I am actually very glad for The Keep. My rig is about 6 years old and I plan to purchase a new one before the game comes out in Oct. I was concerned about how I could import all of the decisions from my saves. I have about 15 Origins play throughs and 7 DAII play throughs. So, now I do not have to worry about the integrity of my save files when I transfer data to the new hard drive.

OK dumb question: will DA: Keep be out on any or all of the consoles PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One or is it a PC-only game/app thing?

Its a browser only, you set your world state, then log into Origin through the console and it'll upload your world state

Y'all need to chill. Those of you who don't have beta invites and haven't experienced it yet, guess what? IT'S OKAY. Those of you have beta invites and have experienced the Keep, guess what? IT'S OKAY. The game comes out in three months and we all have some time to relax and chill. We'll all play the game when it gets here.
Im quiet happy not getting an invite means I will be plesantly suprised when it comes out offically

I've browsed through a few pages but didn't see an answer for my question. I will probably be playing the PS3 version - will DAKeep work with the PS3 version?

Posté 04 juillet 2014 - 09:35
The Keep will work for ALL versions. It's a website. From what has been said, and what I understand, you make your worldstate and then when you connect to DA:I while logged into your account, it uploads the data when you start a new game. So, you need to have the nets on your PS3 for long enough for that to happen, but so long as you've got that, you're golden.

BW really, really need to make a proper FAQ and advertise it everywhere
:/
Edit: or, someone should put LadyInsanity's video in the OP.

Oh, fantastic. I was worried. =P Thanks!
And I don't believe that was answered in the video - which was very informative already.

It may not have been specifically stated, but I'm curious why you would think that it wouldn't work on the PS3 - given it's going to be the only way to load up a worldstate for the game. You would think it'd work on all consoles in that case. 0o
Unless you mean if you can open the website on the PS3. In that case, I believe it was said a few pages back by one of the devs that they're working on making sure the website has very few requirements, so it can be run on any browser and (presumably) the webpage can be opened on any console. ![]()

From what I understand its being developed so it would work on anything that can possibly surf the internet, so even a cellphone or tablet would work as well.

some questions which may or may not be obvious (sorry), I am asking on behalf of a friend who does not have net access. I haven't been following keep news very closely so I'm not up to speed.
- am I correct in assuming that using the keep will not be neccessary in order to play DA:I?
- if you choose not to use the Keep, am I correct in assuming that there will be a pre-built/'default' world-state that the game goes by? will there be multiple world-states to choose from as there was in DA2 if you didn't import a save?
- I know the keep is a cloud/web-based service. my friend doesn't have access to the internet. she wants to know if there's going to be some sort of offline version of the keep? like the comic in mass effect where you could make some of the major decisions.

Yes.
Yes.
No, at least they haven't said so. You will have to do world states on the website and then connect your system to Origin to download those world states. But once you do that, it stays so you don't have to stay connected. So if she can get her system to someone who has a stable internet then itll work fine that one time, and then she can just use it over (i think)

These will normally go out from onlinecommunity -at- bioware -dot- com and call out something related to Dragon Age Keep in the subject.

She won't need the Keep, but as of now they have only talked about on pre-build world state.
A female Dalish Elf Warden, who made the ultimate sacrifice and Alistair is king. And a Mage Hawke, who sided with the Mages.
Someone really should edit the OP. The same questions are being asked again and again, and of course no one want's to read through 147 pages.
Just some general information on the Keep and at best the FAQ Fernando Melo has posted. That would make it easier for everyone to find what they seek.

1) That is correct.
2) There will be only one pre-built world state, any differing storylines will require The Keep.
3) They don't have any plans for an offline version, but there is always the option of "borrowing" another person's internet by taking the platform she is playing to their location and using it for a short time to use The Keep. Now eventually there might be an offline version, but I can't see it being anytime soon. An option that a friend of mine is using is he will be tethering his cellphone to his PC to download The Keep files, for he doesn't believe it will be that big of a download.

This thread is 147 pages long with 3670 posts, there can be a lot of stuff that can be easily missed. I think the problem is in the nature of forums themselves for you need a moderator or a dedicated person to maintain a thread with a lot of information otherwise it gets lost.

Right? It would definitely help if the OP was updated with the current, relevant info, and at least a reasonable attempt was given to keep it up to date. I don't think the poster had the intention of this being the go-to thread for Keep details, at least it didn't seem that way to me. Just looking for opinions. Of course, on the forums that can turn into the go-to thread for details like this has. Not blaming them, but in a perfect online world, when someone started a thread on a subject with information forthcoming (like this one), that was likely to draw a lot of attention (like this one), they'd keep an eye on it and edit the OP regularly, etc. Alas, we all know that the net is a far from ideal place, and for whatever reason, we don't have that dedicated person to do it. So, we just get to answer questions as they come unless someone wants to make a new thread for all the gathered info about the Keep.

The NDA isn't lifted, but we have been given permission to share limited details and impressions of the Keep. I did so in a video here -
-
it's not much different than LadyInsanity's video, given there is only so much we can talk about. lol
I will say that I feel most people, if not all, will be happy with Dragon Age Keep when they finally get a chance to see and use it.
EDIT: Just noticed I was a little late to the party with fellow testers.

It is also a stickied thread which should theoretically draw people to it, and yet there is at least one thread a week from people asking about save game importing because they don't know about the Keep or know nothing about what it does. It's just not as sexy as Cullen though so it doesn't get "front page" time, it's back here past the centrefold. I don't think that there will be that much shift in regards to features of the Keep unless they can't nail something down so I still think there should be an official update on the it in some form. Even just outline the basic features of the Keep with a visible FAQ about what it does. They don't have to give a point by point list of every single choice or announce whatever the "more than what we expected" (from lady insanity's video) is, but something from an official source not hidden in this thread might be informative. Although I would still love to actually see an example (ie images / video) of the Keep in action.
