Did you forget about DA:I is using different engine and Hawke is not only male with beard?

They can not bring Hawke back unless they canonize about his/her appearance which of course
will make a lot of fans pissed.

It looks like Hawke. Deffinatly. I wouldn`t go so far as to call it evidence that he will be in the game, though.

Ah but that is the difference in evidence...and proof;)

Thanks! Was just coming here to point this out.

"So does this mean Hawke and your Warden play an important role in Inquisition? Darrah says yes -- but BioWare won't elaborate on that just yet."

That's kind of subjective. Your Warden and your Hawke both shaped the world. Wether they have an appearance or not, they were important to the story of DAI.

So basically your argument is bioware sucks at making accurate statements?

I think that both stories are over, because basically Hawk was a failure. His job as The Champion was to sort things out. It says in the codex something like if The Champion appears either some thing bad has happened, or is about to happen. Almost the same description is used about Seekers. My Hawks both like to kick arse, but the circumstances and variables were way beyond their control; they could not have stopped the events in Kirkwall. No matter what their level of badassness was, they were destined to screw up. I think the whole point of it was to illustrate this

The Warden... Sorry, but they were a case of close, but no cigar. I found it hard watching the Warden's story unfold and getting the idea there was no fix especially when you think about the treaty quests. The warden was a patch and they killed the Archdemon (whether the warden died or not) knowing that blight would be ended, but the demon-taint-blight circle would begin all over again and there were supposed to be two Archdemons left. To paraphrase Riordan it was not enough.

So for all the abilities etc., both of them had. You are still left with the same races, factions whatever, glaring at each other, just as they were when when the Warden to Ostagar. What I want to find out is whether the Inquisitor is third time lucky and if something has been learned through past mistakes.

IGN asked a vague question. Bioware said "Yes."

I wouldn't call that a statement.

They are essentially giving players a choice to literally create and customize the world of dragon age the way we want without having to go back and replay the games until they find a suitable way to make save data make the jump to new platforms.

If you think they will give much more info than saying they are going to have a role this early then i don't know what the tell you since it's the same with Morrigan they said she's going to have a significant role in the story but beyond that they aren't saying.

It's the samething with Leliana they confirmed she will be in the game and that they've been building her up to be the agent of the divine but beyond that they aren't saying yet, ign asked a vague question they answered yes what the extent of their role is in inquisition is completely unknown other than it will be important.

Valid point. However I think asking such a loaded question like "Will Hawke or the Warden have an important role in DA:I?" implies a bit more than just mere "effect only" and not in appearance.

The blurry image is obviously the mage Hawke promotional shot. Though I would assume it's just the web design department taking shortcuts rather than relaying something that will actually be in the game (it's just proof that they know how to reuse art assets).

The Inquisition image is not Hawke. It's just "generic faceless man of great import who has something for The Chosen One".

Blurry people tend to look very similar. It's why you have trouble making out faces while nearsighted.

When things are blurry you also tend to see what you wan't to see.

True, but that also doesn't immediately discredit the similarities either. Obviously with something like this, if it were true, Bioware is not going to post clear cut images.

Hopefully Hawke will appear, even if it's for a while. I'd be ok with that... i love her too much.
And i don't care about warden tbh.

I think the prime difference would be that I am clearly offering speculation. Not trying to make a ridiculous absolute statement that I couldn't possibly know the answer to.

Geez I forgot how nasty these boards can be...

I honestly thing its wishful thinking that the cloaked figure is Hawke, I honestly don't see the connection people are making, I can pick out more differences then similarities.

The figure in the cloak is probably the inquisitor not Hawke, and as for Hawke appearing they haven't ruled anything out are hesitant to announce something involving Hawke and the warden because of fans chafing at the mere mention of them and don't care anymore if they appear in the game or not since i'm getting tired of hearing about them and people fighting about them.

That image was accidentally unloaded when they were uploading other images during an update of that site and once they noticed they immediately deleted it which could mean a few different things but who knows.
