plenty of muscle.

Heroes shouldn't always die in a very specific set of circumstances which only a tiny fraction of stories fulfill.

Why is it a bad move? It's not necessary for every single character. Krogan are ugly. Javik is ugly. Just in general.

In DAO, the warden PC was outcasted from fereldan by Loghain, treated like an errand boy by almost everyone and Mage/elven/dwarven PC were discriminated many times in the game. So when was our ego fed in the DA series again?
