Is it just me or are you still annoyed with the ME3 endings?

After about a year we got the extended cut DLC which added just about nothing, and with ME4 being announced, I ask myself what's the point getting it, if its set in the past I still know the crappy outcome of what will happen, even though it may be a new storyline, people talk about a good ending to ME but is any ending really good? the Normandy is still stuck on some planet with no other intelligent life so what can they do? the Geth still die and EDI if I choose the destroy ending which is probably the best bad ending the game has to offer, Its kind of funny the Mass relays are destroyed as well so contact is lost with all the other species so when you think about it Bioware just destroyed there own game, so if Mass Effect 4 is in the future, what's it going to be called? "Mass Effect 4, There aren't anymore aliens because we F£$&!K the whole series up but hey we still have laser riffles" who was in charge of ME3 and what made him decide "Ok I'm gonna kill everything the player has worked for, F3&K them coz I just want money money money" and who else said "Yeah that's cool" I don't know about you but to me the ending is still unfinished, there could have been so much more I wanted an actual ending (good ending) and a 5 minute clip of some old guy talking about how war has changed isn't enough, people should really think and ask Bioware why they did this and make them give us a proper ending, I do not want mass effect games set in the past, I want to play in the future and see how things have changed after the reaper attack so I can actually see what all that work achieved, Most of us knew that Shepard was probably going to die but we didn't see Bioware killing the ME universe, Who else thinks we need a real ending?

I was walking down the street, looking for something good to eat, then I saw that butt. It was jiggly goodness in a cup. So I walked up to it and said, "That is a mighty fine bottom you have there."

The butt turned around, "Thank you. You are very kind indeed."

I then invited the butt over for dinner, but it declined.

I almost became a man that day, but the RNG gods above condemned me to a lifetime without steak. So be it.

Are we talking about the Destroy ending? If so, I'm not sure what you saw.. but the Catalyst flat out says that with how advanced the species are, they will rebuild without too much trouble. The Normandy crew obviously gets together somehow as seen by the plaque memorial.. and there are also slides showing everyone rebuilding again. Since everyone is aware of the other species in the ME galaxy, I don't think it's too far of a stretch for them to eventually connect again. I don't know about the Geth or synthetics like EDI, since they were only able to advance to that level with Reaper tech.. but they could conveniently change this if they decide to go into the future with the next game. Probably waaaay far into the future.

I do agree, though, the end of the game didn't feel like a satisfying conclusion. It did feel like there was more to tell. And I disliked the whole "The Shepard" scene at the end. It was more annoying than heartwarming or whatever they wanted us to feel.

I couldn't care less about the rest of your thread OP. Since you didn't even attempt to format it properly. What I'm dissapointed about is that your thinking about not getting the next installment of the Mass Effect franchise, when nothing, not even the title, has been announced.

Yours and other BSNers assumptions and biased opinions are what wrecked the Forums in the first place. No offense and not trying to be an ****. But don't make assumptions about something you clearly don't know anything about.

Not really, I have my headcanon and interpretation of the ending, and it's good for me. So, no I don't really care or get annoyed or upset about how ME3 ended. It is what it is.

I'm never going to approve, but I otherwise don't care anymore. So no, I'm not still annoyed.

Some of the complaints in your post have been retcon'd into oblivion. I've only ever played the game with the EC installed, so I was never really annoyed with it as much as I found it a tad confounding with some of the a**pulling and logic that got tossed about a bit too liberally, but since I did a completionist playthrough with as many survivors from all 3 games as I could get (Geth and EDI excluded), I'm OK with how it turned out. As for the next game, I'm cautiously optimistic about what they do with it, especially if it turns out to be a sequel.

You know, the whole "it's set in the past so we already know how it'll end" complaint is kind of silly. Yes, we know that, ultimately, the galaxy will be irrevocably changed when Shepard confronts the Catalyst, but that doesn't mean that a sidequel can't have a surprising or satisfying ending in its own right, nor does it mean the events in the sidequel will be predictable. Just look at the movie Lincoln: it's about one of the most well-known series of events in US history, yet it still managed to be a wonderful, suspenseful movie.

I only started playing in June, and I think I'm over the ending more or less. It's stupid, but whatever. I get to destroy the Reapers at least..... I think.

I'm more annoyed about the general direction of the game. The crew could be better, the autodialogue sucks, the sudden change back into Alliance lapdog status, complete with hoorahs and salutes is also annoying. Basically, the journey wasn't enough to really make up for the ending.

Yes the endings still suck, no we're not getting new ones. Suggest not getting the next game if you don't like where the direction of the franchise went with last one, that's my plan anyways.

All I can really muster for ME3 and its endings are some vague annoyance and disbelief. The endings are so stupid I can't fathom why anyone thought they were a good idea. But I've accepted that they won't change. It also was never just the endings for me. Most of ME3 was terrible.

We should have all seen it coming with the Arrival DLC. It foreshadowed what kind of plot you should expect from Mac Walters. Fighting derpy indoctrinated human soldiers galore instead of Reapers, a nonsensical plot that overrides everything that came before it (what was the point of the Collectors and human reaper if Harbinger was that close to the galaxy), superficial choices/railroading (warn the Batarian system and your conscience is clear!), automatic deference to Hackett and Alliance, etc..

I was pretty satisfied with the paragon control ending for my dudeshep. It made sense for the choices he made throughout the trilogy.
