I am pretty confident that importing your profile does change certain choices in the Keep instead of having to set every single choice manually. When I check one of my wardens it shows under story what achievements he has gotten and at what time. There are a couple of very specific achievements which I doubt apply across the board if your other wardens never achieved the feat. Some achievements seem to be based around certain choices too.

That might be the case, but surely people will be double-checking every choice regardless. Even if achievements also influence the starting Tapestry, I'd want to know that things aren't randomly being assigned.

I already raised an eyebrow at the Keep video, where someone mentioned that certain plot flags are given automatic starting values based on the Warden's gender/race/class. That seems like a recipe for players who aren't paying attention to end up with a world state that they don't want, if they aren't super careful about going back and changing everything manually.

My understanding, from Dragon Age: Origins, was that the info on BSN was grabbed from EA's Origin (same place the Keep® gets it), and not the other way around. However, deleting a PC save profile from BSN will do the same on Origin.

Let's bring these back (from like three pages ago, seriously guys)

It also seems that some people think we are syncing savegame data for your heroes, based on the videos; there's not been any change for that since the most recent FAQ, and we still don't have any direct importing of savegame plot data.  You'll have to customize your world state whether your heroes are imported or not, unless you are happy with whatever the default is.  What you can do is select which hero is in your world state, vs. the world state for your hero.

Having your gamertags linked and characters showing on the BSN will help if you want to be able to select "your" hero, including their class and portrait, as well as being able to see all of the achievements and other unlocks you have earned.  Whether your hero exists in the Keep or not does not directly affect how your world state is populated - that is all done by choices you make in the Keep, starting on first login.

BSN does not import your story, does not populate your choices. You'll still have to rebuild your world state from scratch whether you pulled your character's basic stats (name, class, portrait) from the BSN or not.

I have always had problems with the Dragon Age: Origins servers, but yesterday I was finally able to update my characters completely to the website with zero errors, but any character that I had an error with would prevent and additional characters from propagating properly so I would delete that upload in the Profile Diagnostics tab and save them again. I just found the servers to be hit or miss like they have been for the last five years.

Hmmm, I'll give that a try (at this point, what could it hurt? lol)

I see, so there is zero point to the feature. It looked like setting those few things yourself would likely take less time if you only played a few characters than having it load achievements which do nothing.

My Friends are still confused on Dragon's Keep, they don't have the Luxury as I do of taking a console to a Relatives Home & doing DLC Add-Ons such as I do.

Me, I am taking both my Laptop & my PS3 Console to my Relatives to do my DELUXE Add-Ons & use my Origins to do Dragon's Keep.

My friend She lives in a Worse place than I do, Even farther out than I do. I showed her the Q & A deal regarding DK APP, & also the Video deal about it.

Still she did not Understand DK APP & She is Worried she has No Options cause of  Her Location, I told her even playing Inquisition on Default The game should be AWESOME.

She is playing Inquisition on her Xbox 360, While me, I am playing Inquisition on my PS3.

I would help her Out, But she lives To Far Away, I would take her Console to my Relatives & do her DLC such as I do mine on my PS3 such as I did on Mass Effect.

Sucks that my Friend may have to play on DEFAULT. Even if she can use her 56K Dial Up on DK APP, she would be Unable to Upload it on a Console since 56K Dial Up doesn't work on Consoles.

I showed her the Process of Jimmying a 56K To a Console but She Told me She isn't very Tech Savvy.

She is also Wondering how Different Inquisition will Look & Play on her Xbox 360 compared to Other Consoles.

I told her I didn't know Bioware Has not stated The Console Diffrences or what Has been Taken out compared to PS4 & X1 versions of the game.

I also told her since she Has no ONLINE to get the Normal Inquisition X360 version.

I know a lot of People in the same Boat as she is in. They may not have ANY OPTIONS.

Your friend is out of luck in using the Keep if she can't hook her console up to the internet.  Period.  Nothing to be confused about.  That's it.  If she can't find a solution to connecting her console to the internet she can use the default state.  If that's not acceptable, don't get the game.

As far as her Xbox 360, it won't look as pretty as a new gen console or the PC.  The content is the same.  There may be less ambient people walking about, but aside from that and the graphics she's not missing anything.

I really don't understand why you and your friends aren't able to use adult logic with some of these questions.  Seriously.

Dude I figured out how DK APP works, I am taking my Laptop & My PS3 To my Relatives since I have to go their anyways to do my PS3 DELUXE Add-Ons.

Has Bioware Said what all Comes with DELUXE DLC, I know some is Armors, Weapons, and a Mount something about a Throne for Sky Hold.

I was helping out my Friend. She Lives so far Out Birds Need a GPS to Find her HOME. Also Her Place is So Bad, Her Location you can not even use a CELL or Tablets.

