Would anyone want choices that don't feed the player's ego in DA:I?

In DAO, the warden PC was outcasted from fereldan by Loghain, treated like an errand boy by almost everyone and Mage/elven/dwarven PC were discriminated many times in the game. So when was our ego fed in the DA series again?
When you chose who became the dwarven king, who became the leader of the dalish clan of elves (or, whether Zathrian died or not), when you chose who was the king of Ferelden, and when you chose whether or not to capture the soul of an old god and place it in a "baby."

And in the end you became Hero of Fereldan and people fear The Warden so much they jump off of cliffs. Many people came to you for their troubles because you were Warden Commander and slayer of thousands.DarkKnightHolmes wrote...

But the player still made it happen. If's like if someone who had magical powers wanted to give you eternal youth if you sleep with them, most people would jump at that chance.Arcane Warrior Mage Hawke wrote...

If they fear me so much then why does no one have a problem attacking me in awakening or Witch hunt. For such a legendary feared hero, I sure don't get much love. And no, people don't come to the warden with their problems because we're the commander, they come to the warden with their problems because this is a video game. It isn't going to be fun if your main character goes around doing absolutely nothing.

That's called Gameplay and Story Segregation my friend. In the world of Thedas the Warden would be one of the most feared figures around, people would ask them to help with their troubles simply because the Warden got **** done.DarkKnightHolmes wrote...

So.... like almost western rpg in the last 15 years, we have choices! What a shocker. Op, might as well make a thread about fallout, elder scroll, witchers or every other bioware game and complain about them feeding our ego in that case.

I like how you fail to actually address that these are, in fact ego-feeding choices like you asked for in your post.

Anyway, if during the game, some characters want to praise or mock my choices, I would not mind, but I would appreciate if it's also possible for me to tell them thanks or to fu** off (not especially in that order by the way).
Well, I hope the choices DA:I will propose are going to be challenging and interesting but not annoying to the point you must choose between “cuts your two arms” or “becomes blind”.
