Yup. Plenty of fun, least chance of viruses.

Appreciated.
I would really love and appreciate a Keep beta code. If anyone has one spare, I can offer a resume/cover letter check (I work in HR), or I can critique your fanart, fanfiction etc
if you have any ideas for what I can do to help you, just send me a PM.
Keepers, thank you for being awesome. It sounds like you guys gave some wonderful feedback and helped shape the Keep to be wonderful. ![]()
Firstly - many thanks to those Keeper sharing codes here on BSN! ![]()
For those still waiting, every beta tester that we had up to this point got 5 codes to share with friends. There's no time limit on these, so as more Keepers log in over the next few days we should see more share codes here or over other social channels. In addition, we'll still continue to add beta applicants as normal (as well as increase the number of applicants let in per wave). So plenty more chances - best of luck to everyone.
Now then, to go a little more in depth, after the video was posted, a Dev posted someplace clarifying what was imported. No story decisions are imported. I'd post a link, but I'm on my phone ATM. The reason that there were decisions already selected in the demonstration is because the presenter was working with a world state that had already been populated by someone else and not a blank one, not because your decisions in DAO are imported.
Just to speak a little about the Pax presentation I gave - these things are never perfect, as every word is super scrutinized afterwards and often new meaning can be inferred where it wasn't meant despite us trying to pick words carefully. ![]()
What you saw roughly was:
- Sync process pulling DAO & DA2 data from BSN to Keep
- Selecting a Hero step
- Step 3 (the ISS / video narrated by Varric) - this reads the current world state and adjusts the video & narration on the fly. We skipped the opening in the demo, but this would already call out whichever Warden you selected in the previous step, for example. If you also choose to make any decisions (edit button) here, behind the scenes the tapestry choices are all being adjusted and corrected in the background so that when you get to the end/Tapestry you can a) see the result of the decisions you just made (Hero + ISS), and
you are ready to export for use in DAI (or edit further as much as you want).
That process of taking into account the Hero you selected in that sync process step, was the 'previous choices' I was referring to - apologies for the confusion that it may have been pulled all the way back from DAO/DA2 game data, that wasn't the intent and is not how the system works.
Hope that helps,
F.
If anyone has any Keep codes they wish to get rid of, I'm in the market. Thanks!

There is a thread dedicated to begging for Keep codes here. Probably best if we don't gum this thread up with requests as it should be dedicated to answering people's questions about the Keep....over and over again.

I got a code. What do I do with it? The keep page doesn't allow me to enter any codes.

Go to origin, then click on origin and select redeem product code or alternatively you can go to the origin site and redeem it there.
You give it to m...I mean go to activate.eat.com and enter it there while logged into you Origins account (assuming it works like previous beta key give aways).I got a code. What do I do with it? The keep page doesn't allow me to enter any codes.
Thanks diagorias!
This is great news! Finally the sad panda's club will get some love, right time too because we were running out of cookies...
Any caring soul out there? ![]()
There is already another thread for begging. No need for this to be a second. This is great news! Finally the sad panda's club will get some love, right time too because we were running out of cookies...
Any caring soul out there?
Well, let me just say I'd greatly appreciate a chance to be part of the Keep beta - so, anyone wanting to share a code with me... consider yourself a friend!
*sigh* Should I just accept that this thread will drowning in these posts despite there being a dedicated thread for requesting codes?Well, let me just say I'd greatly appreciate a chance to be part of the Keep beta - so, anyone wanting to share a code with me... consider yourself a friend!
What posts are really being drowned out? The vast majority if the time this thread is about people expecting to be able to import saves. And more often than not there isn't really a discussing going on this thread nor does it receive a lot of posts as of late.*sigh* Should I just accept that this thread will drowning in these posts despite there being a dedicated thread for requesting codes?
What exactly is this thread for?
"I have a question about the keep"
"Grrr, read the FAQ on the first page, noob"
"I would like access to the beta for the keep"
"Grrr, there's another topic for that, fool"
"Let's talk about the content of the keep"
"Can't, they all have NDAs, you oaf"
So is this thread basically for posts that say "So... Dragon Age Keep eh? That sounds swell. Jolly good. Ho hum... *whistles*"
Well, we can discuss about the keep and due to the video what is in the keep. It's just people cant go "This is how the keep deals with the Awakening options"
So here's a topic to discuss, how do you think they will handle Awakening companion survival (assuming they are in the Keep)?
In Awakening, anyone not in your party is set as dead if you save the city even if you have all upgrades. However the epilogue slide show has several of them survive the siege if you have all upgrades. So which do you think they will have control, the programming or the epilogue?
That's a good question - I know in DA2, for example, it was flagged that anyone still at Vigil's Keep would be dead if you chose to save Amaranthine (despite if you had all upgrades or what the Epilogues stated), hence why you needed to take Nathaniel with you in your party if you wanted him to survive into DA2.

