Finally watched the Keep reveal video.

It looks gorgeous. The team that has been working on it has done an amazing job so far.

I will continue to anxiously check my email and spam folders and pray to the war nug gods for an invite.

ETA: I was wondering how it works with your Hawke, and the world state you imported for your Hawke. Does it automatically account for that, or do you have to piece it together yourself?

Quick question.

When we have to pick our Warden data to upload into the keep, we have to pick the witch hunt one right? Because my BSN account made 4 profiles for one Warden character. One for Origin, one for Awakening, one for golem of amgarrak and one for witch hunt. Since witch hunt is the latest, I presume we choose that one?

Well my profile on the old BSN stopped updating a long time ago.

So yeah...I'm not sold on using an old system which used to work when it felt like it.

I hope updating those old profile isn't important ...

It's a bad news for me , and just makes me feel like I'm going to have an headache with the Keep.

Good question, I had completely forgotten that was the case.

(Off topic but personally, I wouldn't mind if Golems of Amgarrak was ditched entirely).

From the screens shown for DA:O in the Keep video, it looks like Golems of Amgarrak isn't getting factored into any of the DAO choices  (the only DAO DLC that was shown as impacting the Keep's world state/s was DA: Awakening, The Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, and Witch Hunt)

I guess what I'm asking is, if I download the Keep to my Live profile (say Player1), can the offline profiles (Player2, 3, and 4) use the downloaded Keep to manage their savegames as well? There's more than one person who uses the XBox, and only the one Live (and thus directly internet-connected) profile on the machine. Hell, all of my favourite savegames are on an offline profile, and I only use the XBLive one to manage patches and updates.

So does the Keep act like a game or patch, in that it's applied to all profiles equally (whether they're on- or offline)? Or would every profile need to download its own/have an online connection?

There's no download for the Keep. It's a web page just like this one, so you'd have to connect the offline profiles to get their world states.

Just saw the video and I'm impressed by the level of craftsmanship the app shows. I do front end work and gotta say the interactions and overall experience look lovely. Brilliant work!

After watching the video, I'm even more excited for the Dragon Age Keep. I am a little confused about the prompt for Warden's Keep… What if I slayed Sophia, but, after sealing the veil, I also killed Avernus? Does that get factored in or is it just assumed that one of them was killed while the other lived? I guess it's okay if that's that way it is, I was just wondering.

I tried logging in on DA:O for the first time with my Origins account. It worked! My character immediately updated to my player profile and has the correct look. Thanks to those who suggested it.

From what I saw, there is an option that accounts for the death of both of them.

I only saw two choices the second with the options: "did not encounter Avernus", "sided with Sophia, slaying Avernus", and "sided with Avernus, slaying Sophia". I'm fine with that, I guess, but I kinda hoped for one more choice in Warden's Keep for whether you let Avernus live and continue his research (ethically or not) or killed him.

Unrelated, I'm actually super happy that we can import characters from our Origins accounts :)

I went back and looked and I was mistaken, it does only allow for the death of one or the other. Maybe they're still working on adding certain outcomes.

I hope I've got this right. We can create a world state without having uploaded any characters anywhere, and we can edit the (first) name of the newly created Warden and/or Hawke when we make said world state. Yes?

Ah. Well, that sucks.

Having seen the reveal video, let me see if i have this straight

Your save files are now useless, with no relation to the keep.

You must use the keep to make a world state for DA:I, completely independent of your save files.

If you synced achievement & character data to the BSN before hand, It will automate some of that world state crafting for you.

Am i correct in that understanding ?

If so i am very concerned because i have no synced characters or achievements, from when i actually played the games.

Does this mean i just have to sit down make world state from scratch with absolutely no import whatsoever. ?

You are correct, but we've known save files were toast and we'd have to manually rebuild world states at the Keep for months now. This is not news. The only real news today is that those people lucky enough to have been able to synch their profiles may import them, but everyone else will still have to do over from scratch.

I had a thought about this when I was doing a little troubleshooting to get my first Warden to show up on my player profile. For both Witch Hunt and Golems of Amgarrak you can upload a Warden from Origins or Awakening. You cannot, however, (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) upload a Warden who has completed WH into GoA or vice versa. Therefore, a save file from the end of WH could theoretically have all your data from Origins and Awakening, but none from GoA. Maybe they decided to ditch it and only support saves from Origins, Awakenings, or WH since that is obviously more important story-wise. And maybe a save from the end of WH is the ideal one to use for the Keep.

Hopefully that makes sense. This is all just a theory, I know nothing for certain.

Since Gollems has such few "decisions" to import (basically did you play it or not, I guess), you could import an Origins+WH save and fix Gollems' flags manually at the Keep.

Thanks for the answer.

I guess i should look into syncing any data at all, if at all possible.

Just checked my "profile" from the old BSN... lots of missing characters/information. Ah well. :(

It'll just take me a little longer to enter all my world states. Though, I am a bit concerned that none of my Wardens' custom appearances will be synched...

Well, Mike did say that if we were to see our previous characters back, we would be given means to change how they look, so don't lose hope. If the Warden shows up at all, we'll be able to customize them somehow.

Don't know if this will help but my 2nd Warden synched immediately because I started Awakening w/ them while logged in for the first time. My 1st Warden didn't synch until I opened up an auto-save from Witch Hunt and replayed the ending.

Something that just popped into my head while I was watching the Keep demo AbilityDrain uploaded--during the first part of the video it showed Keep syncing with your Origins account and you getting to pick your hero. For those heros/achievements and such to show up do you have to have those save files on your computer? I'm planning to play DA:I on a new computer where I won't have those save files available--will the Keep still recognize my heros and achievements?

Syncing of achievements and heroes does not need the save on your local machine.  Allowing you to change between Xbox 360 / PS3 / PC / PS4 / Xbox One between Dragon Games is one of the major reasons we are doing the Keep the way we are.

It also seems that some people think we are syncing savegame data for your heroes, based on the videos; there's not been any change for that since the most recent FAQ, and we still don't have any direct importing of savegame plot data.  You'll have to customize your world state whether your heroes are imported or not, unless you are happy with whatever the default is.  What you can do is select which hero is in your world state, vs. the world state for your hero.
