We get that it's not literally about you. But since you're the one making the stink about it that's why the answers are directed to you.
You can literally take your and turn it into they're and get the same meaning.
To play DAI you don't have to connect to the internet at all, but you won't get all of the benefits as someone who can. That's really no different than anything else in the world that's technology based and it's probably something people without internet are used to at this point.
The developers clearly do not share your mindset about this.
This is the crossroads where we begin to walk two different paths. You are on the easy one where everyone have to be more or less like you or else get a sub-par product. My path is the one of alternatives that go outside the framework.
I am quite sure that there will be no DLC with "the keep" functions, no offline co-op support or LAN/Direct connect multiplay co-op, but you know what... Sim City 2013 was delivered without offline support, and the big popular mmorpgs (no names) had no support for players wanting to run them locally..., where are we today!? And where do you think "the developers clearly do not share your mindset about this" will end up with DA:I down the road?
1. There will be something similar to "the Keep" (probably in the sprit of Gibbed's savegame editors, and if we are lucky he'll make it). Problem solved!
2. Co-op for offline mode is nothing in DA:I compared to the big challenges mmorpg's present regarding emulation, and technically some sort of external software with a lobby/LAN/direct connect IP is nothing impossible under the sun. Problem hopefully solved!
What I however object is the "reasons" why private persons have to make stuff "working as intended" in the first place, just look on the prime example: Sim City 2013 that NEVER could be played offline... sure...
Ignoring a playerbase with no access to internet or that don't want to play online with others trough EA servers (latency/lag etc) is quite easy, but don't come running with complains when 3rd parties come up "technical solutions" like in the Sim City 2013 scenario.
I am sure most people (as it now stands) would welcome that the "ending slidshow" would be put on the web instead of in the game due to "technical reasons" in how hard it might be to update all PC/console copies online if a new dlc come out, and I have to agree! And why not make DA:I text based so the game in its full glory can be put online and run in a web browser? I think you converted me to your course now... yes... I see the light!
