It's strange, when I apply and click "save", it doesn't seem to actually register it. Oh well, it will be out soon enough.

If you've done it once, thats all you need. Sometimes it apparently says that.

you know even if Bioware dose let more people into the beta there is no way in telling what will happen on open day

the servers could overflow and they would have to close it down so we would need to wait longer :/

Completely out of context but I was wandering through my old files...I officially have nothing to do this summer but clean up my 5 external hard drives (6.5 TB)...and came across my SWTOR guild's Code (which made complete sense when I rp'd our formation as a Grey Order) that i found fitting for us non beta folk.

 

There is Conflict, yet we are Stalwart.

Probably not many since you'd have to know about DAI and the keep to apply for Beta and that implies at least a decent level of interest.

I wonder how many people get an invite and it is in their "spam" folder and then they missed the twitter/post that there were invites and the next day cleared out the "spam" folder (because there was like 100 pieces of email in there) without looking and goodbye invite.

Well, even if someone were to overlook or accidentally delete their invite, if they were to visit the Keep webpage, it would still let them in.
From what I've heard, the email is more of a notification than a requirement to access the full site.

But it would be so upsetting if it was like...omg...what if it's not just a notification...what if i got one and deleted it...*over emotional /irrational response*

As CENIC has post I have heard that if you delete the email its okay...however, i'm not in the beta nor do i know someone personally that is...so i'm going on a faded memory of text that someone stated it was okay if you delete it. Even that is up in-the-air for me for what if they were missleading me so there was more room for them *hears a fading evil laugh*

I only just found out, after going to Origin's website to find out if there might be a message sent there as opposed to my email(DO NOT JUDGE MY DESPERATION!), that I have had my email address registered by unverified for the past 4 years. Granted, I'm not a PC gamer, so there's no reason this would have affected me until now, but it was quite the shock. I had a panic attack, wondering if a keep invite had not been sent because of my unverified email. Cue my swift verification of said email, as well as wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Servers aren't cheap and then you have to justify why they aren't being used anymore. Most companies will know there is going to be a huge "first day rush" and will allocate resources to minimize it, but they can't make major additions to a network for a single day of rush that even having more servers might not help if the problem is bandwidth or other possible unforeseen consequences.

 

Actually we do have infrastructure in place that lets us hook up additional hardware quickly if demand necessitates it, and then pop it out when it's no longer necessary.

 

(Google is amazing for it.  They have mounting arrays where you can just plug in a new hard drive and it's like "okay now a part of the system thank you")

 

It's true that it's a risk and it might not go smoothly.  But by the same token, it's a risk that our import system would have issues if it was built into the game directly as well.  It's possible to "what if" all sorts of situations.

I am hoping B-Ware opens the Beta up soon the waiting is killing me .

 

I have given up on getting into the Beta at this point I applied for it on day 1 and evertime more invites were sent out I can see I am not getting in so B-Ware hurry up and open it up .
