Not to mention that if certified BAMFs Tyrion and Victarion weren't both about to show up and help save the day, Meereen would most definitely be screwed.

Tyrion and Victarion are truly wasted on Dany.

I'm really hoping Martin pulls a Martin and has her painful... everything lead to some kind of hilariously ironic death.

It's obvious the original intent is Snow and Daenerys. Ice and Fire. And that they're the two kept out of the civil war.

But given that it's obvious, he's almost certain to change it if he hasn't decided to already.

Just have Aegon take the dragons after Danny gets removed, give him some magical deus ex machina to cure Shireen, marry Shireen, probably kill Stannis, and rule the Seven Kingdoms.


Edit: As for the topic, as long as it fits with the story and doesn't seem forced or too gimmicky, go for it.

Stannis becomes leader of the white walkers, killed by daenerys, who in turn dies as well in the struggle, hence the freezing to death.

And tommen becomes king of everything, becuase nobody cares about him and all his rivals have been crippled, maimed, decimated, killed, or otherwise disposed of fighting eachother.

Okay, I love Stannis, but I just don't see it working out. He is too much like Coriolanus (just watched that movie recently, can't stop thinking about it), really principled and really respectable, but others just can't stand him because they are too fearful, proud, and greedy.

They already kind of went for this angle with the betrayals of the human noble origin and the battle of Ostagar. I thought it worked well there but killing the main character based on some actions in the distant past of the game would be a faux pas. Players have to be able to make mistakes without being forced to replay a huge amount of content.

I do think that doing something like this with one of your companions would be ok as long as it was handled well but they would have to kind of guess who players would have an emotional connection to and that's how you wind up with forced scenes like the sibling/mom deaths in DA2.
