I tried to visit Dragon Age Keep and got a High Risk Website Blocked.

I got the error too, but I found out why: don't type www.dragonagekeep.com, but dragonagekeep.com. With the www before dragonagekeep.com you get the hijacked page error

i'm confused about this if i play this on 360 were my saves are will i still be able to import my saves or do i have to use this keep thing. Just wondering because I was thinking of playing through both games again but if we have to use the keep there is no point in playing them lol.

From the sound of it they are still trying to make it possible to import your saves directly as well.

See, I read their statements as saying the exact opposite. They are looking at a way you can import your save INTO THE KEEP, so it will spit out a proper save file in whatever format/platform you want. But that you would NOT be able to use a prior game Save File without using this website.

So we make our saves on the internet on a computer or something, and will those save imports will be connected to our Origin account or something? And we can make multiple saves, or multiple playthroughs?

And a question I know there probably won't be an answer to as of yet, but will be the Keep be updated with Inquistion's choices when DA4 is announced?

This is exciting news! I am currently replaying DAO and was going to move on to do Awakening Witches Hunt and DA2. But I always like to have one male and one female "perfect" game so it will take a long time to get through it. It sounds like I dont have to replay the series twice to get the story I want which is thrilling!

I love the fact that you can test different scenarios....

But here is my question: what would be the advantage, if any, of importing a game save into the Keep?

As far as I can determine from given answers so far:
- You create the saves on the Internet/cloud, those will be tied to your EA account which you'll need to login with in DA:I if you want to import the saves. Logic dictates that you can make multiple saves/playthroughs, but who knows?
- As for the second, I doubt even Bioware knows that yet.

We can have different saves states for different playthroughs of DA:i right?

I don't work directly on the Keep, so I will start to back off somewhat on giving too many details (simply because I may be wrong), but the idea that people have many different characters is definitely not lost on us (and is in fact feedback I know has been voiced internally when the idea was first planted).

In any case, I'm going to have to disengage somewhat because today's my last day before PAXPAXPAXPAXPAX and I need to get some stuff done before EOD.

Fair Enough, One merely wonders, though I still wonder if it is because I am being rather obtuse, if so apologies Mr. Schumacher.

Can we customize our Hawke/Warden appearance? That was, IF they appear they will look like our own Hawke/Warden

Alan said that: "..There aren't plans to directly import from save games into DAI..."

There is not much rational in it, but I dislike the idea. It's like using a save editor instead of your own previous file. I understand, that it does a good thing, but I dislike it nevertheless. A 3rd party service or utility stands between two games of mine. The magic of importing will be gone, I'm afraid. :)

I'm glad console players will get their official save-gen with respected choices, though.

Now THAT is good question. I doubt import is possible, but still...

I won't sign for the beta. Not because I don't think this is a good idea; actually, it's quite the opposite. But because I'm a lazy **** and will be more of a liability than any help.

But this is great news, and I was hoping for something like this. Why make things complicated when they can be this simple?

Okay, that may cause a few facepalms. It's probably hard, but easier than trying to solve a solution to old-gen to next-gen imports? Bah! What do I know (surprisingly little! xD)

Good work BioWare!

If you happen to use Sophos: I just googled Mal/HTMLGen-A and Sophos apparently creates a lot of false positives. However, I'll see if I can find an online scanner that runs its scans on webpages and put the DA Keep site through it.
Edit: It appears to be that Sophos is the only one who detects that malware. Bitdefender flags it because the URL domain/host has been known to host badware at some point.

Liking this overall. There are some decisions I never manage to make (siding with werewolves, Connor dead etc) - it would be interesting to be able to play a game based around these. Also gets around some of the bugs in the current import system (Zev and Warden romance n DA2, for example). I am especially intrigued by the idea of being able to 'recreate' Wardens and Hawkes - if this includes their physical appearance, then wow I could really have fun with this.

A couple of reservations:

If this is really going to satisfy as an alternative to the save import, then it needs to be very comprehensive. Genesis was fun, but there was a fair bit of fluff left out, and that sort of stuff can be what makes a playthrough feel unique to the player.

I would hope for an offline version of The Keep, at least in the event of servers being shut down. Otherwise what, we're lumbered with a default world state every time we start DA:I? I still play Baldur's Gate for goodness sake, if this game is any good it'll be on my hard drive for a loooong time! I imagine this is something the Bio people have thought of, but it is worth pointing out (repeatedly :P) nonetheless :)

Well, if Keep is "just" a website, I can't see it having a real 3D character generator. I doubt something like that would run in a web browser. So my guess is no.

I prefer it so much more to importing. The worldstate is all about your memories. You get to mold it to fit your experience, carrying the same data. This way, you avoid all the bugs (ideally). You can have the same Warden name, etc. What more could you want?

we really aren't going to be able to import our saves between platforms and that 'The Keep' is their sole solution, they just don't want to say, "Hey guys, this is our final answer..." because they know a lot of people will crap themselves in fury irrationally even if there really is, fundamentally, no difference between importing the save files and selecting all the details of all the choices you made in previous games via The Keep.

Mark is talking about importing into the Keep, as it would expedite setting up the world state for your game to recognize. There aren't plans to directly import from save games into DAI. So in that sense, yes the Keep is our sole solution. It'd be really, really good for some people, especially those with a lot of characters, to be able to speed the process along by importing, which is what Mark is referring to with his investigation.

And as far as I am aware, it should include DLC and expansions as well. (I'd be infinitely surprised if they were omitted).

Sounds interesting, particularly for those of us who are planning to transfer platforms, which would be a pain in the arse without the keep implementation.

I do have a single question, how many of one's decisions will be implemented in the keep, is it all the permiations on rulers, romances, dark rituals, who made the final sacrifice, if any, depending on if a character is hardened or not etc? Or is it limited in scope to major geo political events?

By the way, will more be added to this? Since it says 'beta' I'm wondering if we have to use it now?

I think it's a great idea. I could finally play with the import respecting the decisions I made, plus solving the previous games' bugs (looking at you, Awakening).
