Is it just me or are you still annoyed with the ME3 endings?

extreme much? They were single handedly responsible for a REALLY bad PR faux pas (two actually) and a subsequent bad handling of it and some further bad choices along the lines after that.loungeshep wrote...

It's not that I'm annoyed at BioWare after the Dragon Age II, SWTOR and Mass Effect debacle and how they completely screwed us over and blame the reaction on the fanbase, it's just I don't give a **** about them anymore.
I guess that's better than being a hateful zealot. First came annoyance, then hate, then vitriol and... now there's just... nothing. I'm done with them and I'm very happy with it.
Says the dude with 5 bioware games under his avatar while still posting on their forums. lol I have heard this song and dance before.
This. @Merchant2006, you're done with them, yet you're still posting on their forums a year and a half later... separation anxiety? Or crave attention much?

BSN is a huge social site. Video games aren't the only reason people come here to spend their time.
The main reason I come back sometimes is because BSN has many great, intelligent and funny users. I've had lots of enjoyable times around here. However, and sadly, a lot of folks I cared for have either left this site or they hardly bother posting. So now I'm wondering what else BSN has to offer to keep me interested. Hmm...

Don't you get it? There's an expiration date on disappointment.
By now we're supposed to have forgotten all about the endings and be eagerly awaiting the next Mass Effect game.

BSN is a social site but this subforum is for video games, specifically for Mass Effect 3.
You'll find some of BSN's best users in the off-topic section btw. Some of them post there exclusively. Just a suggestion if you're feeling bored. You're not obligated to isolate yourself to any one section.

No. By now you're supposed to have MOVED ON WITH YOUR LIVES while deciding that Bioware DOES NOT make games that you like, and instead concentrate your time buying games you DO like. At least, that's the adult way of handlign the issue. Or, you can keep throwing temper tantrums and demanding that they change their entire style to just make games that YOU like, the hell with the people who already like what they're producing.
Only a complete and ineffable idiot would 'eagerly' await a new game from a company they despise which produces games they abhor. Which is why I fully expect to see you kvetching about how much you hate ME4 when it comes out

Hehehe. Thanks man, I needed the laugh. I mean, the complete and utter ludicrousness of someone who has been complaining about a freaking GAME for a year and a half accusing someone else of being extreme for insinuating that the game just isn't worth the angst some of ya'll put into it.

Have you played the Portal series yet? Or Deus Ex: Human Revolution (I wasn't exactly thrilled with its ending either but thought the ending dealt with the themes that the whole game had been about, so it was at least fitting). Or To the Moon.
Currently I'm playing the Half-Life series which is also well-designed, I'd say it's a brainy FPS.
I can understand that you're angry, but they won't change it anymore. So be an egoist - do something that is more fun to you than thinking of ME 3 ... play another game!

do I HAVE to quote Jessica?

Speaking of Jessica, anyone else watching Heroes of Cosplay?
(Just thought I'd derail the thread onto a productive topic)
on the upside she does sell herself short a lot and she should not

No. The analogy is apt. If it were say one or two people, then okay you'd be right. But oh my god it's amazing the amount of people who act like this was an unsurmountable crime against humanity. And okay you lot were angry when the game came out a year and a half ago, and okay the PR wasn't the most friendly (not that I blame them honestly, they tried and were just met with worse). But wow it is a year and a half later and I would not be surprised if some of you were in therapy over it today.

Call me crazy, but I think that might be an indication that the endings were bad

their first response was "OK, you told me what you did not like, now tell me what you liked" (trying to minimalize the issue) and "but we have 75 perfect reviews” (read "people who know better than you disagree")
their second one was "we are sorry you guys thought it was sub par and it hurts us" (notice the subject....it is your fault, and we are the victims)
and finally "you guys did not understand it so we will clarify it" (you guys are dull)
they generated, bar none, the harshest and most explosive negative backlash in the history of videogames
the analogy is not apt at all really, and you did not answer my question.

Regardless of that mass effect 3 was a solid project. it had a few bugs and fun multiplayer.
The pr was bad too. but who listens to pr anyway.
As for the story you got. you can accept and move on or work to change it with more people who care.

I'm mad that Bioware had the nerve to drum up ME3 as something wonderful - when it was not. There is a decided lack of effort in the game production - especially the intro, dealing with the council, and the ending.
Bioware played the 'art' card when the ending was criticized - and that's cool - but by the same token I too can go and eat a bunch of chillidogs and crap a masterpiece. My point? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - and I don't know many people who really liked the ending. One should not call a rancid dogfart art.
Bioware took the lazy approach. They lied and drummed it all up as some fabulous story - take back earth! What I got was
1) A supreme lack of effort
2) False advertisement. All that jazz about its not going to be a,b,c, but a rich choice of endings.... was all lies.
3) Terrible writing: Mac and Casey should never work on another project. At all. Ever. The overall direction and plot of ME3 is terrible
4) Plot holes and stupidities galore. This fits under terrible writing, but I think it is also due to loss of personnel that worked on ME1 and 2. The other two games had a quality to them - a magic. ME3 lacks that magic. I believe this is because Bioware was busy making people like Mac the Lead Writer, and ignoring the true talent in the company. The real talent moved on.
5) No boss fight. Instead of getting to finally kill Harbinger after having been repeatedly dogged for all of ME2, there is simply nothing. This lack of continuity shows how far they have fallen at even making games - much less being able to write them.
Have I moved on? Sure! Will I ever forgive them? Nope. I'll never pre-order anything from this company again.
I still show up, follow up on what's going on because this company used to be the best. Bioware had a magic that they put into their games. I want them to get that magic back! I want them to learn from their mistakes.
Perhaps if we write a decent story they can learn from those ideas like erezike suggested.
