I actually only played 2 of them. Most are only me trying to make the character look right and then was disappointed when I started the game and had to redo it. :P Took me one night and half a day before I had made one I was satisfied with. :D

But I now see that the Story is blank on my DLC-characters. :(

Is that for your characters only created in the DLC or do you mean game saves for characters that were created in DAO/DAA and were then imported into DLC?
(am asking cause I'm tried to sync my DAO characters to my profile as well today)

It's the characters imported. And it have been like this since I imported them so it's no new problem. And my Dalish Elf Theron's portrait have never shown. Just look and you see what I mean. All the ones without portrait are bugged.

Again though, it was just an account I created, I didn't think or know of any connection to the game whatsoever. I didn't even know how to connect it to the game.

Load up the game, go into the options on the main menu there will be a section for online account and you will be able to put in your info for your origin account. Once that is done you should be able to link up and get your games onto the bsn.

On console anyway, in the options for DA:O and DA2, there should be a selection box (check mark or empty) to upload analytics data to Bioware's server. Check that box. It's been a long time since I played them, but I think that's how it starts. Afterwards, there was always a scrolling message at the bottom of the screen saying whether login with your account was successful, identified by the email address you sign up with. Otherwise, it may require you to link your gamer accounts to your Origin/BioWare account  on this website or a link to EA's main site. After that, everything should update automatically. You should be able to get to that process if you click in to register one of your console games.

Hopefully, with it being a much bigger deal now, DA:I will have a prominent prompt to sign in, link, or create an account right early on so everybody has a clear understanding about it. That's one bit of important information we don't have yet. :-/

Edit: If it doesn't work from inside the old games (I've had problems with their automatic login last I played), linking your accounts via the website should still work. Good luck :) I hadn't thought about how it could be an issue in a while.

I wonder if part of the beta testing has been focused around sorting out synching issues.

I would hope so.

In the video the blond gal in the middle set said something about that they were working on it.  Edit(Sorry never got her name)

Of course the other problem is that most of the info is wrong (I have a character for each origin in Origins, and I beat DA2 unlike what it says) because I rarely if ever have my PS3 online unless I have to

Yeah, don't put too much stock on data ever uploading right. I have twelve Wardens that never uploaded, my Hawkes and DA2 achievements stopped synching at all around 2012... it's not pretty.

Oh man don't say that now, I'm gonna start thinking the reason a lot of us didn't get into the beta was because we didn't have any characters uploaded to test the import with. That'd be super rich, since we don't have those characters because they never fixed the synching, and then I'd just pout and make myself sad.

Oh. Now I went and made myself sad. :(

Wheeeee. So much new info.

I'm unable to see any of my old characters on the old Bioware social network so I am hoping it'll work on my newer computer at least. If not I guess I will just have to do it all from scratch, not that I mind or anything.

Sounds about right, none of my Wardens or Hawkes have ever synched up on my Profile, nor have any of my DAO or DA2 Achievements (hell, the damn Profile refuses to acknowledge that I have DA2 for PC, no matter how many times I try to get it to appear). Have been trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or not today, what with the reveal of new Keep info, but am getting frustrating with trying to get my characters to sync with that damn BW Profile...  <_<

I don't need the sync, right? I can enter all the same information manually?

That seems like the less troublesome option for me at this point.

From what I saw, it looked optional

No you don't and this will be the option I will most likely take, however i'm curious if it detecting you owned dlc or had certain achievements unlocked affects dragon age inquisition at all. E.g. Get dragon armour in inquisition?

Apologies if this has already been asked, but does anyone know what happens with offline console profiles that need to access the Keep?

If I download the Keep to my XBox Live profile, is that profile the only one that can then use the Keep for importing/worldbuilding, or will all offline profiles on that machine be able to access it as well?

It looked 100% optional which should mean everyone should be able to get everything ready to upload into DAI either by the sync or just manual upload

You set your preferred one to import into Inquisition, which you then start from. Then you can go and make a new game with a different worldstate that you selected to be imported

IIRC it's easier than this on the xbox, which is what I believe they are using.  You should be able to just hit the "Y" button at the main menu, and it should attempt to connect you to EA servers - just log in using the account you use on the forums now, and I imagine you'd be set.  :)

I guess what I'm asking is, if I download the Keep to my Live profile (say Player1), can the offline profiles (Player2, 3, and 4) use the downloaded Keep to manage their savegames as well? There's more than one person who uses the XBox, and only the one Live (and thus directly internet-connected) profile on the machine. Hell, all of my favourite savegames are on an offline profile, and I only use the XBLive one to manage patches and updates.

So does the Keep act like a game or patch, in that it's applied to all profiles equally (whether they're on- or offline)? Or would every profile need to download its own/have an online connection?

I'll just be back in another reincarnation when all my predictions (as told) will have become the full blown truth, as with the Mass Effect 3 ending, don't worry!

You mean your prediction that no one will be able to use the Keep or play multiplayer 15 years from now?   Well good luck with that.  I'm sure we'll all be waiting with bated breath.  ;)

Aaanyway, one thing I can't help but wonder - does the Keep automatically fuse together the savegames related to Origins, Awakening, Golems and Witch Hunt?  Because on the BSN each of those get logged as a separate character...  0o

Good question, I had completely forgotten that was the case.

(Off topic but personally, I wouldn't mind if Golems of Amgarrak was ditched entirely).
