I preordered this nearly a year ago and then all this garbage happened about changed release dates, THQ going under, the game changing hands, and now no release date... I just want the game to come out already!

It is truly amazing how the game looks almost exactly like the show even in the gameplay. I think thats as big of an accomplishment visually as any nextgen flashy visuals.

As long as they have hallucinogenic urine, I don't care what their politics are.

Anyway, really excited for this game. It can't come soon enough.

And that is how you make a South Park game.

The animation really is seamless, they couldn't have done better. Looks like the gameplay has a very Paper Mario-esque feel(which shouldn't be surprising at all). I have to at least buy this baby.

All hail hypnocartman.

Oh look, it's coming out in March.

I brought this coffin for the game and it cost £10.

They must have monkeys deciding the release date. The release is SIX DAYS after Dark Souls 2.

And I thoroughly expect it to have bugs considering Obsidian have been working on other games and the numerous push backs for this game and almost non-existent marketing surely speak for themselves.

R.I.P South Park The Strick of Truth (not that I intended to buy it in the first place, I hate South Park).

Pfff. Dark Souls 2 and South Park RPG fans are DEFINITELY not a demographic that overlap on a close enough occurence for anyone to be scared.

I'm super pumped for this game. Given some comments from Matt Stone and Trey Parker, I feel like it may be one of the last farewells to the series, in all honesty.

This. But I'm assuming he said that just to take shots at South Park. He hates it.

Hates gonna hate. I know for sure I'll be enjoying both games.

That's kind of my approach. I love South Park. And I love turn based RPGs like this. Even if the game is terribad, I'll still probably enjoy it on a few levels.

You really think the release of Dark Souls 2 will impact sales of other games?

Yep. At least in the RPG genre. The first game sold over 2.3 million units. It's not the "niche" title the DkS elitists make it out to be. It's also releasing next to Divinity: Original Sin. Another turn-based game for an established RPG franchise.

Remember what happened when Amalur went up against two established franchises?

Of course I'm not saying Obsidian is suddenly going to bomb but I doubt this game will fair well. It's a ridiculous release period too especially when nearly everyone has brought into the hype of next-gen where only established IP's will fair well on last-gen.

Combine that with the lack of activity and talk for this game and it doesn't take a genius to work out what this means. Even on the official Obsidian forums there's only like 6 pages for this game discussing it in contrast to the 154 pages for Pillars of Eternity and people ask if "I'm for real" in predicting that this game will bomb?

I guess it might sell well maybe to some South Park fans but since when have RPG's and South Park gone together? Not just any RPG but TURN-BASED too? Yeah I'm sure the majority of South Park fans will love a real niche genre on consoles (turn-based RPG's).

Probably because people doesn't have much hope for a game based on a licensed series to be spectacular, whereas a direct sequel with minimal changes to a succesful franchise is a safer buy, which to a degree is understandable - However, Arkham Asylum didn't exactly get anyones hopes up about a good Batman game a few years back and look how that turned out in the end. Obsidian's games, most of them anyway, have usually been more entertaining than most games that call themselves RPGs in recent years.

No way am I gonna get DS2 on release. If it is anything like DS1 it will be a buggy unplayable mess for the first 2 months. And South park being obsidian will have the same problem.

2.3m units is a relatively small release for AAA games these days. I'd say South Park is a more established franchise than Divinity or Dark Souls.

At any rate, the gameplay footage looks like a lot of fun, eagerly awaiting this one. Also looking forward to Original Sin and DS2 (provided the PC version is not going to be locked with a weird resolution again).

It's south park so all three are likely to be correct.
