Such tactics are generally a cheap and easy way to feign maturity.

Unfortunately, just about any kind of subversive art, including fiction, gets lauded by some people merely on the grounds of being subversive.

David7204 again discusses something he never read/watched/played.

It'd be awesome if the Inquisitor could pull a Red Wedding on another faction

Stare and say "Well ****" and then start hating everyone so Bioware doesn't kill favorites.

If talking about the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, I couldn't disagree more. George RR Martin is one of the best writers of all time in the fantasy genre.

No thanks, I found quite a bit of scenes to be emotionally forced in my opinion. Don't want to see that again unless it is necessary. Such as a certain mistake or whatnot.

Robb was betrayed by the Boltons and Freys due to several key mistakes. ( executing karkstark, breaking his vows, etc )

It is a storytelling tool like any other. There's a fair chance it could feel derivative of anything between ASoIaF and Hamlet, but I wouldn't shoot down the idea necessarily.

You may want to have something like that as one of many potential endings/scenarios/etc. Does it necessarily have to be an on-rails killfest, or can certain events previous to that moment determine said event?

No thanks. Shepard already kills 200 000 innocent batarians in Arrival. Not like I love batarians that much.

Honestly I'd love it if they had the Balls to do somthing like this:lol:. Not without having a VERY, VERY strong reason mind you or Just cuz

"Hey guys! You know the cast we spent the last  2 years writing? You Know! The Characters the players are now emiotionally attached to after 30hours of gameplay? Call me sadistic but... how about we kill them all off in the most Brutal & horrific way possible! Something like in Game of Thrones? I'm sure the fans would love us after that!!  Yeah Lets do it!:police:"

It would suck sure, but the reaction on the BSN would be worth it IMO:lol:

I doubt Bioware would find the backlash entertaining. We had subscribed to HBO to watch GoT. We cancelled that subscription the day we viewed that episode.

Sansa might get a grasp of it and utilize it before the series is over

I once suspected Sansa would become Cersei 2.0, but it seems she will be the tool of others' ambition forever.

If it was the cascaded end result of a series of choices i would be quite happy for such a event to be present. As a railroaded event where cherished characters are offed is not something i would view acceptable in a RPG centred around choice.

It's been done, sort of , called the human noble origin story. As for the reaction it depends entirely on the premise, cheap throw in would warrant laughter and/or annoyance at the shanty work. A well thought out "red wedding"that fits in to the story and good characters involved then I will sit in stun silence for a moment then cry.

That's all she has been thus far. I still think she may do something during these last two books. She'll have the Vale and possibly the North behind her. Maybe others as well.

The best pie you have ever tasted, my Lords. Wash it down with Arbor Gold and savor every slice. I know I shall.

I would react badly. Leave GRRM and his grisly tales where they belong...not in a BioWare game. :/

Yeah I lost most of my interest in Game of Thrones after the Red Wedding. Including the same thing in a Dragon Age game might result in a similar loss of investment. And if there's one thing that Game Developers don't love it's making people less inclined to buy the rest of their stories.

I said before I don't think it would work well in a video game anyway. The Fall of the Couslands and the Battle of Ostagar were similar on an emotional punch level, but the PC survived both of those and continued his or her adventure. If the Red Wedding was recreated in Dragon Age: Origins, it'd probably be something like the Warden and Alistair and most of their allies are executed at the Landsmeet and you always play as Loghain for the final section of the game to defeat the Archdemon.

And if you make it an optional consequence that would A) probably just cause people to reload and B) I don't know much about what happens in the books after the Red Wedding but I'm assuming most of the plot that follows couldn't have happened without it. I imagine it's not an "optional" part of the story arc of A Song of Ice and Fire.
