If it meant that, right. That's exactly why Bio's not going to do this unless the characters will appear in DAI.  They won't commit to anything for a game they haven't even started writing yet.

Anyway, you really think that anyone besides you would be happy to design their Warden and never see him in DAI, because that would  mean he might show up in a game in 2017 or 2018? (And would probably need to be re-designed for that game anyway)

Why not though? The voice and appearance of the Warden/Hawke is no less important than doing the Dark Ritual or not. Or annulling Kirkwall's Circle. Or banging Isabela at the Pearl. Or returning Bevin his granfather's sword.

The consequences of these decisions might never be touched on again, but what's important is that the Keep will already have that information if BioWare one day decides to utilize it.

Better to have it and not need it than the alternative...

I think they could pull off the masked/hooded route fairly well. I just honestly don't see it fitting into the game story to not feel odd. BUT, I no investment emotionally either way so however it ends up is fine by me.

I would love to meet the Warden or Hawke in the new game. For me, it is kind of ridicolous that the protagonists of bioware games always disappear after a new main character is introduced. It would be so interesting to meet them and see them from a different perspective.

I had the idea that the Inquisitor could be on some mission - or back home at Skyhold - and a masked/helmet-wearing/cloaked figure puts in an appearance.  Maybe they just show at the door of the keep.  Maybe they wade in on a big battle and help out.  Maybe (my favourite) Isabela shows up with a fleet of ships plus a special passenger - or they arrive with one of the other LI characters from DAO or DA2.

You see them with their face covered initially but as they reveal their face the camera views them from behind so you get the reaction shot from the Inquisition crew.

"By the Maker!  Is that-?"  "Yes, yes it is..."

Cue the character creator plus picture from your online BSN profile for reference.  It's remake your Warden/Champion time!

I should have been more explicit. I'm expecting that most people who use a CC for the Warden and then don't get any Warden in DAI  would be disappointed, even if the Warden still might possibly show up in DA4 or DA5. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've seen people freak out when their hopes are dashed often enough.

Personally, I don't really give a damn. I'm probably not going to like the way Bio writes my Wardens whatever they look like, so having them come back doesn't strike me as a great idea anyway.

There is a twitter thread in this section where people post twitter posts from bioware, I would look at that too from time to time if you don't want to go to twitter specifically.

I really don't know why anyone thinks Bioware would add in a cc for the warden or hawke. If they make a cameo their are appearance will most likely decided in one of several ways. Lets start with the warden. Since you could have male or female of the three races and had multiple faces for each of these there are a lot of possibilities for what you chose in DAO. The question is whether bioware wants to take the time and money to make the faces in the new engine for all of them, one for each gender of each race or just one default face. There is obviously going to be a flag for race and gender of the warden in the keep but I don't know if they will recognize every little customizable face option like which specific face and tattoos and so on. It makes the most sense to me to just have 6 faces. One for each gender of each race. Then theirs all the different hairstyles. Another huge problem is the voice. In DAO you just choose a general tone for the grunts and war-cries your warden made. How do you choose a VA off that? And then we come to Hawke. Hair color, hair type, skin color, face structure. All these things create so many possibilities. Hawke already has the VA's so that wouldn't be an issue but the rest is. It just sounds like a HUGE amount of work for them to make the warden or hawke have a cameo and respect how players customized theirs. Maybe this is alot easier then I think or maybe bioware planned on doing this kind of thing from the start and they budgeted the time to do it. I doubt it

Honestly, I believe we will never see hawke or the warden face to face again. We will most likely hear about it second hand from our companions or random people on the street like in DA2.

They already have a cc that would work all they need to do is modify it. The Inquisition one that is used to make the Inquisitor has all the options in it. They would just need to implement a code system for the diferent options that can be made and remove the options for the Qunarri. Then put it in it's own program for us to download. The code that is generated would have all the info that is needed for the appearence. That code could be put into the Keep as a string. Since the code came from the same CC that Inquisition uses Inquisition can easily create the appearence of our warden and Hawke. Hair and all.

As for the Voice Actor for origins, They had a few people that did the diferent tones of your warden so they could just get them to do the voices.

Again this is just one way that it can be done, and it is up to Bioware to impement it if they want. It's all up to them if they want to do it for the fans.

^ You're setting that up as though not including a character creator for the Warden/Hawke means Bioware aren't listening to "the fans", or not doing the right thing by "the fans".

What if it's not worth all that effort for what could be a five minute cameo? Why on earth should they go to the effort of making a downloadable character creator that links to the Keep? For what reason? Hiring six different voice actors for the Warden and Hawke is a pretty tall ask.

At some point it's surely just an unnecessary idea, *even if* those two characters were going to have an important role.

And I very much dislike the suggestion that fully-voiced characters with custom faces are somehow the best option that is universally preferred. I, for one, couldn't care less. I'd probably prefer them to spend their time and money making the Inquisitor's story interesting, not embellishing two characters who already had entire games.

Or rather, we could easily create some vague approximation of the earlier character's appearance.

Concerning the Warden/Hawke possible cameo ---- I don't care how they look. I gave them the personality they have, and I can give that again even if they look different. The choices I made in the games is where all the personality comes from.

I just want to see most, if not all the possible choices in each game in the Keep, even the smalles choices/decisions.

What about the fans that don't want Bioware to further violate their characters by inventing new character breaking plots for them to take part in? DA:A was bad enough in terms of breaking any Warden that isn't 100% <3 GWs; do they really need to ****** twice on the same character?

They need weight this. Are there more fans that want to see their warden or are their more that don't. Maybe they can set a flag in the Keep that will make them not show up. Therefore allowing both to be satisfied. People that want to see their Warden and Hawke can set the flag to allow them to be in a new game. While people who don't can set it so they wont be there.

Considering Hawke is a voiced character and a bit closer to Shepard in the style of how DA2 is. I think its more likely we will get a cameo of Hawke than we would with the Warden. Warden would probably be better if it was kinda like a Mario trying to save Princess Peach in the sense that we just missed the Warden and maybe keep trying to track him/her down.

In my opinion i Think that it is importent to have a cameo of either the warden or hawke considering the loose threads we recieved after DA2 and Witch hunt.

Bioware cannot keep on letting main characters like this just disappear. I Think that it would satisfy many that just to see them in a cameo in DAI.

Technicly both characters are voiced. It's just that the Warden didn't speak during dialog options. The Warden still said thing for like opening chests, doors, and attacking enemies. As far as how they put them in the story, anyone's guess. They haven't even said they were going to be in the game or not. This seems to be quite a large topic of contention. Many fans are conflicted as to weither they want them to even be in the game. If they do put them in, there are several options that can be used to make it so. In the end all of us are just going to have to wait and see what happens.
