Is it just me or are you still annoyed with the ME3 endings?

Sounds like a job for Blasto.

Pretty sure the OP has never played or seen the EC. I mean look at this:

3 months = 1 year apparently.

A clear indication he hasn't seen the EC.

I think they meant that it's been a year since the EC and now with the ME4 hype. Or at least I hope so.. but, yeah, a lot of their griping was addressed by it. So, I would agree that it's likely they haven't even seen the EC and just want to complain.

One and a half years... to most people it's a long enough time to cope with and move on after an ugly divorce or breakup, even a loved one's death... but it seems not enough for a stupid videogame's ending.

I was only annoyed after release. After 2 months of being pissed off about it I got used to the original ending, then the EC came out and fixed it for me. I was fine and happy with it. Today, I would not give a damn either way, since I don't play the games anymore (it does not mean I don't love it, I jus got bored of it after 4 trilogy playthroughs), plus I have a lot more to worry about than a videogame or its ending.

I heartily endorse this post. Hence why ME4 is going to be a tough sell for me personally.

The endings won't get better with time, certainly I'm still annoyed when I think about it.

So much time has passed. Can imagine in 2 years threads like this popping up when this section is dead, and ME4 is the new primetime.

Annoyed? After  almost 2 years?

I wish I capable of such bitterness.

understanding the ending means going back to ME1 and listening to Vigil. He explains everything that happens.

The passage of time will not make the endings better. The passage of time will only leave us more detatched from the characters we once loved and played. Detatched from the fun I used to have in this 'mass effect' universe.

However, I will NOT forget Bioware's lies and smarmy attitude towards the fans. I will not forget that they prefer hype to quality - and that they no longer have good writers.

Instantly I got the feeling that the Equine Reaper Larva would be played by Rob Schneider

Not so much annoyed, but my opinions haven't changed. I was just watching "The World's End" and the ending of that movie had some eerie similarities to that of Mass Effect 3.

(I made a thread about it, if you want to spoil the movie)

Frankly if I didn't see the movie I wouldn't even think about Mass Effect. To me it's pretty much like the movie "Batman and Robin". Sure it sucked, but nothing I say or not say would change the quality of something in the past. Nowadays ME is just that one liner similar to sliced bread... As in being surpassed by every new invention.

ME3 killed what I liked about Mass Effect and the ending ensured I could never care about it again unless they undid the ending or if they made a sequel that shows how the franchise could continue onwards. I cared A LOT about Mass Effect and it still bugs me thinking about that stupid ending. I'm not proactively hating on it anymore though. It is a dead horse but it's still annoying to think that we could've done without all these discussions had the ending been fine.

it will be, for me, always an example of how NOT to end a game and how NOT to handle fan backlash

I just hope the next game will have a wider variety of colours to choose from.

Seriously though, I have come to the point where I'm kind of indifferent about the endings... They're not gonna change and they're not gonna go away. Bioware is sticking to their 'vision', however dumb it may seem.

ME4 will have to pull nothing short of a miracle to bring back all the disgruntled fans around here.

Apparently Bioware thinks most people are completely ok with the ending so there is no reason to place any effort in bring back (non existing) disgruntled fans

Or that they're over the situation and are moving forward, like any rational studio would do.

It's a flawed, wacky ending to a videogame that thinks it's cleverer than it is. Hardly a first.

possible, still studios want to make $$$ so, given the fact the core audience is the audience that will most likely freely advertise the game for them online and buy their dlc I would say ME4 SHOULD try to bring them back (partly like DA:I is trying to do)
