I bought DA:II from PSN & after realizing that you need an origin account I went to check my BSN profile and DA:II isn't registered after all this while. How do I do it as there is no box or code?

Also I can't seem to have DA:II online profile and the achievements (completed the game) to show on my profile, but that may be a problem with the registering process.

And last can anyone explain to me, what's the difference in making choices in "watch your story" and Tapestries?

So here's something really odd and I have no idea if we can use it or not with regards to the Keep, butttttt thought I'd mention it anyway...

So as we all know now, we can't sync our DAO characters online to our BSN/Origin Profile anymore due to some f***ed-up issues with the DA servers since they switched over to Origin.  <_<

However.... apparently, you can still upload a character made in the DAO Character Creator software to your Profile.

I have always had problems with the Dragon Age: Origins servers, but yesterday I was finally able to update my characters completely to the website with zero errors, but any character that I had an error with would prevent and additional characters from propagating properly so I would delete that upload in the Profile Diagnostics tab and save them again. I just found the servers to be hit or miss like they have been for the last five years.

In Play mode, you watch the narration and every time an event where a choice could be made is reached, you have to stop it and give your input on what happened (is what I understand from the video). In tapestry mode, you simply click through the tapestry and make your choices in each event.

You can fill up your whole story in tapestry mode first and watch the full narration with no  interruptions once you've made all your choices, too.

Cheers, so the choices in both cases are the same. I was wondering if some are exclusive to each mode.

I just checked my profile & DA:II is in my games list here but is not on my old BSN profile, what am I doing wrong??  :crying:

I have a question, I hope someone can answer. So if I use an origin account, that hasn't bought DAI, will I be able to use Keep,or is it only usable by accounts that have it bought on their account ?

The Keep will not be checking which games you own or anything, all you need is an Origin account to be able to login. It will open to public before the game launches, so technically anyone who uses the Keep prior to launching will not have the game yet. ;)

If your concern is that you bought a disk copy of DA:I and need to wait for shipping, or you haven't pre-ordered at all, don't sweat it. You'll still be able to enter the Keep with your Origin account and prepare your world states in advance of actually getting the game.

But in the last video of the keep reveal I noticed something , there is no '' Mark of the assassin DLC'' ( do we have romance Tallis , or have we attrack the Alpha wyvern :P for exemple), ''retur to ostagard DLC '' ( do we have vuried the king , etc) or even the compagnions in the awakenig expension (we see nathaniel alive and well, but wath about the others compagnion  ? they could ask if we, for exemple: make sigrun grey warden or not ,etc.)

Just because it's not in the video doesn't mean there are no options(or available choices) in the Keep.

After all, there was no "city elf warden" choice shown in the video, either...

Still this Q & A doesn't reveal everything & does not answer most of anything, especially the important factors.

1. Internet Connections being 56K Dial Up to Wi Fi, I know I talk about this all the time, but still nothing solid has been CONFIRMED.

2. Considering Consoles Require DSL to Wi Fi to connect or Boot Up  & Read & Access the Origns Account I don't think 56K Dial Up would Access Consoles or Upload.

3. Still has not been confirmed if USB Flash Drives could be a Possible Choice.

4. Basically people who are Unable to Connect to a Console Online more than likely will have to play Inquisition on DEFAULT.

Nothing has been talked about concerning people who have no ONLINE ACCESS, what are there options & what will they have to do.

Yes, these issues have been addressed. Most of them in the Reveal.

1.  Using the Dragon Age Keep requires an internet connection.  This was stated basically on Day One of the discussion (almost a year ago now) and hasn't changed.  It has only been made more and more explicit.

2.  No USB option.  The Keep isn't an app, and it doesn't "run" on your platform.  It's a website, and you can only use it through a browser.  But you can use a computer, or a tablet, or a phone to do so.

3.  People without any internet access for their platforms will have to choose (one of) the default world-state to start their games.  There will be no "direct import" of saves.  The Keep will be the ONLY way to get the specific results of your previous games into DA:I.  Only.  Way.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we have to connect to the internet at least once just to be able to register and PLAY  Dragon Age games?

If that's the case, then I don't understand why internet connection for the Keep® is even an issue. They've also mentioned that the Keep® can be used on smartphones, etc. so changes can be made that way and then a quick connect to it for the game for updates shouldn't take any time at all. Also, if people can post to the BSN... *shrug*

@Roxy Ferret;

Being able to connect to the internet with your smartphone doesn't mean that you have a way to connect to the internet with your PC or PS3.

While I think the number of people concerned about this is a very small, they are in a tough position.  One that, I'm afraid, leaves them with no alternative to using a "default" world-state unless they can take their platforms somewhere else to get connected to the Keep long enough to get the world-state they established through their phone (or whatever.)

No and yes. You only have to connect at least once with the PC version but this doesn't apply to the console versions of the game.

Being able to connect to the internet with your smartphone doesn't mean that you have a way to connect to the internet with your PC or PS3.

I believe several BioWare games already required you to login to Origin at least once on the PC. So anyone who can't connect their PC to the Internet has already not been able to play a few of the previous BioWare games, so DAI is not any different.

