Dragon Age Keep ‏@DragonAgeKeep

Those with PAX beta codes, we'll start letting you in on Monday! Sorry, you'll have to be sad pandas a little longer: http://gph.is/18Pcxxn

Hooray! Though, I do wonder if they'll be letting everyone in (since it's probably less than 1000) people, or if they'll all be let in through the course of the week.

My luck with Beta invites has come to crashing halt, applied to the Keep Beta right after the announced they were taking applications way back when and still no word, guess I may have been to experienced for the beta as it seemed they wanted new and fresher people. I'm like week old  Bread and stale water these days.

I don't know, I applied right after the announcement too, with (at the time) no beta experience, and am still sad panda club.  My ginormous excel sheet is sitting forlorn and abandoned, waiting for the invite that never comes.

I'm a Gamestop manager who Beta'd SWTOR, 100%'ed Me 1, 2 and 3, DAO (UE) and DA II, with a writing degree and am on a first name basis with Chris P and Stan W from the ME forums, and no Beta for me, yet, either.

Point being, no idea /what/ type of experience they are looking for. xD

Anyone know of any journalist/blogger that has applied and hasn't gotten in yet?

I mean, I know NDA and all, but the 100% "media blackout" with regards even to baseless speculation on what the Keep may be between March and August seemed abnormal to me...

I've applied and been marked as "media/press" (editor-in-chief in Polish digital magazine - www.gamermag.pl), but still no possibility to check the Keep :)

Personally, I do have Platinum in DA:O and all but one trophy (bugged Supplier) in DA2, so... :)

So I need something clarified here: The Dragon Age Keep will have absolutely no impact on the save import from Origins to DAII, right? Which means that all the typical bugs and bizarre issues, like the inability to import your Origins world state to DA: Awakening if you made the Ultimate Sacrifice, will always exist between these two games?

If this is the case, that's a real shame. Every time we start a new series playthrough, we'll have to headcanon our way through the first two games if we make choices that don't import correctly. At least the Keep will eliminate this problem for all future games.

The Keep does not create a world state for Dragon Age II. Importing from Origins to II will still rely on the old direct save import system. So future Dragon Age II playthroughs will still be afflicted with the same bugs that accompany import right now.

However, the import errors associated with the previous games will not be carried over to Inquisition. The Keep is designed to prevent that from happening; you can resolve the errors that would've come up in the previous games. Things like the Ultimate Sacrifice, or Nathaniel Howe.

I got unintentionally trolled so hard today! I joined a bioware forum group thing for DAI MP and an E-Mail about it popped up in my box but the first thing I noticed was the that it was from Bioware and just about had a hard attack, lol. No beta access info! TROLLED! LOL!

So I had an idea about the Maximum 5 World-States at a time (which really bugs me since there are 6 Origin Stories).  Feel free to tear this apart since I just need to write it down before it clogs my brain again.

We keep hearing about how the Keep will eventually track data from DAI and make updates by itself, right?  Well I wonder if it would be possible to upload more than that.  I know we can't upload from DAO or DAII, but since they already have a feature like that planned for DAI I wonder if it might be able to be changed from just the most recent choice to the whole World-State.  Not every time or automatically, but a separate function.  That way we could build a World-State, import it to DAI and use a character to save it, then rinse and repeat until we run out of character slots, and if we wanted to see a World-State we had to erase to make room in the Keep, we could upload from the character.  I know console gamers got seven or eight slots with the last two games, so that gives us more room to work with, and it might be worth the extra time in the beginning if they're World-States we want to see continue on, not just fool around with to see what happens.  Or if you're fooling around and find it does something cool in DAI that you want to keep, but you already deleted it and can't remember your choices.  I know I've got seven World-States I'd like to see make it into (presumed)future games without having to write everything down so I can reenter it into the Keep later on.

Then again, maybe the Keep will be so fun we won't mind the half-hour (full hour?) of reentering!    Anyway, that's my half-baked "what-if" idea for the month.

...how would it make you more optimistic than you were?  XD

I'm kinda just pulling the idea out of my @$$ - based on the personality choices we had back in Origins during character creation.  I also believe the first thing I said was "I don't imagine it happening"   lol

Optimistic because the Keep will continue being a WIP long after the release of DA:I. If for some reason the Warden doesn't make the cut for Inquisition a personality based system rooted in the Warden's various voice sets will be a decent compromise for people worried that a Warden cameo in future installments won't be consistent with their player character from Origins.

"Include"?  I highly doubt anyone who did not get a Keep code via PAX/twitter will get an invite into the beta.  By my understanding over 300 such codes were given away...

Idk, I think we're at the point where the numbers that they invite are getting to be a bit higher.

I mean, we are looking at the release of the Keep by next month after all.

So all the beloved sad pandas should not be sad much longer. <3

The Keep twitter account said they would be sending regular invites on Monday as well.
