I'm curious as to the role of keep when the game ships and we begin our adventures in DAI.

More DA games are planned, all going well with this, so hopefully after creating our world state and going through DAI, the progress we make gets saved in there as well.

Which then brings the question of how many DAI play throughs can get stored (if any), and how that is handled. I'm doing my 7th DA:O run now, mostly to refresh my memory on a few things, I know I plan on going through DA:I more than once, with a different created world state each time around.

PS yeah, I'm not going to have time for MP if it's there LOL, sorry MP devs if you're out there.

5 current world states can be saved, they did say that the keep gets updated as you go through the game. It would make sense that its the worldstate you chose the game to start with would be the one updated. (rather than creating a new one)

Yet you might have deleted that world state.  Plus you might want to run multiple games of the same world state.

I've only planned my first world state. After I get a bit more of a feel for the game I'll decide on the others.  i have 20+ playthroughs (complete) of DAO and DA2 though so it won't be easy to choose.

Dont know if I'll have more than one worldstate. Playing what will be my canon on Origins now, although I missed a few side quests that I'll hopfully be able to mark as done in the keep

Just 5? That's not enough. :(

I believe they've said that there may be more in the future.

I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out which five Inquisitors I'll want to play first. I should probably just make the one world state and decide after I've actually played the game for the first time where I want to go next ... but where's the fun in that?

Sometime before the game, maybe a month, maybe a day, but for sure before the game.

It seems likely that the start-up world states you create in the Keep are separate to how the Keep stores your progress in Inquisition.  Otherwise, as you say, deleting or changing the start-up state used to create a given playthrough would remove the ability to store your progress in that playthrough. Ergo, the two must be separate.

I'm wondering if it's going to be like Rockstar's Social Club, where it lists kinda like a diary/FB post what we've done in the game.  That'd be cool and give me a reason to stay logged in, not that many people would check my progress or care

Even if there is the five limit, one thing I am thinking might happen is even if you delete a save it might send that data to a Keep slot even after deletion.

What I am thinking is if you have an active slot in the Keep and you load up a profile that has been removed from The Keep it might overwrite you active profile so you and manage that way.  Of course this is just hopeful thinking on my part.

I just have a quick technical question that has been bugging me and I was wondering on some confirmation on this:  I read an article the other day, and the author claimed that via the Keep (I assume its the Keep anyways since the guy mentoned the Cloud) that you can play the same game of Inquisition on different platforms.  For instance start it on the PS3 and then continue it on the PS4.  Now this would be quite awesome but it sounds too good to be true and since I heard it in one (badly written) article I just was wondering if there was any confirmation one way or the other?

i think what he meant was if you played DA2 on ps3 you can play DAI on ps4 and use the choices you made in DA2 by using the keep. You cannot play DAI on ps3 and then continue your DAI playthrough on ps4 using the same save file.

I wonder how long it will take to finish a world state in the Keep.  If it takes some time, I would like to get the keep at least a week before the game release.  That way I can go on release day.

Probably an hour or two if you're thorough and go through all the choices. I'd say you'll have more than a week to tinker with it.

I read that article too. I think they got the wrong end of the stick frankly.

That is not a feature offered by the keep.

While I agree that would be an awesome feature, there are challenges that prevent us from being able to do that at this time.

Consider this scenario: You begin playing the game on Xbox 360, and unlock half of the achievements, and then you start playing on PS4. Should the trophies for the already completed objectives just unlock? This is something we're not allowed to "just do" as you didn't actually achieve them on the PS4, and if we can't, there are story achievements etc that you could never get on that platform without a fresh playthrough.

There are many many issues like this which make it impractical at the current time. So unfortunately this is not a feature we can offer (as cool as it is).

We're always looking for ways to improve in these areas and offer greater choice, but it can be a real challenge.

Oh I keep forgetting.  I want to really thank everyone at Bioware for the keep solution to save importing.

There were a few Dragon Age: Origin saves I really loved and cared a lot about that were lost due to my ps3 dying on me that I kept trying to remake but getting disheartened each time.  I know what I did in these special saves and thanks to the keep I can now continue those world states without having to replay through origins to get them.

You all deserve tons of hugs, cookies and cake!!!!

But I wouldn't care about the trophies...:P

Thanks for the clarification though. :)

I got bored last night and decided to make something to make entering in my choices in the keep a bit easier...and pretty. 013.JPG

I had all my choices written down already, but this makes it more special. And well, like I said, I was really bored last night. Figured you guys would appreciate it, my mom just rolled her eyes when I showed it to her.

I love it!!!!!!

I just wish I had my saves so I could do something like that.  Will be recreating them from memory.  I spend stupid amounts of time on silly things like that.
