To be honest, yes. If the keep is linked to our Origin accounts then they would know who owned the DLC. It should be blocked off to those who didn't purchase it.

That's pretty selfish and petty.  It's not the same thing as them getting the DLC's.  It's just so they can access content in Inquisition (a game they will have paid for).  They don't then have access to play those DLC's for free.  They're getting access to content they have paid for.

By that logic. No-one should upload their gameplay to sites like youtube or twitch

the keep doesn't let u play the dlc's . those who didn't buy them missed out on playing those stories. the keep let's you just make decisions you could have done that's it . they have already said regardless if you personally played dlc or not . ur warden or hawke did those stories anyway so they are apart of the story .

locking them out is the same if you never bought either games saying they should be locked out of the keep for not playing either game . makes no sense since the keep is free

And wikis shouldn't be allowed to exist either because they also spoil the DLCs. Sorry but actual gameplay experience is very different from getting access to some choices. Nobody is taking away anything from the people who paid to play DLC.

Sure,  so your telling me: that if you bought a game at RRP, and the person next to you was given a part  of it for free, that you wouldn't feel a little pissed off?

I thought people bought games because they were fun, not because they'd have an impact on something else in five years' time.

As is indicated in the recent interview vids, the prior DA games would also be eliminated by that logic; some playing DAI will be doing so for the first time. And as others have shown, The Keep registers choices; does not offer gameplay.

And I purchase DLC to get to it early; do not care if Bioware gifts it for free later or not, as those Players had to wait. Also, it does not hurt me at all for Bioware to be generous to others; seems to be more selfish of me wanting to restrict such content.

WHEN WILL THEY OPEN THE DAMN KEEP???

In about 5 weeks.

so they have not then

If you can find this page, you should be able to find the answer to your constantly asked question.  Seriously.  I'm a fan of 'there are no stupid questions,' but it's a tad tedious for people ask the same, exact, basic question on a regular basis instead of looking at all the information already provided.  We are all going off the same information - if I know the answer, I'm sure you can find it too.

For the console, you will create a world state via the Keep website.  When you start your game it will prompt you to upload your world state.  Your console connects to the internet, you log into your Origin account, and it plugs it all into the game.  That's it.

Probably every single question you can think of about the keep, if its not in the faq has been answered in this thread.

The trick is finding the answers.

They don't get to play it if they don't own it. And if they didn't play it, chances are they won't understand the choices that are available to them in the Keep anyway,

I will think of trivia questions for this. Like how many types of Geth enemy types you fight in the dreadnought in ME3.

Trojan brings up some valid points even if you don't agree.I think new players to the series, and those of us that have consumed everything DA should be able to access the DLC choices. However those who didn't I'm not quite sure, I see it as a reward for everyone who was on board from the beginning. We spent the money throw us a bone.

Your reward was the pleasure of playing those games and DLC.

This was basically my response to someone on another forum (GameFAQs) that was complaining. That sure I could input the choices, but the best I can get of understanding it is reading wiki and the little blurbs on the keep, but he got to actually play, experience, and enjoy the entire DLC something that just reading a synopsis of won't do justice for.

I can't say I grasp the "I want something at someone else's expense" mentality of some people.

Playing the DLC was your reward.

Think of this. The DLC contains content our heroes did regardless if we bought the DLC or not. If people who didn't buy the DLC but did buy DAO and DA 2 don't get to set the outcome of the DLC there is a good possibility the default of the DLC completely conflicts with the characteristics of our heroes.

And blocking of the DLC content and not the actual games makes no sense whatsoever. Didn't the same people who bought the DLC also buy the actual games? So then why should DLC be treated completely differently?

This whole blocking off DLC stance seems akin to telling people they shouldn't be allowed to watch flashbacks before the start of a new episode of whichever bought for series. If someone only bought episode two of an episode why should they get to watch a flashback of episode one? It is pretty much the same thing an utterly retarded. The flashback and the DLC choices in the Keep are in no way the same as watching an episode or playing through an actual DLC in its entirety. Or in the same vain should people who haven't ever bought the DLC not be allowed to read synopsis on wikis either or should they also be blocked from being on this forum reading the experiences of others who did buy the DLC?

I understand where you guys are coming from, I just think if you hadn't played it, those choices should be default choices. It's just my opinion I'm crusty by nature anyway.

Without nothing else to discuss. We debate if everyone should have be given the dlc or not in the keep ;)

(despite the fact that the keep will give everyone the choices)

I can't see where anyone is coming from who wants DLC to be blocked off for everyone who hasn't played it and at the same time it is fine to allow everyone to set choices for the main game. I don't understand what is so different about DLC to want it blocked off.

I am really glad that BioWare sees this issue completely differently. Forcing default states on new customers is just not good business sense if you have a way to allow new customers to make said decisions without buying everything which came before. The longer the run of a series the more sense it makes to ease in new customers or you will sooner find yourself being unable to even expand your market.

Something else to discuss: What will you primarily use in the keep? The Tapestry or the Other thing (forget what its called) ?

I'll probably at first set everything that I did (and didnt do but wanted to) first and then sit back and let varric narrate it all for me.
