You had to ask that question didn't you?  You know that's the sounding call to bring you know who back

Wont bother me in the least. I don't see his posts anyway. :P

You do realize that the statistical amount of people that would want an offline option is very small compared to the amount of people that wont care about it being online because they will be able to use it. Bioware already looked at the situation and found it more cost effective to do the keep online only. An offline option would create more problems than solutions.

I am going to drop this, I maintain the possible problems out way any benefit, But i also acknowledge i am being paranoid.

It's ok to be a devil's advocate every once in a while. :D

What's wrong with it? Authenticate, set Origin to offline, and it never checks again.

really? Man I wish I had known that before.

It'd be kind if surprising if the DLCs didn't require one-time activation too, since that's the current system.

That is not what I meant. It is about people being forced to be online every time they want to play only because they bought DLC which has happened before on the PC. It is possible this may happen again.

There are still folks complaining about the endings, and if BioWare gives them anything substantial they could round up another big protest, Which will hurt my chances of getting more of the games i want, the infrastructure for the backlash is already in place anything that gets a good number peeved could mean EA breathing down BioWare's necks to be more mass appealing, Imagine having the main Character of Jade Empire 2 be white, sure it's a worse case scenario, but it's a scenario that could be made to not even be possible with one little change, I simply can't believe a good enough reason exists to not have both options or at least a middle ground, when the benefit is removing a pitfall that could be disastrous.

EA looks at value monetarily.  If it sells well, that's a win for them.  If people are complaining online about something, so be it.  But I still maintain it's not going to be anywhere near what ME3 endings were.

Was that the case for ME3?  I play on console, so I really had no idea about this.

You would launch the game, and then you would have to wait while it connected to the servers to authenticate your DLC. If that failed, it locked you out of saves containing the DLC

Actually ME3 did that until they patched it.

As a member of the DA Keep beta, I have to say I'm absolutely amazed at the conspiracy theories I've read here.

Let me ease your pain and just say, "Wait and see. You'll be surprised at how easy it is."

You didn't know that?

What Origin had a problem with was finding no connection when it expected to find one. If it was already set to offline it stayed offline. Not good if your connection is glitchy and you left Origin set to online. Steam used to fail that way too, once upon a time, but since they were first they usually get a pass.

Why would they start doing that now?

I was hoping someone who had actually seen and used The Keep would post something like this. Thank you.

Of course...... that makes me even more impatient to see it myself. Argh.

Did, they ever Look into making it Possible for Importing the Keep World State then Save your Keep Choices into a USB Flash Drive.

This would be a possible Choice for those who can not Upload to a Console, they would be able to Import DK Choices using a USB Flash Drive. then Upload the USB into your PS3, PS4 or what ever you console is.

This would Give those with No Connections or Dial Up Connections to use DK Via USB Flash Drive.

But far as I know, the Keep Saves directly onto your EA/Origins Profile basically the Profile we all use to sign on to the BSN Forums which is our EA/Origins deal.

The Keep Saves then Inquisition soon as you Connect your Console Online then Inquisition somehow Reads the Keep World State from the Bioware Servers then Uploads & Imports into Inquisition.

So Using a USB Flash Drive might not be a Possible choice, also the Reason No Normal Direct for PS3-360 versions is cause of FROST BITE 3, considering Previous games Origins & 2 used different Engines making Direct Import IMPOSSIBLE.

So you either Play DEFAULT or you USE DK APP is the only Method for Inquisition. Still the USB Flash Drive Method WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD SUBSTITUTE CHOICE.

Wondering if Bioware will make Easier Methods For people WITH NO CONNECTION.

Or make a Dragon's Keep DISK being on a Physical DISK could also be a POSSIBLE DEAL.

Lots of Ideas on How to make DK APP AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE, sadly No one is Thinking Out side the Box.

1.  USB FLASH DRIVE

2. Put Dragon's Keep on Physical Disk being STAND-ALONE ADD-ON or included in EXPANSION

*snip*

They have. They won't do it, mostly because both Sony and Microsoft don't want them to.

And making a Dragon Age Keep disk would not be cost-effective. With the Keep as it is, they will accomplish as much as possible using as few resources as necessary for the most amount of people. They've done a pretty good balance.

Edit: Posted before I was ready. Dangit.

USB wasn't possible because of Microsoft and Sony issues.

I'm sure putting the Keep on an entirely separate disc is costly. Frankly, it's not worth the cost for the few people who can't connect to the internet. I'm positive the developers looked at all the options, and this was the best choice. Just because it's not the one you want doesn't mean they didn't 'think outside the box,' or inside it really, since they're pretty basic alternatives.

Hey there I am kinda new to this, but I was just wondering how the whole importing thing works with DAI for example!e with x360 and ps3? Can you just get the game and import like you would from origins to 2 or not? Also what about x1 and ps4, I get what Dragon Keep is but how detailed is it? Is it as limited as the genesis comic was for me2 and me3 or is it super in depth? I am asking this because I haven't figured out what console to get it for (love to get it for PC but don't have a good one) I have x360 where I played through DAO and then imported my saves to DA2, if I get DAI on x360 can I just import from DA2? If not should I consider getting it for PS4 instead and use the DK if its in depth?

There's no direct import no matter what platform you play on. You'll need to visit the Keep website and create a world state. There are 300+ plot flags in the Keep. There is a video going over a bit if the Keep on YouTube to give you an idea of the depth. At the start of a new DAI game you will log into Origin via your console, and the world state will import into, the game from the Keep.

Getting a new console is up to you, but you'll have to use the Keep regardless if you want to create a custom world state. If possible, I'd upgrade just for the graphics alone.
