This is why I think betas are stupid. You make some fans feel elated and like they matter and others feel like they don't. It seems to be a game of favoritism. Who can say or do the things that matter more to the company (basically kiss a**). I don't think companies should do it this way. But that's how they want to play.
Edit: I know what the purpose of a beta is. I wasn't saying that beta's didn't have a purpose. I know it's how developers test their products before they are to be used or sold and work all the bugs or most of the bugs out. I have been playing games since I could walk and graduated from college. I was just stating ,in my opinion, that the way they are handled should be changed. This way they don't ostracize a good majority of their fanbase and make them feel insignificant.
I personally feel, as an adult, that I'm capable of understanding that people are chosen at random. I get disappointed not to get in, but I don't think it's favoritism or anyone kissing ass.
They'd still be disappointing people if they did the first few signed up since they had so many. There's no way around that.
