I got accepted into the dragon age keep beta! Unreasonably excited. Don't worry, though, my lips are sealed vis a vis NDA!@dragonage

I am also still waiting on the Invite to be a Beta Tester on Dragon's Keep, I check my Email all the time, I have not received an email confirmation on the Beta deal.
I assume not everyone will be invited & only a small number will be invited those that will be invited more than likely have to agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement forbidding them to discuss the Keep & what & how it works.
Same as Bioware Employee's or Relatives of Employee's who are working on the new Mass Effect would be Forbidden to discuss Mass Effect.
I don't expect a Invite to the Beta Test of Keep, I think it is a random thing done randomly & only small amount will actually receive the invites to Keep Beta.
I will be like everyone else waiting until Keep is Released.

Are you really saying that in DAI when Varric mentions that Hawke gutted Anders that you won't remember how it felt to play that moment and make that choice? All because the computer system didn't auto generate that you had done that and you had to click a check box instead?
I agree. Further to your point I actually think it's better this way as it reminds me of all the decisions I made, rather than me having to remember a playthrough from 4 years ago and not receiving any prompting. I don't like importing decisions in general, but I absolutely think the Keep is a better way to do it if it happens.

The other thing along this line of thought as well is that you will know vaguely what to look for as well, for how many imported decisions in the past there might have been that slipped by because we forgot about them.

Like I said, I plan on just doing the games DLC Add-Ons, over at my relatives home, if I can make a Keep World state on the Dragon's Keep Wesbite here at home using my Laptop then when I go to my relatives when I do the DLC.
I would be able to Logon to my PS3 the PS3 would then be able to Upload my Keep World State from my EA/Origins Account, when I log on to Inquisition when I do the DLC Content.
If the Keep is a Simple Process like that I would be happy to do & to use the Keep, but I am still confused on what the keep will actually be & what the keep will actually do.
I heard the Keep would be like a Survey then I heard it is a Modifier that Fixes your Current Saves then Uploads them, I don't know this is the part I am confused on & about. Then I heard it could be something like Mass Effect 2's GENESIS Comic.
This is the main deal on Dragon's Keep I am confused on which is why I am a little bit iffy on using it. Cause I don't understand the specifics of the Keep.
Such as is this a Question deal like a Survey, Is this a Inter-Active Comic, is this a Save Modifier. I don't know.
Until I fully Understand I plan on playing Inquisition AS IS or using Selection Options.
We don't know how the decisions we get to make will be presented in the Keep yet. The Devs have said there will be cinematics and story telling-esque things so that it won't be simple check boxes. There will be lore, etc.
However, REGARDLESS of how you make those decisions in the Keep, you will need to do so using an internet connection and web page - just like this page. From there you will need to boot up DAI, log into your Origin account, and load your Keep world state into the game.
There is NO option to upload your current saves into the Keep. None. You'll be starting your world state choices from scratch.

I believe Patrick Weeks said there were around 300 decisions to be made in the keep.
I wonder if that is in the same spirit as mass effect 3 and the "30 different casey hudson" endings, which came out to 3 ACTUAL endings.
I think it will end being closer to something like, decision A cancels out decision J down the road, but both are included in the number 300+.
Wow... That was hard to understand lmao.

At first I wanted to push for the whole import my file into the keep thing...but now I rather just use the keep. I have a strong memory so I know my main "canon".
Though, and I doubt this, if Bioware says 'if you import your actual saves you will get additional stuff from the game, small cameos and what not' then I will obviously import. But I know that's not going to happen.

If direct import and the Keep both existed and that happened then it would be a problem. However you are losing nothing cameo wise by only having the keep. Those little changes would still have to be made by Bioware if direct importing was the only option. Just because the keep exists doesn't magically mean that there are less references to what you did in the previous games. They don't pop into existence by importing a save game, they still have to have been created in the first place.

Unless sony and microsoft change their polices it wont happen. The reason they haven't done it is because of the fact that both microsoft and sony have polices that forbid the upload of save files to any server other than their own. It has to do with security for their consoles.