And as to Whatnow, you already have mentioned a solution to your problem many months ago but every time you post in this thread or create a new thread about the Keep you magically forget about your own suggested solution, namely hooking up your console to the Internet at a friend's place. You have also been told a bazillion times already there is NO USB solution and that it doesn't matter what type of Internet connection you have because you are just accessing a website, just like this forum.

And yes, if you can't connect your console to the Keep than you will have to play with the default. A default which you saw as superior to the Keep a month ago. You keep flipflopping about this issue and still don't read anything people tell you.

Another time, there is NO USB support. There are NO save games being generated so there is nothing you can even save on any device. Your game points to a specific part of the Keep, the worldstate you set as default, that is it. There is no save game being generated at all so nothing you can even put on a USB. It is also a website and not an app. A website just like this forum you seem to be able to access, so you can also access the Keep. Is it possible the website is slow? Sure, it is but that is what you when technology progresses and you stay behind. You may want to check if you can see dragonage.com in a normal way. Even with good Internet that site can be slow because of all the bells and whistles. If that site still loads then you more than certainly will be able to use the Keep.

*snip*

That's obvious. My intention was to point out that people with limited internet access on other means, who may have smartphones, have an alternate way of accessing the Keep® to make any choices/changes they want, ensuring minimal online time for direct ingame access.

As for using the 'default', this is where my confusion lies: If you can't register the game, how can you even play? If you DO have time to register, then there's time to grab the info from the Keep®, even if it's created elsewhere.

As for details on the Keep®, I'm aware of them; I'm in the beta. Just trying to help out as much as I'm allowed to.

I have a friend that plans on tethering their console to the internet through their smartphone so any of the devices that have a wireless connection should also be able to access the internet that way. If they stayed with a "physical import" then anyone who is switching consoles will not have an option to import either for their new console won't be able to read their old saves since they are not backwards compatible or for some reason they don't have their saves anymore.  They cannot make one application that will meet every contingency and making multiple applications can lead to other issues.

This thread seems to have more information than I've been able to find elsewhere, so I have a question.

Does the Keep include any information in the Hero import process to help us differentiate between different Wardens or Hawkes?

I know it pulls gender/race/class, but is there a way to see if a particular Hero profile has completed DLC, etc?

My big issue is that I used the same Warden for Awakening and the Origins DLCs, and every one saved a new profile to the BSN, so there are a bunch of Wardens with the same name/race/class/gender. Two or three of them are even the same level, and I have no idea which of them has done the DLCs or expansions - they don't contain any story information. Ditto for Hawke, my Xbox is in another country so I have no way of telling which Hawke did Legacy and MoTA.

Or... does none of this matter? If the Keep is only pulling the Hero name/class/race/gender/stats, and if everything else story-wise is set by the player, I guess it totally doesn't affect anything if the profile we choose hasn't completed Awakening or the DA2 DLCs.

I don't think I'm saying anything I shouldn't when I say it doesn't matter.

I am pretty confident that importing your profile does change certain choices in the Keep instead of having to set every single choice manually. When I check one of my wardens it shows under story what achievements he has gotten and at what time. There are a couple of very specific achievements which I doubt apply across the board if your other wardens never achieved the feat. Some achievements seem to be based around certain choices too.

The devs have said elsewhere that every story choice is set in the Keep, so I thought this would be the case. Thanks for replying!

That begs the question though - what is the purpose of the Hero import? We could make a new Keep worldstate and set the Warden's/Hawke's details manually, so is there something special about doing it through the BSN character profiles?

Nothing if the achievements don't set anything. I still very much doubt the achievements don't set a few choices automatically. There is no point in importing anything from BSN if the importing only changes the image of your hero, sets the background and race.

Nothing has been talked about concerning people who have no ONLINE ACCESS, what are there options & what will they have to do.

Such as No talk has been talked about between the console versions & how much each console version of Inquisition Varies such as what is the Diffrence between PS3 Inquisition & PS4 Inquisition, such as Features to other deals.

More Solid Info on KEEP is Needed, More info is also needed for people who can not GET ONLINE.

My friends are confused I showed them this Q & A deal & it still has them stratching their Heads.

Many don't know heads or tails about the DK such as How to Access it, Upload it or What To Do.

Many are on Dial Up being they can not get Online with a Console. So Bioware needs to make a FAQ explaining what are there OPTIONS.

Many said they may skip If Inquisition does not have a normal Direct Import.

Nothing needs to be explained for these people.

No internet = no Keep.

If your internet is too slow to connect to = no Keep.

You're friends will be skipping DAI I guess. There is no direct import or USB option.

Actually, you reminded me, there's a programme called 'Easy Tether' that's available for smartphones. It was recommended awhile back, and it seems there's both a free, and a paid version of it. Just a PSA in case anyone is interested.

Back to the topic, sorry for the OT posting.

I thought the story was imported from the BSN forum as well, at least that's what it looked like to me, and we could edit the choices reflected to make sure they were correct.
