I'm expecting (Perhaps wishful thinking) moving visuals in the style of DA:O's intro and DA2's act intros.  Probably not narrated, but that would be pretty awesome.

I'm 21, still no invite.

I was thinking along those lines as well. Although I can see them being narrated.

I'm 40, not in yet either.

I genuinely don't think age has anything to do with it. They're not focus testing, their beta testing. Big difference there.

What they're looking for is people who have a wide variety of computers, internet speeds, and experience with Dragon Age.

So, a VARIETY of experience: They need people who are obsessed with the games, yes. But they also need people who have never played at all. Those people are also a target for Keep. In fact, they're most likely to discover bugs, because they don't already know the "correct" flow of decisions to be made.

This is very true (though of course there is some overlap in places). It's not that surprising that a minority of forumites have gotten keys since we're broadly representative of a small group of obsessives who might know a lot about the games, but have wildly varying levels of technological knowledge and past experience with betas.

I was surprised they didn't seem to ask what platforms you might have.  Unless I missed the question.

The keep should work in most browsers, it doesn't matter what platform you are going to play DAI on.

ack, I neglected to send the announce here.  Hopefully some of you are now in the beta.  If not, we're only just starting to ramp up numbers so there will be many more invites still to go out in the coming weeks.

I don't get it - that thing can't import saves from previous games? It's the most obvious purpose of this app. What's the whole point then?

You basically rebuild the world you want within the keep. They said they were looking into it, but the keep is about the world state.

I'd say the more obvious point of it is offering a way to switch consoles AND fixing the import bugs from all the previous games.

To me the obvious purpose of this app is to fix all the bugs in the save game structure from both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age and to allow a person to jump platforms while creating a world state they want because Microsoft and Sony won't allow a developer to modify save game files outside of the console.

Great example being that you played a goody-two-shoes, but want to see what the choices of a "no compromise" or "stop the blight first" warden, while not requiring a replay.

From all those statements about Keep i tought it will be like a debugger for a savefiles - you import a savegame, run a test for bugs and in the end of a process getting a clean save ready to be send into any of the DAI versions. With an option of correcting the results of the initial check. With current state of thing this Keep make playing previous games pointless.

The last thing i wanna do is filling some questionnaire. 300 questions will drive to decision to accept the default state of things.

From the first announce of the save transfer feature (ME2, 2009) i knew it will be only dissapointment. Decisions are meaningless and full of bugs and also leads the story to the most grey and boring outcome. And now it's making additional barriers to just enjoy the game.

BW will refuse that feature one day, but im afraid it'l take them at least 2-3 games to understand that.

Except instead of being saved on a console where the saves can become bugged and corrupted, they are in the cloud were you can have a 'master save' of any choices that were made in any game that could be changed at any time. A bug found? It can get fixed. Somehow got corrupted or deleted? You don't have to play the games again for 40+ hours. It is still a system that uses your past decisions to change the world state, but it is also a highly efficient and competent one.

The keep allows us to not have to play previous games which is about 80+ hours total for both games and awakening just to create a whole new world state. Keep allows us to experiment with differnet choices and outcomes without having to play for hours on end if we don't want to. Plus, as stated before, it allows people to switch consoles or to PC if they upgraded their pc and would prefer to play on pc.

It also future proofs the import system for future games (if the cloud survives of course, why I would like an export funciton sometime down the line). It also allows people who are playing DAI as their first DA game to have the same level of variability (as limited as it may be) as veteran players.

I doubt its going to be 300 questions, for certain choices will be locked out based on previous choices made within the progression, so you might have 50 choices, but there are over 300 plot flags that can be activated.

Its about your personal expectations, most of the import details I see in the two Mass Effect sequels I am fine with for I don't expect them to craft what might evolve into the same amount of work as two separate games to determine the different major choices in past games, for me is about adding flavor to the world. I don't expect to have major alterations to the game based on what happened before for otherwise that would reduce the amount of game I can enjoy because they are going to have to provide elements that fit into those choices.  At the end of the day I rather have minor choices carry forward instead of having the bugs that really leave my frustrated such as Zevran in Dragon Age 2 for I took the time to properly kill him.

NO import...NO export...It's a questionnaire in the end. All these empty words... Maybe in the end you should reveal this VITAL info before PREODER?

They have never said you could import save games. All they have said they were trying to make it work. They have also never stated you could export the game. It is not their fault you didn't do enough research on the Keep before preordering the game. And it is not as if they forced you to preorder this early either.