Like I said I am just going to play Inquisition As Is, or use Inquisition's Pre-Selection History Options Like I had originally Planned on doing so in the 1st place.
I knew The Keep would be a complicated mess, which is why I am not even going to do or even going to use the Keep, I plan on playing Inquisition As Is soon as I get the game on 10-07 on my Playstation 3.
I did however get the Strategy Guide for the game + Deluxe Version of the game my Gamestop Power up Card helped me get the game at a Nice Price + I scored Points.
I am tired of talking on & about the Keep, I also don't even plan on using the Keep, Seems, Aggervating, Complicated, & we have no idea on What Kind of Process the keep Will be once it is available.
All we know this is the only way of Import. But we don't know is the specifics, Such as the 300 Choices we can make, to other aspects of the DK APP.
So I am tired of fighting against City Hall, so far as I am concerned I am Ignoring the Keep & Playing the game In anyway Shape or form I can.
I am tired of Trying to make sense of DK. To me it makes no Sense at All. I MISS DIREC-IMPORT.

It's not an app. It's a website. The Dragon age Keep allows you to make the choices that you made in the previous games so that you can have them added to your game in Dragon Age Inquisition. That way all your choices from the previous games can have an impact on the new game. The choices will be for example: Did you perform the Dark Ritual with Morrigan in Dragon Age: Origins? or Did you side with the Mages in the final act of Dragon Age 2? This will change the game play in Dragon Age: Inquisition in some form or another.
Also there will be one default World state in Dragon Age Inquisition if you don't use the Keep.

This is why I think betas are stupid. You make some fans feel elated and like they matter and others feel like they don't. It seems to be a game of favoritism. Who can say or do the things that matter more to the company (basically kiss a**). I don't think companies should do it this way. But that's how they want to play.
How would YOU recommend they test their products on hundreds or thousands of different computers located in different areas of the world/country?

Posté 03 juillet 2014 - 12:43
Maybe in order of how people signed up for the beta. Really it's a comment. Do YOU really need to take offense. Geez this is also why I haven't been on the forums in a long time. People are too touchy and just plain rude. Sorry I made a comment. I won't do it again or sire.
I don't think he really thought your comment of the betas being stupid was in good form. That is probably why the comment was made the way it was. I think a more random selection process would be better, but that's just me.

Yes but it's an opinion and everyone has those like you just stated yours. How does my opinion affect him in anyway?
I think some betas are handled stupidly, but betas are in a whole very needed. To say that betas in general are stupid just shows ignorance. That is what he was commenting about, all be it porely. I understand what you were inferring, but not every one reads between the lines. I also think this beta is being handled wrong, but it's not my decision on how to handle it.

The only thing I've been worried about with using the Keep as opposed to direct imports is that if the Warden and/or Hawke were to ever make a cameo appearance, I want them actually *looking* like the Warden/Hawke I created.
And yes, I realize this is a very big 'IF' and pretty unlikely, but I still hope. ![]()

Why are people so upset about not being able to import?
The Keep offers us 300 choices and there won't be any issues like there were with save importing
Bioware is giving us this opportunity to create our DA world over many games (hopefully) to come most others would probably just include the most important ones in the prolouge(like in ME 2 at the beginning)
and all the other smaller choices would be wasted
man people these days
well who else is excited about the Keep and not constantly bitching?

I think it has to do with the fact that people have always had Direct import and now it's gone. It's change, and people don't always like change. Personally I love the idea of the Keep.

Well, I do remember one of the devs stating that if people didn't want Hawke and the Warden in the game because they were worried about how the game would handle their previous characters which players have made up headcanons for; that 'now would be the time to panic'. ![]()
I'm sure they'll find a way around the whole appearance debacle, though. Kotor 2 (yeah, I know Obsidian made this and not Bioware) had your player character from the first game, and one of your party members (Canderous) return. Neither one of them you ever saw the face of. And in the case of the player character - they never spoke. So it's possible to do it right without getting that information. ![]()
