Sarcasm is 1/2 dialogue, and 1/2 delivery (expression, emotion, and movement). Only in DA2 did we get a talking protagonist, so I wouldn't say the warden was THAT sarcastic.

The line is quite sad, actually. It's really not as much of a joke or really all that humorous. Varric and Isabella on the other hand, holy **** were they out of line the entire time.

Snarky sarcastic Hawke remains as one of my favourite protagonists. Couple Sarcastic Hawke with a party consisting of Merril, Varric, and Isabella, and I was laughing every 5 minutes or so.
