Don't we want them to address the last round of feedback before issuing invites to a new round of testing?

"Soon" means definitely before October lol.
I hope so. You never know. lol ![]()
The idea of the keep sounds good in theory, I'm just worried that the lack of a CC means that if The Warden or Hawke do make an appearance, it will be as some bland looking default that's the same for all world-states in which they're alive. *Shudders at the thought of seeing stupid looking default male Hawke again*
I don't know how much Frostbite can do for a character model that seems to be based on the sheriff of Nottingham from Men in Tights... please Bioware if you're gonna have them make an appearance with no available CC, don't replace my custom Hawke with the likes of the Sheriff of Nottingham. Maybe they'll be wearing helmets or something.
I liked the default male Hawke. I played with the default male Hawke.
Which is an argument in itself for the Keep to come with a CC. The Warden and Hawke might show up in DA:I or they might not. They might show up in DA5. It all depends on what BioWare wants to do. Having the players recreate their PCs now while they still remember them would be the most opportune time to collect this data. It would make things more expedient for the developers if/when they decide to move the Warden's/Hawke's story forward.
Again, wouldn't that lock Bio into not making any changes in facegen between DAI and later games? Even the minor upgrades in ME2 and ME3 broke some faces, and that was a series where importing the previous Shepard was an important design constraint. What chance is there that a game designed without such a constraint wouldn't break faces wholesale?
Or would that not matter anyway? I can see not really remembering what my Wardens looked like in a few years. So even if the DA4, 5, or whatever version of the Warden didn't look all that much like whatever vague approximation of the Warden I'd created with the CC this year, maybe I wouldn't notice the difference?
Also, I'd bet we'd see a lot of complaining from people if we use a CC to make a Warden and there's no Warden in DAI. That would be seen as an implicit promise, I think. Though the question is whether Bio thinks that, of course.

Whether the protag defaults appeal to us or not is of course completely subjective to the individual. The point I was more trying to make was just that if the Keep doesn't include a CC and our previous protagonists do appear, I worry that previously customized characters will essentially be retconned into looking like the default, which if nothing else is a bit immersion breaking. This situation is unlikely, but the possibility still concerns me enough to mention it.

If there is a disclaimer in the cc that wont be a problem. Besides with the amount of interest they could always put them in a dlc. Maybe you need to track them down, or something. There is still dev time between going gold and release.
I have this feeling in DAI we will be able to make our Warden and Hawke just to purely tease us. But I hope it comes at the end of the game so it seems like we will either see them in a DLC or the next DA game.
I am actually hoping maybe the three protagonist thing is a setup for a much larger DA game to follow DAI.

If they show up in a DLC, put the CC in the DLC.
The dlc will be added to the game that would not make sense. Especially if the dlc was like return to ostigar in functionality.

Well I agree with Warden_of_all, CC for them being at the end of the game would be better. It shows us they plan to do something with them in the future and maybe in a dlc for Inquisition. It would be better if we are only alluded to being able to see them than they nail it for a future game or dlc with the CC at the end of the game.
They said the keep will make sure your choices were possible in an actual playthrough. But what if it becomes possible through multiple playthroughs? My warden was a blood mage pretty early on because I unlocked blood magic during a previous playthrough. While in the fade to free Connor from the demon, I chose to make a deal with the demon... to sleep with it. Would it be possible to say my warden is a blood mage (or any specialization) in the keep without including the choice that would unlock said specialization?
I doubt it.
Why not? You can do it in the game. So it should work in the keep.

I know what you mean, it's definitely a tricky one. If we can't have "our" Warden and "our" Hawke, do we really want to see them at all? I know I'd rather they put the effort in so we can see our old characters again "properly" as it were.
There's not really an ng+ in game, it's just that when you unlock specializations they become unlocked for every playthrough. Meaning that your first playthrough, yes you will have to do that but every other playthrough you play there after - which I would count as regular playthroughs you can be the specializations without having to make the same choices. However again I don't know because I haven't tested the keep myself which is why I posted the question here, hoping a dev or someone who has tested it and feels that it wouldn't be spoiling anything would respond.Isn't the only way to do it in the game though to have a NG+? If it's not one of the options on a regular play through I don't see it being possible.
If it's possible without NG+ then I misunderstood.
Someone suggested we create them at the end if the game as a way to say that they ate a part of a dlc like witch hunt was done separate from the main game. I don't know would rather have them in a dlc like return to ostigar where we see them in our main game if we choose to have the dlc. If the dlc is loaded then create them in the beginning of the game while we are setting up our inquisitor. maybe allow us to save them after our initial creation so we can import them in on a second playthrough or something.
