Still a sad panda here, but hey, at least I've broke over 80k challenge score in ME3's MP while waiting for DAI and The Keep, lol. That's not sad at all.... nope.... *cries a little*

So, will everyone get access to the choices from DA2 Legacy and MOTA? I mean, it wouldn't be really fair: that players who didn't buy it get access to those choices.

If its a dlc in the DA franchise then yes you will get access to it.. this has been known since the keep was announced.

They have said in the past that the keep will go over all the dlc's, even for peeps who haven't played them or bought them or even heard of them if they are new players.

You think people who haven't bought the DLC shouldn't be allowed access to those choices in the Keep?

To be honest, yes. If the keep is linked to our Origin accounts then they would know who owned the DLC. It should be blocked off to those who didn't purchase it.

Aww, I don't mind sharing. Think of it in a more selfish way if you wish, if they didn't also get access to it then any tie in's from the dlc's into DAI would be tiny and easy to miss, this way they can have a larger impact if they are available to everyone. Plus, making choices in the keep is NOT the same as actually playing the dlcs.

People buy DLC to play it, not for the choices is has .  I think preventing access to the choices in Keep wouldn't serve any purpose, and I say that as someone who's paid for both DA2 and all its DLC multiple times.

That is not remotely logical. With your logic they should disallow people who didn't but the games proper to use the Keep at all either.

And regardless if you bought the DLCs or not our hereos did go through that story so we should be able to set our choices instead being forced to get what could be a conflicting world state.

I am glad that Bioware isn't blocking anything for anyone. It is not as if people couldn't read up on or watch all of the DLC for free. And often, I have seen it being stated before, the people who want DLC to be blocked don't want the same for the actual games which makes no sense any way you slice it.

At the beginning of the official reveal of Dragon Age Keep (from minute 4:10), when the guy starts syncing his game data, some points are shown in the top (each content adds some of them). Are they only there to make a good look or have they some sort of utility?

Sure,  so your telling me: that if you bought a game at RRP, and the person next to you was given a part  of it for free, that you wouldn't feel a little pissed off?

I'm sorry, I don't get that. Didn't you buy those DLCs to play them, to have fun with them and to experience them?

Those who didn't buy them won't get all that with the Keep. What they can do is read a text, that describes what happend and they can fill a check box, sort of.

Edit: Isn't it the same for new players, who have never played DA:O or DA2? Should they be denied the Keep altogether, because they didn't buy the previouse games? It's not that they get the whole game for free. And not even a part of it, they just have the opportunity to set a worldstate..

I see where you're coming from, but those that didn't purchase certain DLC aren't getting a piece of the game for free. As others have stated before me, the whole purpose of buying DLC is to play it or even use it in some way in the game (for instance, DLC weapons, armour, outfits etc.). Allowing everyone to input their choices from any applicable DLC into the Keep, even those who didn’t purchase it, lets those who are new to the series prepare for DA:I and understand the Dragon Age world a little bit better. They still aren’t getting to enjoy the whole experience of actually playing the DLC. This is almost like getting mad at someone for watching a play through of any DLC on YouTube and essentially ‘experiencing’ it for free.

Personally, I don’t think DLC choices from any of the previous titles will have any major impact on DA:I. I believe there are some DLC that aren’t even mentioned in the Keep.

Just my $0.02.

Anyway, now I'll just go back to lurking... Carry on.

Obviously many of us are not. I'd think it was incredibly nicke-and-dimey of BioWare to force everybody to buy DLC for past games to unlock the full use of the Keep.

But here's the thing. When I buy a DLC, I buy more than just a few plot flags for import. I buy art assets, music, programming, encounter design, voice over, the writing, the new equipment my character will get while playing it - and let's not forget all the new enemies and the cinematic work. I get to enjoy the story in its fullest form. A person who simply reads about the choice in the Keep ultimately reads a few lines of text and flicks a switch.

But... that's not remotely what's happening. The Keep is a system that will allow people to choose the world-states of their games, and allow people who have never played the series before (aka, who have never bought any of the games, let alone the DLCs) to learn about the Dragon Age World. It's telling the story of the games so far, not giving away the games themselves. (Although Steam recently had a sale that allowed you to purchase the games and DLC for staggeringly cheap - were you pissed off about that, too?)

To answer your question, though - if I bought a game at RRP and the person next to me had a coupon or a rebate or had won a lottery or for any of a hundred other reasons was given the game for free, no, I wouldn't be pissed off, because being pissed off that someone gets something for free when I have to pay for it is incredibly selfish.

So, apparently there is a page on twitter that is generating codes for the beta. I've looked for it in the Keep profile in there and haven't found it, maybe due to the fact I did so on my phone, would someone be as nice as to show which page that is? Assuming it exists.

I'm not sure what you mean. But the devs have been posting pictures of Beta-Codes on Twitter, which could be redeemed in your Origin-Client. But those are gone within seconds. You have to be really fast.

Better off waiting for DAK's official launch instead of acting like a crab in a barrel.

Agreed! :D

This is really stressful and considering that the Keep opens its doorf in aproximately 6-7 weeks for everyone....

On which page have they been posting? Hitting F5 might be a good thing to pass time while I'm taking my mom to the doctor.

I just watched the video from last Friday. This looks really good. It would be nice to have a look at it early, but I won't start behaving like a Piranha for it. I know my world-states very well and I'll know what to do it when the Keep goes online.

you have to be ultra fast to get the codes. Or get lucky in the other competition (which ended)
