Add me to the list. I also totally expected a Keep invite. Literally the first thought that came to my mind.

I literally feel really bad now, I got that email at 4 AM eastern time and I was so excited to wake up in the morning. I was celebrating and stuff, right before going to bed and to see this...I should fo checked the email first but I was completely sold that it was my Keep invite. Where's a super sad panda when you need it?

That's been happening to lots of people, unfortunately.

But at least you got something. I haven't received either email. :(

I'm in the same boat.

If it turns out to be an MMO, I'll have to NOPE right outta there. I have no interest in those.

I didn't either until I saw you could play PVE. I play in, probably, the most unsocial way possible. If it is a new MMO and they have PVE I'll probably play. Though I do miss the DA type banter.

consensus seems to be that to have gotten that email, you would have to be signed up to their newsletter.

As far as I know, as long as your Origin account is set to receive emails from EA's newsletter thingy, you should see the email on your inbox when you log in using your Origin email address.

I'm not sure, but I might have been partly wrong when I earlier said it probably wasn't based on SWTOR subscription.  People have been telling me that they received the email on the address they have in their SWTOR accounts, but not the emails they have on their Origin account... so I really don't know what's going on with that.

When I saw the Bioware email say I have been chosen was excited probably as much as others were thinking it was invitation to dragon age keeep beta only to find out it was just an email to a teaser to new game being created by Bioware. Though sad it wasn't a beta invite for dragon age keep I am excited for this new game it looks interesting.

The use of such a deceptive Subject line in that email is right up there with the naming of "Origin" when there was already a product using that name that the new one was supposed to support.  (That it's been two years of almost constant breaking of DA Origins by EA/Origin, only deepens the irony.  <_<   )

More proof that the right hand of EA has no idea what the left hand is doing... :?

The Origin trademark is a relic from the old studio Origin Systems, the company that developed the Wing Commander games and was in the end bought by EA...

Yeah, I think this is the case.  I have different email addresses set up for both.  The one associated with my Origin account (and the DA Keep) never received the email, while the one that gets all of my TOR stuff did.  :\

With the official release being pushed back, do we know if Keep has also been delayed?

Nope, Bioware was unsure on the matter themselves (Though they seem to be leaning that way)

As someone who provides player-to-player support for Dragon Age: Origins on three different internet forums, I can tell you that the number of times people get confused when told they have to "log-on to Origin" to fix something is astounding!  I've taken to always, always, always  writing "EA/Origin" when I mean the client.

And the only reason for the mix-up is that... "The right- hand of EA (the EADM 'upgrade' team) didn't know what the left-hand (BioWare studios and their ALREADY-RELEASED-before-EA/Origin-even-existed  product) was doing."  Some marketing/branding guy should have been fired over that mistake.  :pinched:

EA had the "Origin" trademark sitting around doing nothing *long* before DAO was released, and they needed a simple, catchy name for this new service that needed to compete with Steam. The marketing guy who figured this out probably got a well-deserved promotion.

Weirdly enough, they kept refreshing the trademark time and again after Origin was dissolved... Always wondered about that.

If I hadn't stopped by the forums before checking my email, I probably would have gotten very sad too since I got one of those "you're chosen" emails.

To make up for it, we should all get beta invites. Amirite? lol

Misleading, perhaps?  But you opened the e-mail and probably clicked on the link.  So from a marketing perspective, it was pretty freakin' perfect.

I don't want another MMO though, I want an RPG  :( I'm worried that's where this is headed...

It's not and MMo: more then likely it is a project by failhard (or something like that) the guys who made sunless sea and fallen london. Apparently they are collaborating with bioware on something, in the vein of their previous titles. /offtopic

According to the post in the twitter thread, they did say during the Q&A at SDCC that at least PC should be able to import their saves to the keep to auto fill some stuff.
