I had to go back to the old site in order to do this... the only way I found to do that was by following the link in this thread: http://forum.bioware...s/#entry7118249
Just click on the link labeled "here" in Jessica Merizan's OP.
However you get back to the old site, you will need to look under "My Games" on the left side of the screen and that should list your registered games... click on one of them to see your characters. Also, if you wind up at an all white screen like I always do, just go up to the address, click the box, and press "Enter" to retry... it should show up the second time. Refresh would probably also work...
And... I think that's all you need to know... This is kind of a roundabout way, but I have no idea how to do this from the current version of the site...
Whoa, I didn't know those bonus items even existed! Thanks!

I actually got a code today too (?????? can't even believe it yet), so...
just dropping by now to give all my fellow sad pandas a big big panda hug:

Keep trying, guys, there's more PAX tomorrow and there'll be more codes going around. If all else fails, let's cross our fingers and hope you get one in the next round of invites!

Ditto. Unless my username magically pops up in the next wave of Keep invites, I'm just going to give up and wait for the official release whenever that may be. ![]()

So I just went to the DAKeep website to see if anything changed, and when it prompted me to log back in with the origin account I used to apply for the beta, it asked me to re-complete the survey, anyone else have this problem?

Yup every time I go to the site it tells me the same thing. It's never once said thanks for entering the beta.

No. Keep Devs have said they have the apps, it's just a web issue.

I'm still a member of the sad panda club. I think maybe a member of the paranoid sad panda club too, because if I try to sign into the keep just to test if I missed the email or not, the keep always acts like I never signed up before and wants me to do it again.... but does doing it again place me lower on the list? I've been too paranoid to redo it, lol.

Nah, your first app is the one that it selected applying again due to a bug just adds another one but doesnt affect it. (look through the bioware posts for more info)

While i'm usually the first to be all questions are good.. ask more questions, there does come a point when people should read previous posts and dev announcements and especially the FAQ. Most questions at this stage have been asked and answered at least a dozen times.
Sorry, I hadn't noticed the link to the FAQ in the OP.

I was sorted long ago into the 'sad kittens' corner. I am still there obviously. Probably will be until the Keep opens up to all about a month before game release XD But... hey, one can always hope :3

*sigh* Part of me wants to get into the Beta since I am positive I could break something....but I know I would lose interest part way through so probably better if I avoid wasting a beta slot.
You'd think that if enough people
buggedasked Microsoft and Sony for a way to use USBs then those organizations would be able to come up with a way to use them with the Keep. I have a crafting machine which requires a USB in order for the software to be upgraded. However they had certain requirements and I can not use that USB for anything else or the upgrade will be blocked. It's how they protect their machine.
IMHO it's not good business practice for them to sell a machine which can be used off-line, sell a game which has an on-line component and not provide some mechanism, even a convoluted one, to work around internet restrictions. Or maybe I should say I don't think it's good customer service.
A. Why would Sony or Microsoft care? You are basically asking them to reduce the security of their systems (by increasing the amount of file types that are allowed to be moved onto the system) in exchange for a minority of their user base being able to access a feature on a game that is not exclusive to their system and in the case of Microsoft at least will probably interest a very small minority of their established user base. Where is the incentive for them here? It isn't going to move consoles. It isn't going to make the system better.
B. Even if they added support for this, the game would not be able to parse the file without a major patch....which you would need to connect to the Internet to download. And I do not believe you can download game patches onto a USB or anything like that at least for PS3 and PS4. So for people who don't have Internet access, they would have to download a patch (which is likely larger than the Keep file) in order to be able to use the Keep offline as you propose. So yeah, adding the functionality at this point would absolutely not help people who have no Internet access on their console. In fact it would only help people who have Internet access, making ti completely pointless. Hilarity! (I'm surprised I am only realizing this now as I type it).
C. Sony and Microsoft are not selling the game. So they give the bare minimum of caring in regards to how it interacts with their system. Bioware/EA are the ones who made the choice. Frankly I agree with the choice as it helps to future proof the import mechanism. Sucks for those who can't use it, but doing one persistent world state for all future games is better than import bugs building on import bugs every import or having to re-enter all of the relevant world state information every single time a new game comes out.

If it's the same format as on the internet then it wouldn't be a major patch. For all we know the game already looks to either the internet or a USB, ready for the eventuality of console systems coming up with a system. And if not this game then maybe the next.
Don't game developers have to work with MS or Sony if they want their games on those consoles? Otherwise wouldn't all games be on all platforms, minus exclusivity deals? Maybe you're right that it would be a security risk, and I can certainly understand being hesitant. But if enough people ask then maybe there is something that can be done. I can imagine some work arounds, including the USB's coming directly from MS and SONY, protected of course, but it requires cooperation on the part of the organizations. And they will only know if it's worthwhile from a good will perspective if enough people ask for it. Maybe they would even charge $5/USB +s&h. Or come up with an alternative that costs nothing.
BTW, I am not against the Keep. I think it's a good idea and am looking forward to using it. Anyway, I don't have any more to say on the subject. I am going to keep my fingers crossed that the Keep opens up soon.

Hey BioWare coworkers who work on the Keep. Can you give me some more beta keys to give away to people, please? It would be much appreciated
No pressure, rad BioWare coworkers of mine. Millions of people have told me in secret that they would love a beta key. Think of the children
I will try and get some more Keep beta keys for everyone, but they will require some quick thinking when I send them out.
Can't just give away stuff without a little bit of effort, now can we? Makes a win feel so much better!
Note: I will not have codes until at earliest this afternoon, about 5-6 hours from now. So don't hold up your life for that!
