Every decision is optional content. What makes this any diferent?
If it's for a five-minute cameo, though, that's a lot of work for not much return.

Especially since now it's a five minute meaningless cameo.

From what I remember of the ending of DA2. It sounded as if they might have more than a five minute cameo. Lilianna was looking for them, because they were needed.
Wait... a page ago you were saying that their appearance ought to be completely optional. Pick one.

I'm just saying that I think it will be more than a 5 minute cameo. As far as weither or not they show up, some people have expressed intrest in not seeing them at all so a flag in the keep would be a way to not have them show up. While others who want to see their Warden and Hawke could have their wish. Both sides are happy. People who don't want to see them can have corrispondance, while the others can see them in person.
So it's longer than five minutes, but still unimportant?

I rather doubt they would do this, to be honest. Sure, they're going to respect the history of our Warden/Hawke with regard to the choices they made (hence the Keep), but if they, specifically the Warden, are alive, we as players no longer have a say. That character belongs to Bioware now.
This is the reason I would prefer to not have them in a future game at all. I don't mind some reference as dialog or something minor, but not an appearance.
In the end though, I actually don't care that much. I would probably be happy with the reference, even if it's a cameo. If I wasn't I would just dismiss it and move on. It will likely be a very small part of a very large game with a lot more to occupy my interest than this issue. A badly done cameo is not likely to destroy the game for me. However, I do understand that it is very important to some players.
Underline emphasis is mine.
Why is that a false expectation? Obviously it's a plot thread we intend to play with. It's not going to be with you playing as the Warden, however -- ultimately that character is ours now, and while we'll tread as carefully as we can, the fact remains that new plots may use them in some capacity.
Contravention of headcanon is always a possibility whenever a sequel's involved. Gosh, I can't imagine the gnashing of teeth that would have occurred if we had used the Warden as the protagonist in DA2 and had something happen to them that they didn't imagine in their head-- like Leliana being alive. Oh noes! On that point, I'm afraid we will simply have to invoke authorial prerogative. Sorry. Hope it all makes sense once you see it play out, and thus eases your concern... but I can't promise that'll be the case.

How is it unimportant if they are part of the story either way. The only diference is wiether you see them or not. I mean if you think this in unimportant then thats your opinion. Personally I find any decsision in the game to have some importance. The only diference is wiether you actually see them or not.
I'll keep saying it: they really shouldn't bother trying to incorporate the Warden or Hawke into Inquisition. It'll just be a huge headache for everyone.

I'll keep disagreeing with you: Warden and/or Hawke showing up would be awesome and totally worth the effort from Bioware, IMO.

I'd rather they didn't show up at all. I'd rather the story focus on other aspect then on my Warden/Hawke. I love the characters but I will be disappointed to see them if they showed up in a default appearance or something.
Not bothered enough to read through 113 pages... Is there an definite launch date for DA Keep already?
They said that it will be running a month or so before the game releases. So around September time frame. Heres hoping they are on time or early.

I hope it's really in depth. Like Morrigan's Ring in Witch Hunt in depth.
I'm curious to see how many choices are truly reflected. Mostly because I think there will be many (if not the majority) that you can set up that will still not have any noticeable difference in DA:I at all.
I hope almost all, if not all, choices are available in the Keep. It is the only way it actually makes sense if you take into account that a future game may rely on particular choices DAI doesn't. I can't see them requiring us to have to rebuild the world state from scratch again with a future title because they forgot or omitted certain choices from the previous two games in the current Keep. It is just best to have all choices available, just in case. It makes it easier on the gamers and developers both.

It is would be great to be given the opportunity to customize the Warden and Hawke in the keep.
I say so because FIFA has software similar to the keep which allows for player creation and customization over 3 games actually.

Yes it does. BioWare should give EA Sports a call.
Well, part of the impetuous for making the keep a website in the first place was the ease with which a website might be updated later as opposed to a download.I hope almost all, if not all, choices are available in the Keep. I really don't understand why people have such difficulty understanding that the character of the Warden is BioWare's. They're not going to be accommodate the headcanon of every player that thinks they own the Warden character. Yes, each player put their own stamp on that character, but at the end of the day, the character is BioWare's and the guys running the show can do what they want with him or her.
