You really should have asked that somewhere else. However, in the keep you select a worldstate for export/import in the game starting a new game it pulls that data from the keep.

Then in the keep you go and choose another to be imported and make another new save with that worldstate.

Yes I know that but can I still play an old save from a previous Keep creation without an online connection or not?

My understanding is that once you've started a "New Game" using a world-state (one of the up-to <insert final number here>) stored in the Keep, for which you MUST be connected, you won't have to stay  connected to play that game.

But if it works like previous BioWare games, you'll have to disable your network connection (or unlug your network cable/turn-off your wireless) in order to prevent it from trying to connect and throwing an error if it can't.

oh right. Once you've loaded the worldstate into a save then you can delete it. What that will do to the upload we dont know.

You can also just block the game in the firewall

Actually they stated during the twitch thing that the way it will work is that whenever you are uploading plot flags from Inquisition it will check all of your current world states (I am assuming just the DAO and DA2 portions, but maybe past DAI decisions also) to find a match for the world state in the save. If no match is found, then it will create a new world state (assuming you have room) based on your current game. Incidentally this probably means that one way to "expand" your Keep world state slots is to create a new game with the world state, delete the world state from the Keep, and then if you want to reuse the world state later make an open slot in the Keep and load up the save with the desired world state. And then boom world state back in the Keep.

There isn't a specific date just yet, but the devs are shooting for a month before release of DA:I so a month from now around Oct 17-23 seems to be the target spot.

I think they said October 19. You'd need to watch the Q&A (when its uploaded) to find out exactly what they said.

I don't fully understand your question. Every time you make a new save for Inquisition, if you want to import a Keep world state you DO need to connect the the internet, yes.

Here is a scenario: In the Keep you make 5 different world states. Then you load up DAI and make 5 new characters, each with a different world state from the Keep. Then you go offline. You can switch between those DAI saves all you like because those choices are "baked in" to your DAI save.

Another scenario: Let's say you're having a problem because the Keep is too restrictive with the number of world states it allows (final number not yet determined). If you have World State Alpha and you use it on DAI Save Alpha, you can go back to the Keep and change some of those World State Alpha choices and they will NOT affect your DAI Save Alpha. You can then use that altered world state to create DAI Save Beta. But to do all of these changes, imports, and so on you do need to connect to the internet.

Once you have your Keep world state all set and your DAI save all set you can then go offline and play.

I will be surprised if there are not options in DAI where you can turn off this sort of online connectivity. Currently in DAO and DA2 you can decide whether to submit gameplay feedback (metrics) and upload character data. Even though I have a permanent internet connection I will be turning off the automatic Keep updating features (if allowed). I prefer to manually set things to ensure that everything is exactly the way I want it.

Meh.  To me this is like saying you want an option for Alistair to kill the Archdemon even though Loghain was made a Warden.  Sure, I can get this scenario if I play on the PC and mod it in... But there's no reason for Bioware to change the lore to accommodate me.

I still have no issue with Bioware forcing players who want to see Bethany to make their Hawke a rogue or warrior.

The keep though is about fixing not breaking worldstates

Didn't say that I actually thought they would do it, or that they even should, just that is what I'd like to see.    Just like we'd all like to see a better ending to Mass Effect 3, We all know it's not going to happen, doesn't stop us from wanting it.

Yeah, plus while this won't be a problem for DAI as I am going to have the PS3 version, my DAO and DA2 are both PC versions, and I use a few... ahem...adult mods... and having my mage Rose uploaded wearing Hsil's Sexy Mage Robes (my favorite is the one based on the abomination's robes) would be... um... Not really sure, I mean the game is rated M yes, but that doesn't mean that Bioware would be not freakin' out if I uploaded a character in that outfit LOL

Ok, I have Origins on PC. The Keep is not recognising the achievements from my saved games. I assume this is due to not being online? Anyway, logged in yesterday in game to try to force update...did not work. Link seems to be to the old BSN site. Can anyone suggest a way to make this work?

I don't fully understand your question.

Let me explain it again so it is easy to understand.

I create a world state as a Human rogue and play the game for a few hours and then save.
I then create a new world state as an elf mage and play for a few hours and then save.
My question is can i play both my two world state saves i created at any time without any online connection or do i have to have a connection to the Keep to play my two saved games.

no connection needed

Once you made the worldstate the internet could vanish and you could play forever

We know that they keep is coming out in October but The exact day of it coming out is still unknown so it may come out on first week of October or near the last week let's just wait for Bioware can you give us more info about the exact date of release that's the best thing we can do because if we continuously guess when it comes out we will be guessing them to Wear red in the face okay let's just wait and see what bioware says thank you

Yes, you should be able to flip flop playthroughs without connecting.

The only issue you'd have is uploading achievements and stuff to the Keep I assume, but if you don't care about that then I don't see any other issues.

What aaarcher said. Now, playing online could be beneficial since choices made in DA:I will upload in real time to your active world state in the Keep. Unless you prefer to recreate your DA:I play through manually staying online sounds like the way to go. You could always make a pen and paper list and plug that in later.

Or connect to the internet for an hour or so after finishing just to upload everything.
