Getting kind of nervous that this won't be working in time (or at all).  The lack of any updates about it and the fact that a workable version was supposed to be "several months out" is causing me concern.  I hope they don't have to water it down because they got too ambitious.

I'm sorry but what in the world are you talking about? They said that the closed beta would be sending invites several months ago which it is and has been. They have said for quite some time that the Keep would not be open to the public until about a month before release. So in what is this in regards to? Cause it sounds silly.

I'd like to know where people keep getting "several months out" from. All I've ever heard from an actual Dev is a month or so before release, which is over 2 months away.

This isn't part of the game that needs hyped, IMO. This is something I expect they'll wait until it's near release, and then tell us all about it. We know what it is. We know what it does. Giving details about it and what's in it would be great for us, but it isn't really necessary from a developer stand point I imagine.

This is what was stated when the Keep was announced.  I haven't been following news because there *hasn't* been news accept apparently to bump down the projected "release" date.

I hope the keep will let us import our not-Ferelden Warden.

That sounds confusing. Okay;

In my canon play through my warden did the Ultimate Sacrifice and is very much dead. When I played Awakening, if I tried to import that game it would make it so that she was alive (for the sake of the game) and I assume did the dark ritual? So I always started a new game and got a different warden. However this play through did not have the choices from my other game (because it wasn't loaded.)

I'm bad at explaining things. D : Pretty much, I wonder if we will be able to make both of these play throughs count? IDK IDK IDK

Edit: (They were different people, correct? Or did the Warden Commander just not exist if you died? Again, IDK unu)

This is the source of "a few months before DAI gets released."

To quote the relevant part: "The keep will be available to everyone a few months out before DAI gets released, in order to give fans plenty of time to experiment with scenarios and make their history exactly how they want."

If it's "silly" to take announcements at their word, than I'm silly.

Ok, "a few months out before release" can mean anything. It could mean tomorrow, it could mean a month from now. It is still only June. July has yet to start so we are 3 1/2 months from release at least, "a few months out before release" could really mean anything. That doesn't mean that just because they haven't released it 4 or 5 months ago that it's going to be "watered down" or not as good. Just saying.

I didn't expect it four or five months ago.  I expected it about now or maybe July, August at the very latest, which would fit my definition of "a few months before release".  The lack of this or any particular announcement about when it's coming out is what concerns me, or really the lack of anything substantive said about it since it was announced except to call for betas.  It was announced nearly a year ago.  It doesn't seem weird to me to have expected *something* else to have been said about it by now.

I'm not saying anybody else has to share my concerns, only that having concerns doesn't make me irrational or paranoid.

The only thing that changes in Awakenings if your Warden died at the end of Origins, is that you are Orlesian and everyone is a bit suspicious of you because youre Orlesian and people mourne your Warden character. Yes, the Orlesian Warden becomes the Warden-Commander just as your alive Origins Warden would.

A few months out to me sounds more like about 2 months. To have anything this far out ahead of the game does not make sense to me.

Latest news from Devs (for some time now) has been a month or so before release. So we can expect that. My personal assumption is August or so they'll do an open Beta to get all the kinks out before the game releases.

I'm not really worried about the lack if info on it all honestly. Like I said, we know what's it for, the rest would just be something we'd like but unnecessary from a Dev standpoint to start talking about. They've said there are hundreds of choices, cinematics, and story telling elements. That's about all I expect until a full announcement when it opens.

Maybe it doesn't make you "irrational" or "paranoid" but saying ^(this) just because they haven't given us any concrete info yet does make you seem a bit-out of sorts-if you will, for  no reason really. Just look around this forum we have plenty of info on this. Also, Bioware has stated that they are going to be appearing and possibly giving out info on DAI at 6 different convention before Inquisitions release. I know one of those is on July 11 at the Gaymer X 2 convention. They might release something then. You never know.

If they release something it would alleviate my concerns.  That was a large part of why I decided to post in this thread: to see if there *was* something out there and also to communicate that the lack of anything was worrying, at least to some people.

Beyond that, I've pretty well said my piece.  If you aren't concerned fair enough.  There was never any need to be dismissive by implying somebody who doesn't have your opinion is "silly" or "out of sorts" or whatever you want to call it.

I don't know where the quote is, but when asked directly over Twitter (I think it was over Twitter), Laidlaw said a month before the release of DAI.  Unless my memory is playing tricks on me.

If this was the case you could have just said "Hey any new info on the Keep?" Instead you just came out with this odd post about how since you-someone who has admittedly not kept up with info-hadn't heard anything that you were worried that it wasn't going to a)be released on time or b)be "watered down". Im not being dismissive or I wouldn't have told you any info at all, but if all you wanted was info than why didn't you just ask for it?

And now I've said my piece.

Have a nice day.

Was this for the workable version or for the open beta?  Is there any news if an open beta will be released before then?

*Edit* I can only assume that the initial announcement of a version "a few months out" was for an open beta.  It would also give them a chance to do a more pronounced bug fix if they potentially dramatically increase their tester base.

Pretty sure it means it's open beta, but I don't see why they would open the beta if it wasn't a workable version.

Well, when I say "workable" version, I mean more or less the game equivalent of a gold - that most of the testing is done and it's ready for shipping (or for digital release in this case).  "Beta" implies to me they still haven't gotten all the kinks worked out and are still actively testing it.  I am hoping an open beta version comes out sooner than that so we aren't still in beta mode just a few weeks before the game comes out.

Final version, I believe.  I don't think they've mentioned an open beta.

I think most people have been thinking that if it came out a month before DAI then it would be in essence an Open Beta period where anyone could poke it and see if anything fell off before the release of the actual Dragon Age game.  Give them time to fix any more bugs that cropped up between then and release.

Laidlaw said it was so that players would have time to fiddle with the saves they plan to import, if memory serves, no reference to an open beta.

Open beta is just something we all kind of assumed would happen to stress the servers before going live. I don't think any devs haven't mentioned it themselves.

They received 32,000 or so  applications for the closed beta in the first week they announced it, I sort of assumed the stress test would be inviting everyone who applied.
