Will you be able to use it to import our plots from Origins to 2?
Say we don't want to replay the first one, but wouldn't mind playing 2 to get ready for inquisition.

I would love if someone could answer this question for me, but do you need to own the DLC to make choices in the keep about that DLC? IE, can I not make any choices regarding the events of Awakening if I don't own it? Or can I not choose which Grey Warden to support during the events of Legacy without having the game?
I would be shocked to say the least if they bring in new players to the series offer them this feature then turn around and say "guess what you cant have these choices because you never bought the previous games", Bioware themselves have stated players do not need to have played the first 2 installments to play inquisition so denying them these choices would be saying "we lied you do need to play these games"
i believe they will leave all options open for all players, new and old regardless of purchase of previous installments/dlc etc.
im wrong alot though

Maybe by the time it comes out - all DLC for DA2 will be free as well?

Does this mean it's global (one history per player), or do you plan to allow players to have multiple histories that they can choose between when starting a new game?JoeHegarty wrote...
Yes! You can create an entirely new history from scratch, with many many choices. The Keep will ensure all your choices are compatible and don't conflict.
You can do this as many times as you want, and whenever you want. Fire up a new DAI game and your changes will be in effect in your new playthrough.
If you fix back-end logic bugs, do you anticipate automatically updating stored histories, or will we have to manually go through and verify our histories again if we want to make sure we have correct data?

I think offering free DLC for the previous games would be a fantastic idea (that I've suggested previously, so you know its a good idea!).

I hope this means we can finally set Awakening plot flags even if our Warden sacrificed themselves. I want a Warden, a Warden-Commander and the Hawke to all be different characters =) DA2 couldn't respect the Warden's existence while also recognising the Orlesian Warden.
'logic check'
In other words, things that shouldn't be able to happen won't happen. At least, that's the usual meaning of it... And since technically the Orlesian Warden Commander can't exist while the Fereldan Warden exists in the same import chain and vica versa...
Well, you get my drift.
I'm off to sleep, it's 1 PM in the night here.

No, actually. It is what Allan described.IsaacShep wrote...
Mark said in blog that you guys are still looking into ways to allow just straight-out importAllan Schumacher wrote...
Mark is talking about importing into the Keep, as it would expedite setting up the world state for your game to recognize. There aren't plans to directly import from save games into DAI. So in that sense, yes the Keep is our sole solution. It'd be really, really good for some people, especially those with a lot of characters, to be able to speed the process along by importing, which is what Mark is referring to with his investigation.
And as far as I am aware, it should include DLC and expansions as well. (I'd be infinitely surprised if they were omitted).
What about actually importing your save games? We are continuing to investigate ways in which save files from previous games could be used to populate the initial world state of the Dragon Age Keep. We’ll provide more information on this in the months to come.

That is one of the huge wins for sure.

You need to back that up with some US numbers, now.

I hope this means we will be able to get references to our Wardens like if I used Cousland or Brosca.
Cant wait to try it out!

Joe would be better served on knowing whether or not the Keep plans on detailing that information, though it's pretty straight forward to find if we end up tracking the Origin story used in DAO.
As for whether or not it shows up in DAI or future games would depend on how writing/design wishes to leverage the information.

The five of us who did the US can rest easy, knowing that the Orlesian Warden we never actually played can be recognized now.

Yes!! ... I have a question from this.
@Joe or @Allan
What if our Warden survives with the Dark Ritual, but we want to maintain their end choice from DA:O and have the Orlesian Warden for the DA:A choices? Could we have saves where both the DA:O Warden and the Orlesian Warden survive and have import flags (and hopefully appear in game at some point
(..and I still can't get the page to work, going to try resizing)

If we're two of them - who are the other 3?

It's more the idea that "People that have import data that is fundamentally wrong can rectify it going forward, which I think is a big win.
Whether or not we properly deal with it in DAI though.
