and that's also a good thing so you can create world states for later playthroughs with complete opposite decisions to see the differences
Oh sure.I'm also happy I could create an somewhat "evil" playthrough , something I just can't play .

I have a bastardly King Cousland that I recently replayed, but I still can't bring myself to murder Leliana at the Sacred Ashes! The first time I played this character, she was hardened and intimidated into backing down; this recent playthrough, I left her behind at camp and lied to her.Oh sure.I'm also happy I could create an somewhat "evil" playthrough , something I just can't play .

If I don't get into the Keep soon, I may play through one more time to see what happens if you're forced to kill her, seeing as that is a major point of contention for a lot of people.
I only desecrated the ashes once- and that was for the achievement- then I immediately reloaded, so I don't have any playthroughs where I killed Leliana either. I also don't have any playthoughs where I didn't resolve the dalish/werewolf conflict by having Zathrian remove the curse. So I'm glad I'll be able to choose these things as a world state without having to play them.
Help me out here
So can I import my saved-game data from DA0 and DAII from my PS3 to Dragon Age Inq for the PS3 or do I have to get the keep to do it
Do you have to pay for keep and do you have to go on line
sorry for being a thick head here

*Currently no, Keep only.
It's free. It's online.
*currently means they are still looking at it but I wouldn't hold your breath and if it happens I think it could be quite limited.
Are invites going out?????
This was to entice them to send them out. xD
Not that they were sending them out.
I should have clarified. Sorry.
anything new on this?
(sent application day one this was announced, never heard anything since)
Its usually the middle of the week that they send out invites

right now it's only the keep to recreate the choices you have made because inquisition is built with frostbite 3 it's a new system and won't allow the old engine to transfer data across
Actually the engine has nothing to do with it. It has to do with direct import is buggy. Bioware has decided to go with the Keep to eliminate this problem. Also the fact that not everyone is using the same console or platform for the new game. For instance some people will be going from XB360 to PS4, or PS3 to PC, or any combination. Direct import wont work when changing systems. The Keep streamlines this process and makes a single format that can be read by any system for importing your old game choices to the new games, DA:I and on. The Keep will also keep track of your new choices as you make them in the new game as long as your logged into your origin account while you play. This will facilitate a smoother transition for any DA game that comes out after Inquisition. At least this is the info that is available so far this might change as they get closer to release and find new features that they want and get rid of ones that they don't need. So yeah I digress, Frostbyte 3 is just the graphical component of the game, the engine that will display the game. It has nothing to do with the background processes like importing, because if that were true they wouldn't be able to import from the Keep either.

I swear in one of the E3 interviews they said frostbite was one of the reasons why importing can't work . and of course do you think I could find the interview to back that up ....
If you do some research on game design you will find that all the engines that games are made from are graphical. The programming for import or game controls and mechanics is done in the background. The engine is used for visuals and animations. Basically everything you see. The more sophisticated the engine the better the game will look. Thus the reason each game looks better with each iteration of a new engine.

Warden_of_all is correct. The game engine is not the issue. GamerMD83 had a great interview with Fernando Melo back around Christmas that discussed the Keep in some detail. (Find it on YouTube.)
There were many reasons to go to the Keep as the mechanism for establishing the initial world-state (and later, for saving your end-state.). But whether the game uses Frostbite 3, Eclipse, Unreal, or any other engine doesn't make any difference to the "import" of plot-flags. Appearance, yes. So if we were talking about importing your Hawke, it would matter. But the world-state is just an ASCII (or .xml) file.
Correct.
I believe that may have been in relation to character appearances, like Hawke and the Warden, not carrying over.I have seen this being mentioned by others on here as well. I recall a confirmation of Bioware on the matter in another thread. When I read it the first time I thought it couldn't possibly be true until I saw the confirmation. I don't quite remember where I read about it either (there are too many Keep threads each week and I wouldn't know what word(s) too search for to find the actual post.).
Awesome!!
I personally just went with a spreadsheet for my choices.
Well, I plan to edit mine together (With a focus on story rather than gameplay) as a sort of "movie", (More of multi-episode "TV" series) and post it to YouTube. It's something I've been thinking about doing for awhile now actually.Awesome!!

That sounds cool. I'll have to watch it when it is done.
I'll probably post a link on this thread when it's done. It is TANGENTIALLY related to the Keep, afterall. That sounds cool. I'll have to watch it when it is done.

The other reason in that video is that Sony and Microsoft are very restrictive when it comes to their private networks and have strict limitations on what can and what cannot be done with a player's save file. So this isn't just BioWare and EA wanting to do it, but Sony and Microsoft allowing it as well.

That is very true, although that actually has to do with importing saves to the Keep from DA:O and DA2. Which is why I feel that importing to the Keep wont happen.