Me, I figured out My Situation, I told her Just play Inquisition on DEFAULT. I would if I didn't have my Relatives To go to.

Thankfully I will Stay All Weekend over Their House & do the DELUXE DLC & Fix my Keep WORLD - STATE.

I read a Site that Claimed the 360-PS3 would have Normal Direct Import such as Previous games Did. The Site Also Showed info on DK APP.

I feel for her I do but the vast majority of people have access to the internet using much faster connections that 56k.  Bioware isn't doing this to "hurt" anyone, this is being done because there is no way for importing to saves to work that doesn't cost Bioware too much due to multiple factors (changing engines, changing consoles, game patches to attempt to fix plot flags, etc).  This was the most cost efficient way to handle it.  People who cannot connect to the net are in a minority and it wouldn't make sense for Bioware to not allow the keep simply because of a minority. In much the same way it wouldn't make sense for them to create a keep that could only be accessed by a small percent of the population.  No matter what Bioware did, there would be someone who would say that it doesn't work well for them. Their only option is to create a way that the majority of people could use.

There will most likely be no direct save importing due to the issues I mentioned although last I heard Bioware is still looking into it.

Perhaps when DA:I releases you could allow your friend to accompany you to where ever you go so she could at least get one world state imported. However, like you said even with the default world state the game will probably be awesome.

There is no direct import for any version of the game. As far as a 56k modem she still might be able to get something like The Keep to work it would just require connecting her console through her computer to the internet.

Here is a Microsoft article giving instructions.

So, you were just posting to let us know a step by step of her dilemma then?

There's no direct import for the Keep.  If you don't see it on Bioware's website or in the blog, it's not accurate.

Have they stated how many world states you can have attached to a Keep profile? I thought it was six, but I can't quite remember where I got that idea. I'm hoping it's at least eight though (for trying each race/gender combo with a unique world state).

Currently, the Keep holds up to 5 world states at any given time.

While i'm usually the first to be all questions are good.. ask more questions, there does come a point when people should read previous posts and dev announcements and especially the FAQ. Most questions at this stage have been asked and answered at least a dozen times.

@Whatnow

Sighs. How many times does it need to be said the Keep is not a app? It seems you don't understand what makes something an app.

And no there is NO direct importing. Stop believing third part sources outside of thus site or forum. The FAQ in the news section made it abundantly clear there is no direct importing. I think it is also good sense to not tell others it may still come because it makes people too hopeful whereas it more than likely won't happen before release if ever.

If she wants to use the Dragon Age Keep badly enough, she will figure out how to hook her 360 up to her 56K ;)

I'm surprised nobody responded to my post about the endgame boon from DA:O. I'm guess it wasn't shown in the video.

This thread seems to have more information than I've been able to find elsewhere, so I have a question.

Does the Keep include any information in the Hero import process to help us differentiate between different Wardens or Hawkes?

I know it pulls gender/race/class, but is there a way to see if a particular Hero profile has completed DLC, etc?

My big issue is that I used the same Warden for Awakening and the Origins DLCs, and every one saved a new profile to the BSN, so there are a bunch of Wardens with the same name/race/class/gender. Two or three of them are even the same level, and I have no idea which of them has done the DLCs or expansions - they don't contain any story information. Ditto for Hawke, my Xbox is in another country so I have no way of telling which Hawke did Legacy and MoTA.

Or... does none of this matter? If the Keep is only pulling the Hero name/class/race/gender/stats, and if everything else story-wise is set by the player, I guess it totally doesn't affect anything if the profile we choose hasn't completed Awakening or the DA2 DLCs.

In your BSn profile you can see the story progression of those different wardens, there you'd be able to tell which one has completed the DLC's

edit: doh just saw you mention that they have no story info, my bad

A lot of available choices were not shown in the video. It wasn't a step-by-step of every single tile in the tapestry.

Yeah, some of them are just blank under the story tab - it's weird.

And since BSN created multilple profiles for the same Warden, I have three or four characters with the same level on my account (for Golems of Amgarrak, Witch Hunt, etc).

I'm really grateful for that Keep video. I own Origins and 2 for PS3; picked them up on the cheap to play through 'em for the first time at the beginning of the year. But I'm getting an X1 this holiday season and that's where I'll be playing Inquisition. Long story short, the Origin ID my PSN account was connected to until I received that news yesterday was in fact my ex's, as we used to share pretty much everything, whereas my Xbox Live GamerTag was already properly linked to a new ID. It didn't mean anything to me before because I don't normally care about keeping track of data and whatnot, but when I discovered that you get a fuller suite of details on past heroes only if previous information is synced across the Origin ID, well, I immediately contacted tech support about switching the PSN account over to my new ID.

tldr; thank you for being thorough, Keep demo.

Where must people live to be limited to 56K in 2014? Sheesh.
