I'll take that bet. I'm figuring it will be 15-20%. 50-60% of players won't have anything to import, of course.

It depends on how popular DA:I is, though. A game that flops commercially might have a high % of imports. We need a good way to get scale factored.

Still - I'd be willing to bet that the percentage of players who pull data from the Keep will be in the single digits. Unless there are some pretty clear prompts and integration of the website (such as the game prompts the player to connect to it and enter in their world state flags whenever they start a new game), I doubt enough people even know that it exists, let alone what would be required to use it.

Wait, what?

Why wouldn't there be a prompt in the new game menu?

It'll be the *very first thing*! Probably written in enormous font. "Import a world state from the Keep" or "Use default world state" are literally the only two options they'll have.

No they may not matter to the inquisitor, but that does not mean they won't matter to me/the player.  I mean to the Inquisitor it might just be something inconsequential, just another thing in the masses, but I myself might recognise it as something I potentially did.  I think that'd be fun and  more personal knowing that I helped create the world I'm playing as the Inquisitor in now, even if they don't recognise that.  Perhaps just wishful thinking, but still, fingers crossed on my part.

I have a feeling we might just be left with default character models for The Warden/Champion, oh well.

Thanks for the info though, hopefully it all works itself out.  :)

The Shino avatar is right, I am looking forward to seeing if we can spot the difference in each playthrough depending on what I did in past games

There are decisions you made in the past games which only mattered to your character but would be completely out of place for your new character to hear or see about. I just don't why inconsequential decisions should play out for your inquisitor.

I'm still waiting on any Dragon Keep interaction with beta-ed breath (get it?)  I think it is a wonderful to help continue a great series of Dragon Age!

I disagree that they are inconsequential. There are going to be characters from the first and second game in this game both as protagonists and possible antagonists and those decisions and their effects on DAI would not be inconsequential to them and how they react.

You misunderstand... the option to use your DA Keep Save will be there, of course. But if you had no idea about the Keep before firing the game up, will the game prompt you to visit the site, through your PC or console browser, and set things up? THAT'S what I'm talking about.

Almost certainly yes. It'd be silly not to have it there, IMO.

Ditto agreement on this.

And from what they've said about the Keep it's as much for new players (background, lore, important NPCs) as returning players (importing world-states).

Does anyone know if we can import saves into the Keep? Or will we have to rebuild them manually

At the moment, the best information we have is that you need to rebuild them from scratch.

Yet we've heard nothing about how this may or may not be the case.

True, but we haven't heard much on the Keep in general either.

Agreed. I also figure that physical copies of the game will have an insert in them telling about the keep.

This makes sense because why would they go through all the trouble of creating the Keep, all that time, energy, money, and effort if they weren't going to want the new people to try it and promote it to people playing the game? Especially since they're going to be using this type of import system in the future they'll want to introduce and get people old and new used to it as soon as possible.

You will have to rebuild them manually there isn't any type of import for Dragon Age: Inquisition at this time and I believe they have said in the past they want to treat all platforms equally, so if you can't do it from one they won't add that feature.  From what limited knowledge I have about consoles both Microsoft and Sony are restrictive to what a developer can do with player data, such as they can't open a player's data outside of the console.

..but..but.. That's just ridiculous! A lot of details affect how future games are played out, along with the big choices. I wouldn't feel like it would be my world state if I didn't import it exactly. Furthermore, to make my import exactly how I want it, if even possible, would take sooooo long. #ragequit

If you can't remember your world-state well enough to get it right with the Keep, how would you know that you'd gotten it wrong later on?

Yes, but given all the as-yet unknown stuff about the game, I think that not knowing what will display on the main menu is understandable.

It's not as if they necessarily make a big affair of the things, but I don't see how it would be out of place to encounter them/their effects.  They can still be a fun inclusion, take DA2 for example when you run into the people involved with the Werewolves from DA:O, while that's a bigger moments it is still the same general idea.  I mean it could even just be a change in dialogue or possibly something you just hear in passing, but I personally think little things like that are could only be positive.

That would depend entirely on the degree of their involvement,
