This was posted in the Twitter thread:

Which makes me question of WTF that guy over at the DA wiki who said he was testing the beta and who's only advice due to the NDA was "do not deleting your DAO/DA2 saves" for the Keep  unless that was just flat-out bullsh*t....

Lovely, now I have to go through and remember  and write down all the choices I made for my characters' world states....  <_<

(Did someone in this thread mentioned that they had put together a spreadsheet/database file for a character's DA choices?  I can't remember who it was, but if he/she still has that, I and am sure many others would love to have access to that file)

If we can make five different world states, which one updates with DA:I progress?  All of them?  Just the "active" one?  As an example: If i start the game with state A, and switch to B because I don't need A to be the "primary", does my progress in the game update on the A or B world state?

Finally, if it is following the state you chose initially, rather than just following the one chosen for upload, what happens if you delete said world state while playing the game?

Great questions. I was also confused over the auto-upload since you can apparently delete world states to make room for more. It would be very inconvenient to delete a world state after importing it, making another one, and then having the second world state being updated during DAI gameplay.

It has already been answered. You make the new game with whatever state you pick, and that's what you're stuck with until a replay in which you can pick a new state to start with.

Then you misread the question.

The Keep updates with your DA:I progress if you play DA:I while connected.  My questions concerned that aspect, not how things are uploaded from the Keep to Inquisition.

My bad. Though I imagine that would be an overall account thing like like the bioware social page for da:o rather than tied to a world state.

My understanding is that much of the logic as possible is being intentionally handled by the Keep because it mitigates the chances that import issues are a result of the game (as opposed to the Keep).

Given the difficulties in pushing patches out to the games, that makes a lot of sense.

They could sell extra Keep slots with microtransactions.

The question about updates to the Keep is a good one, though. Are the updates tied to the world-state that spawned them? What happens if we modify a world-state after we've imported it to start a game? What if we have multiple playthroughs associated with multiple world-states on the go at thr same time?

"Mommy? BioWare is trolling me again..."

I got another one of those "You have been chosen!"-mails...

Better yet: A subscription plan. You get two slots for free, and ten as a subscriber.

I also have a spreadsheet and will try to upload it after I finish my current DA2 playthrough. However, you can create one by copying the list of quests from the wiki and fleshing them out with the approval convos/flags for each character. That's what I did for the DA2 part of my sheet since the approval seemed to be more tied to decisions I was making (and I couldn't play a sideshow as in DAO). In DAO I also referenced the journal and codex entries.

I have a slightly different question about importing into the Keep. I understand the difficulty about uploading my save game from the PC or PS3. What about the file on the old Bioware site? The player profiles that were updated onto the forum as I played DAO and DA2? Is that data saved in a format close enough to the Keep that we could request that data be sent forward to the Keep for one of our world-states?

I don't think those player profiles store any of the choice we make, its just basic information about the characters we picked such as class/race/gender/level and a lot of that information could be inaccurate for I know for the longest time it never updated my characters.

The information BioWare has access to that does contain specifics about our choices I believe is submitted completely anonymously so they might not have any real idea of the choices people have made.

It used to gather information on the choices we made in game.  If you were to go to the "story" tab, it'd show a list of a number of the recent updates to your story progression.  I've been checking recently, and at least on my page, the tab no longer shows anything.  However, I do remember looking through there with one of my playthroughs, and reading that it recognized I had sided with the Werewolves in the Dalish quest.

So yeah, it's very possible that this is something they're looking in to; especially considering the feature is currently down.  Who knows, though.  *shrug*

My mistake, I just remember trying to use the site once and my character stopped updating at level 5 even after I had completed the game.

Will we be able to direct import saves into the Keep?

Unfortunately we won’t be able to directly import saves. However, over 300 choices are accounted for in the Keep, so you’ll be able to recreate your Dragon Age universe down to the details.

That's disappointing  :(

If I recall correctly, Bioware was considering an option to allow import in the early stages of the Keep, right? I wonder what made them change their minds.

Maybe I'm missing an important point somewhere, but I honestly don't see the problem with the Keep not importing savegames.  Surely any decision sufficiently important to you that you want it to be accounted for in DA:I is a decision that you'd remember and thus be able to choose when setting up your world state?

I guess the issue is people don't want to spend time ticking off choices in the Keep before they play, they'd rather just import and start it asap.

Not me though. I'm so OCD when it comes to these things, I'd manually do it all anyway just to ensure everything is being recorded in the Keep properly.

Yeah, I'd do it manually anyway, so I don't mind that the Keep doesn't have imports. (I mean, it would be nice if it had it for the benefit of other people, but I'd probably never use it myself.)

After the DA2 import messed up for me the first time, I switched to the fan-made save editor and never looked back. So for me the Keep is just what I've been using for three years only with more and fancier ticky-boxes. (Um, I assume.)

Filigreed ticky-boxes!  Boxes with masks and feathers!  :D

I wonder what they mean why they say it's not just going to be a long checklist. How else would it be presented that also takes into account 300+ choices. I'm not very creative, so I'm drawing a blank on this.

I'm only guessing, but what if it's sort of like a Choose Your Own Adventure book, only with pictures and music?

Because some choices block out others. Hawke was a mage? Well, then you can't decide whether Bethany joined the Circle or the Wardens.

Besides that, they might not just make it a giant checkbox thing, but something a bit more creative...

It could well be that the story tab only updates up to a certain point (I wasn't too high a level during that encounter)   *shrug*

I think from what I read and know once you import the chosen keep story import its in the game... I think they also said you dont even need to be linked to Keep while playing DA: I so even if you changed world states between A and B I think they will not be affected since its already imported in the game... I hope im right...

Yeah, I know.  I think you misread the question though....  Bioware said that the Keep will update itself with your progress during Dragon Age Inquisition(if you're online, and connnected).  And i'm wondering how that works; what happens if you alter your world states in the keep while you're playing the game(by making them the "inactive" one, or deleting them, etc)?
