The default is just the simplest world state for new players.
It is problematic to reference a past character and also have to explain who they are/were to a new player.

I really want to try out the keep
god september is taking forever
Well, since I haven't got an origin account or internet in my 360, I really hope we get to import our saves, bugged or not.
( I have learned to live with them, my overactive imagination takes care of the rest.)
My most important save has the cirkle free!!!
Please Bioware!!!
I missed this..umm how do you not have an origin account. *looks at your name* yes its a registered name..yes you have an avatar..yes you have an origin account
i wonder if they will release some sort of faq video surrounding keep soon?

If you can post on these boards you have an Origin account for they merged all of their accounts into one system shortly after Origin was released. There could be a way to import to your 360 for you don't have to be connected all the time for The Keep to work, just when you want to download your save to your console. I know a friend of mine is just going to use their cellphone as an access point for their access to The Keep for they don't think the save would be too large.
They have no plans for a direct import even if they are able to get importing to work, I am pretty sure it would be importing to The Keep and using that to fill out the game since the saves could import conflicting information into the game.
They did the same thing in ME3The default is just the simplest world state for new players.

The only problem I can see is if he only has access to wireless internet of some form since the 360 (at least not the 2 versions I used to have, I don't know if that has every changed) has no built in WiFi adapter. However there is usually a way to get connected if you really wanted to, he is posting here after all.
I connect with an adaptor I plug into the machine. It isn't overly expensive. The only problem I can see is if he only has access to wireless internet of some form since the 360 (at least not the 2 versions I used to have, I don't know if that has every changed) has no built in WiFi adapter. Been a while since I bought mine (it was about $100 then which is ridiculous), the branded one is still $60 which is not cheap.

but.. but.. i want god baby reference....
when i made a mage, i roleplayed him as a power hungry blood mage that only did the dark ritual so he could have hopes of one day finding morrigan and taking the power for himself.

Well, that's what the Keep is for. The default world state is aimed at people who have never played the previous games, or aren't interested in customising. It's assumed that they either don't know about the Old God Baby or won't care.
But... Why would they not care about god baby?! Just saying it sounds awesome, GOD-BABY!
its so epic! you could make a game around that concept EASILY!
you know I might try the defult world state on my second run and compare it to my original game state
Sounds terrible!
I've ade choses in three games (origins, awakening, II) with about 10 different playthroughs in total, easily 400+ hours in total. How am I supposed to remember each choice my characters made? I only have a broad understanding of the kind of characters they are since I played them years ago. It was awesome to see consequences for choices you forgot about. We will lose this.... Rebuilding your character isnt a true import, youll creating a cheap reflection of the character. Ugh.
If you don't remember the decisions you made you will likely also not notice the difference.
Yep.
And what proportion of players have ten playthroughs? Five percent? Fewer? There's only so much they can support, and the Keep is the best way to do save imports going forward, even if it has drawbacks.

That's why you need a spreadsheet! (It seemed crazy when I made it, but now I'm glad I did.)
If you still have the save files, most decisions will probably be recorded in your journal.

Given that I'm a very ... enthused ... fan and only have nine completed runs of Origins (two of which are do-overs, so only seven different Wardens) I can only imagine it's a tiny number. There are a few people on the forums who have played it fifteen or twenty times, but they're a minority of a minority.
I'd make a spreadsheet, if I could just remember all the choices...
I'm pretty sure I remember most of the choices in Origins, but, not so much for Dragon Age 2; I only played through 2 twice.
I've played through completely once.
I keep meaning to do another playthrough to use all the DLC from the ultimate edition.
I'd make a spreadsheet, if I could just remember all the choices...
Answering a different thread I thought: jot down the key choices - easy, but the list kept rolling, I regretted starting the reply after a while...
It was many more things that might matter than I thought it would be.
What this also means is that I'm only interested in one default world state not several.
There will be enough variations in DAi to be adding multiple DAO/DA2 layers as well
(DAO/DA2 spoilers obviously...)
