Hello there! Just thought I would share something I noticed:

According to this video:

http://www.youtube.c...ZKaWc00#t=4m53s

An image of Hawke has appeared in the background files of dragonage.com on its recent update. When I saw this it instantly sparked something in my head...

Could this picture of the hooded figure presenting the helm and sword to the Inquisitor possibly be Hawke? (right click and open in a new tab or copy the image url and open in a new tab for a full size version)

Image IPB

This is the image of Hawke that appeared on the front page:

Image IPB

I can definitely see the similarities in the face. Could Hawke be involved in setting up the Inquisitor's rise? Its obvious that the developers have made it clear that they still hadn't finished up Hawke's story (with the cancelled DA2 expansion abandoned in favor of "The Next Thing" as they liked to put it).

UPDATE: In IGN's article about DragonAgeKeep, they have the following comment while speaking with Mark Darrah:

So does this mean Hawke and your Warden play an important role in Inquisition? Darrah says yes -- but BioWare won't elaborate on that just yet.

Probably leftover artwork from when dragonage.com was advertising Dragon Age 2. It doesn't look like new artwork.

Hawke and The Warden has no part in DA3. The evidence you provide is irreverent.

Obviously the Hawke image isn't new artwork. I could understand the leftover argument had this picture been there when the first Dragon Age Inquisition re-design went up, however this image was not present with the initial change after the E3 reveal. It wasn't until the new content was added that this image went in. The face on Hawke and the face on the hooded figure look identical to me.

Would you mind providing support for that sweeping statement?

Blurry people tend to look very similar. It's why you have trouble making out faces while nearsighted.

It also looks like Ezio. It looks like every guy with a dark beard.

Be that as it may, this was not intended to be an "omg that guy is Hawke" but rather the odd coincidence of an image of Hawke appearing on the dragonage.com page and the similarity between their two faces (Nose about the same shape, beard/goatee same style)

I think you are reading to much into it, for all we know that picture on the main website is the Inquisitor themselves presenting us the player the weapon.

The world is in chaos and The Warden and Hawke just sit on their ass? Unlikely.

The entire conflict in Thedas occurs within 50 yards of the Inquisitor.

just as likely as them showing up fully voiced and as temporary pcs. We have zero evidence either way. Move along people, nothing to see yet.

And I absolutely could be! But speculation is fun right? ;)

My only rebuttal to that would be that none of the faces shown when displaying the races (in the GameInformer article) had a beard. Generally Bioware has picked a generic look for the PC for a consistent marketing plan, and if the pictures of the different race "looks" are any indication of that then this character(hooded figure) is not intended to be the Inquisitor.

David Gaider confirmed that the story of the Warden "is over" and Hawke's was contuined throughout the DA2 DLCs.

I love my Warden and Hawke charecter as much as anyone else here, but eventually their book has to end at some point, and Gaider confirmed it.

I waaaaant to believeeeeeeeee!

Seriously though, I'd love to see Hawke & Warden in DA:I, but that's hardly proof. For all we know they might've just liked the design of Hawke's armour and have decided to reuse it. Until a developer confirms it, I remain cautiously optimistic.

Even though the "story" of the Warden is over, doesn't mean he/she would not make any appearance if still alive. That being said the point of this post is Hawke and not the Warden.

I don't recall Gaider saying anything about Hawke's being continued through DLC. What I do recall is them saying that DA2's ending was intentionally the way it was because they were going to resolve Hawke's story in the expansion (remember those teaser shirts about the Exalted March?) This was scrapped and rolled INTO Inquisition, so I think it is highly likely that Hawke's story will be at least addressed in DA:I.

If you look at the shoulderguard it looks suprisingly simulair to the champions armorset shoulderguard, add to that the blurry face with hawke's beardstyle it makes a rather good case for it being Hawke as we know of no other Champions in the Free Marches ATM.

The second image is Hawke. As in, it's old Hawke artwork with a filter applied.

The similarity to the first image is the one which I am referring to.

Don't forget that the Inquisitor can be an elf or a Dwarf too, so no, that's not Hawke. Actually, don't be surprise if Hawke doesn't even show up in person.

They both look like my Human Male Warden, so they must obviously be him.

Forgive me if I am misunderstanding, but what does the Inquisitor's race have to do with whether or not the hooded person is Hawke or not?

Erm, because the hooded person is supposed to be the Inquisitor?

We absolutely don't know that for sure. For all we know the hooded person could be presenting the sword and helm to the Inquisitor.

Hawke's story wasn't finished though. The last dlc was cancelled and the ending to DA2 had no closure to the character.