I think they will give you choices on each companion, but your choices with them will restrict other choices you make. When you choose Sigrun's fate, for instance, the following can happen:
1. You let her head back to the Deep Roads on her own, never recruit her into the Wardens. - This choice does not restrict any other choices.
2. Recruit her into the Wardens, but she leaves on her own after a while to answer her Calling. - This choice does not restrict any other choices.
3. Recruit her and encourage her to stay with the Wardens. - This choice does not restrict any other choices.
4, She dies at Vigil's Keep - This choice means that you HAVE to have saved Amaranthine, and NOT upgraded Vigil's Keep.
4. Spare the Architect, Sigrun gets angry, you kill her. You HAVE to spare the Architect for this to occur.
So by making your choices with Sigrun, you will have restricted yourself in other areas of the story. That's how I've seen the Keep work in the videos they have shown.
They did this with Alistair's fate. If you choose to make Alistair King of Ferelden, then he can't kill the Archedemon. If he stays with the Wardens, same thing. If you have him make the sacrifice, then that's his fate. And you can't spare Logain.
"In the Keep, one choice may affect many others. They are all connected, in the Great Circle of L-" *bonk*.....Sorry, I was channeling Mufasa there, for a second. Oooo, that's a good name for a non-human Inquisitor....
I guess I am going to stay in the sad panda club for a while longer by choice. I am really not that into begging for a beta code from people I don't even know in real life. Who am I really to deserve to receive a beta code from anyone I don't know over just receiving an invite by luck of the draw? I don't know, it would make me feel I owe something to someone, someone I don't even know.
Completely agreed. I wish the Beta had stuck to its original principle of granting people access to the Keep based on what kind of testers they needed at the time. It seemed that BioWare were going out of their way to make access to the Keep as fair as possible and I respected that.
Now it's just turned into an awful sideshow where people are either begging for scraps on the BSN or hitting F5 on Twitter for days on end, only to not get a code anyway. It seems like it's been designed to make people feel as bad as possible about themselves and I've read posts where people complained that it was triggering their depression. That was what really made me feel deeply uncomfortable about the whole thing and I'm glad I haven't joined in the recent giveaways.
I suspect that might be more detailed than the Keep will be (I would expect Sigrun's fate to be chosen from unrecruited, alive, and dead). However that still leaves the core of the question open. If you set more than 3 Awakening companions as alive and recruited and also choose to save the city, do you think the Keep will say that there is conflict there (recreating Awakening as programmed) or will the Keep be fine with it if you got all upgrades (going with the slide show)?I think they will give you choices on each companion, but your choices with them will restrict other choices you make. When you choose Sigrun's fate, for instance, the following can happen:
1. You let her head back to the Deep Roads on her own, never recruit her into the Wardens. - This choice does not restrict any other choices.

Now they got what they wanted with the small numbers. They're opening it up for the stress testing, as for the code sharings, it's up to each person to decide.
