Too many ways for that not to fit such as not playing a dwarf warden, saying no to the noble hunter, playing a female dwarf, or hooking the noble hunter up so that your son is taken care of. If the dwarf inq were the son of the warden, most world states would not allow you to play as a dwarf in DAI....also you would be ten then so no romance for you. I now feel like I took this comment more seriously than I should have. X.X

Ah. The age, good point

I'd really like to see Kaitlyn and/or Bevin show up in some capacity.

Agreed. Bevin would be around the right age to start adventuring. If he was ~8-12 in Origins, He'll be 18-22 now.

Future companion?! Someone get to Twitter!

Well, all I knew was "sometime before the game is released on November 21st" so actually "sometime in October" DOES narrow it down quite a lot, thanks :)

According to Amazon it would be the 18th, which would fit with the European release on the 20th (and no, there is still no valid reason to let us have it later in Europe, but that is a topic for a different thread)...

for that. Blame the deals they have with stores.

In my headcanon, if the Warden returns his grandfather's sword, Bevin becomes a badass Rogue dedicated to hunting the undead. He doesn't have the money or sponsorship for a knighthood in the Templars and he's too much of a maverick for religious life anyway. Instead, much to his sister's chagrin, he decided to travel from town to town working as an independent/unsanctioned monster slayer picking up tricks of the trade from other swordsmen. By 9:40 he has built a reputation for himself and a ragtag band of misfits he accumulated on his travels to whom he often brags about how the Warden used his sword to save Redcliffe.

I know right.. Every question that keeps getting asked over and over is literally answered in post one on page one. People are just lazy.

I've decided that, at this point, I don't really want to get into the beta anymore...

I mean, we're a month away from release date, it's doubtful we'll have access to all the features(even in an open beta), and I've rarely been in a beta that carries a user's information over to the finished product.   It may still be helpful to Bioware for people to get into the beta, but my interest has waned since September began.  Mostly because I can wait a month without freaking out about it, and I've made it through the prior six months without freaking out about not getting a beta key...

I've been staying home sick and bored as hell all week. If I got into the Keep I'd do a victory lap around the block in spite of the illness and play around with it all day. Please let the open beta come and save me from this.

This actually sucks. Why not fix the keep to accept the save game imports? Half the fun of this series like me3 is going back and playing the original for all the import stuff. Mass effect had a lot more stuff show up with a new play through over using genesis. I think the keep is a good idea, but I want to import my actual save.
The only real reason you may have had import issues is people modding or cheating their games. Thus messing up their save files. Seriously re-think the Import and at least allow a keep import of saved files.

Because save imports are bugged and you cant retrieve save files from consoles.

It's much easier and a lot more interesting to do it in the keep (from what I've seen). Plus if you didnt do a quest (because you couldnt or didnt have the dlc) you can now say you did it.

The word "Fix" is funny you can't fix something that not broke and The keep can't broke because it not finish. You can't just tell everyone to fix something that not finish.

Why people always complain about thing that they didn't even try and don't think about how that gonna work. Is it necessary to make? these people should try and think by the developer point of view not just what they want and act like a child who want some toy

He turned into a Witcher?  :D

A. Oh yeah, everyone should be ashamed that they played those horrible mods Awakening, Golems of something, and Witch Hunt. They should have known playing those would completely ruin their romance variables and resurect a dead Warden. It is their own damn fault! >.>

B. They totally have the time in a month or two to create a flawless importer that can decrypt PS3 and 360 files, fix import/save errors, properly guess decisions made in DAO that were not imported into DA2 at all, and add bandwidth to support uploading of save files from scratch. Oh and of course they won't need to spend any of their time testing because their code will be perfect on the first round. >.>

No. Your saves have broken flags if you played on console, where there are no mods. Your saves have broken flags if you played on PC completely vanilla, zero mods, too. The problem was in the game itself, not the mods. The DAO epilogue autosave could unset your approval/romance flags going off and several plot flags didn't set right, never triggering the corresponding slide. Then Awakening broke the whole save system for players who made the ultimate sacrifice by ditching their entire DAO playthrough, and sent forward a bunch of erroneous dead/alive flags for your companions. Then Witch Hunt could again unset your DAO flags and send them forward null. Then DA2 had several problems reading imported flags correctly and reacting to them with the proper triggers too, mangling whatever had survived the process so far.

Your saves are not healthy, no matter what you think. They have broken information no matter how clean you played, because it was the save system that was broken from the start. It was never about mods.

You crave the illusion of importing a tangible file instead of cloud data right now because that's what you're used to, but the second something in DAI didn't respond appropriately to a choice you made all the way back in DAO, you'd be tearing the devs down for never fixing the old save bugs. Well, they are fixing it. We complained about broken saves for years, they listened, and came up with a fix. This is something the devs are doing to help us have a better gaming experience with a franchise that unfornately had a lot of save data bugs from the start, it's not an evil plot to remove player agency or world reactivity from us via save game.

Just try to pull yourself out of the mental space where uploading a file is somehow the superior way of importing the data. In these games, it was not. The Keep will tabula rasa all the old save problems away, so the franchise can keep going without constant fear that if you breathe in the wrong direction, you've ruined three-four game's worth of plot choices and will never see the right consequences for them in your game because one silly flag unset itself without your knowlege four years ago.

I vote any time importing is brought up everyone just point them to the previous threads.  Any arguments for it has been explained over, and over, and over again.  It really doesn't do any good explaining it all again anytime someone brings it up.
